The president of their company said that seven years ago, BAND was unsuccessful, so he was trying to make this video the remaining budget and commemorate the dissolution. At that time, they also said that even if they disbanded and separated, it would be nice if they could play together again. However, without their knowledge, they were introduced on J-Rock Radio, which introduces Japanese rock music overseas, and exploded. And they will be invited to overseas Japanese festivals. Thrill is a miracle video that saved them from breaking up. At this time, Kobato, the backing vocalist of the red rose and the band founder, couldn't play the guitar. She had her first guitar on behalf of the backing vocalist to strengthen the band from the main vocalist. She is still growing up as a great rhythm guitarist. She now has several songs from BAND-MAID's main vocals and two songs from her solo project "Cluppo". She is an indomitable intellectual woman.

I don't suppose you guys had watched their Christmas acoustic concert. In that concert, Miku graduated from Kanami's shadow, and fronted some of the songs on guitar, without Kanami. It was so great to see her do that. 😊
She can now hold her own on guitar.

Yes indeed, i had given up paying attention to music early 2000 with the auto-tuned
drama queens and stayed with my go to AIC, Tool, audioslave etc.etc. Band-Maid has
become the music i judge all other s to and for me if it isn't Band-Maid it is boring :)
50+ years of rock and i have never seen a more cohesive and complete band....

I see you went back to the beginning - that would make "Real Existence - Live version" a great next choice. Then maybe skip up to "Onset" for a great instrumental, and then "Domination Live" to make sure you're fully addicted - and then you still haven't even scratched the surface. The Blooming MV is a fantastic one for showing off their songwriting skills, as well as Akane's creative drumming and Kanami's blistering guitar tapping skills. A flat out beautiful power ballad awaits with the Daydreaming MV. When you get to the stuff off of their most recent album, you'll be a little bit more ready for what's about to happen if you start a little earlier on.

Thrill is really what started Band-Maid's journey to become a hard rock band. The group started in 2013, but a year before Thrill (2014) received over two million views in the first weeks of release on Facebook, the Maids hadn't played much rock music at all. And the 2nd guitarist, founder and lyricist, Miku, didn't even know how to play guitar. It's an incredible story and we are so lucky they stayed together during those early years to become, in my mind, the best hard rock band on the planet! Thx, TITD!

This 2015 video was the make-it-or-break-it video for Band Maid. In fact at this point Miku couldn't even play the guitar since she thought she was only going to be a vocalist in the band. However this video did so well they decided that Band-Maid was going to be a successful project and that gave them the exposure and financial wherewithal to get started. This is before Misa and Saiki started dressing Gothic. Band-Maid is Jimmy Page approved!

There are two really heavy songs on this album. FREEZER and Shake That. Shake That is a serious fire starter. You can really hear Misa, Akane and Kanami give it their all. Unfortunately, they don't often play these two songs. Which is a bit of a shame. I know it's not their own material but they can give the songs their own touch to make them "their own".
A tip, keep this song in mind and while listening to Black Hole and you can hear how much Akane has developed as a drummer. She's not bad here in any way but today she's really a beast behind the drums. It's no coincidence they call her the gorilla (she loves bananas too). :)

Oh my gosh, you have opened the floodgates. Why do you love this? Because they may be the best rock group in the world today (I think they are). They are certainly the most creative.
You are going to get a lot of suggestions. Problem is many of the links get taken down pretty fast. These are a bunch that are official or unlikely to come down. First, a little background on the girls:
Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 27 years old
MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 29 years old
Kanami Tono - Lead guitar Composer and main arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 30 years old
Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 30 years old
Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 31 years old
Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through. She envisoned the idea of a maid-band that plays hard rock and metal. She recruited Kanami, after finding a Kanami guitar cover on line; Kanami then recruited Akane, who recruited MISA. Akane and MISA had been students together at the Tokyo Music Academy. The group decided they needed more vocal “oomph”, and collectively recruited Saiki. Miku didn't know how to play guitar when they started, so Kanami has been teaching her. She's become good so fast that she is really adding to the music mix, and Maidiacs are daring to dream of a dual solo.
Next, you have to listen to them live. They are that rare band that sound perfect live, even better than in the studio.

As a drummer you should check out the future of drumming not just Japan, but the world. Go to Yoyoka's CZcams page and react to any song that strikes your fancy. You won't be disappointed.

Agree, she is the best of the next generation of drummers and there are a lot of young drummers around the world ,that should help keep music interesting for years to come.

@@powbobs Sorry, what I meant to imply is that she is not only the best young drummer in Japan, but the best young drummer in the world. Probably the best child prodigy since Joe Bonnamassa who taught himself to play guitar and by the age of 13 was playing onstage with B.B. King at his club in Memphis.

My journey started with Babymetal, then Band-Maid, and finally Lovebites. Each band is absolutely awesome and put on some great live shows but if I had to choose one of the three it would most definitely be Lovebites.

If you like vibrato vocals. I will just say one name. Marina Hebiishi. She is now in the group Mardelas. Start with this song czcams.com/video/Wd8P7wTnWJs/video.html Mardelas/「Apocalypse」Music Video(full version)

This is the usual gateway to the female Japanese rock/metal scene so it's interesting that you got into it through Bray Me. Don't get me wrong Bray Me is great especially Kotani but you're the first reactor I've seen go that route.

Yeah! Junna is seriously good drummer, and fun to watch. And then you have Yoyoka too. Today she released a new cover "Rage Against The Machine - Sleep Now in the Fire". Do yourself a favor and watch it! That little girl is a hard hitting one!
