Didn't realize just how much of a history Takeda had, in spite of him only being in one game...
Tempted to try him out.
He has arguably one of the strongest high low games of any character in most of the games, on top of incredibly satisfying buttons to hit. Definitely even just hit the lab with him, he's a blast.

Try lasher I have used all the variations before online I personally think lasher is the best I hate the ronin variation😂 and shrai ryu variant is ok I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LASHER
Kinda fitting that one of the coolest members of the PS2 era ended up spawning one of the coolest members of the Netherealm era.
Also as a Mavado and Liu Kang main for many years I really dug Takeda’s aesthetic when I first saw him.
I absolutely love Takeda, one of my favorite MK characters ever.

They don't bring back the ninja with whip-tentacles, but they bring back the lame military girl with shotgun arms.....Why?
What i really like about takeda is how player friendly he is, a lot of his strings can be ended in special moves (meter burnt of otherwise) , wich opens up a lot experimentation for new players because... everything launches! even the kunai
But he was in MK11

Takeda and Kung Jin being taken off the roster after just one game was a big mistake. They were new characters with unique styles rather than just copies of Sonya, Johnny and Jax like Cassie and Jacqui. Crossing my fingers for their return in MK12 and the fans will give them a chance this time.
Man Takeda really gave them some good ideas for Robin in Injustice 2. Excited to see how much carried over for MK1
Fell in love with Lasher during the first few months of MKX because of how sick his bf2 looks in that variation. Gotta say, I'm glad I stuck playing him during the entire game and even when I do get the chance to play it nowadays, he's super fucking sick
COMPETITIVE HISTORY
I remember finishing the MKX story and then heading to practice mode wondering who the heck was this cool guy with the whips. Reminded me of the villian from Iron Man 2. Loved Takeda ever since then
Lasher Takeda is easily my favorite Variation of Takeda, the focus on long-ranged attecks suited so well for me. As for Takeda players, I myself remember St9rm very well, he brought the hype with his Shiray Ryu Takeda a ton of times, truly a great player. Also Vman too, great player as well.

This video is longer than the smoke one and its just about 1 MK game, I really like when you guys talk about the characters in super extra detail instead of giving them just a quick rundown, but im sure that it takes a lot of work to do these mk metas, keep up the great kontent both of you guys, love this channel!

After 20 years, we finally got a second shirai ryu member.Son of Kenshi too.
As opposed to Lin Quai who were nothing alike, it's nice he has his own version of kusari kunai.
Also, V-man, I love watching him lol.
I thought he would've came back for mk11.
He would have his father's sword with Scorpions ninjutsu teachings and his telepathy powers.

I remember the first time I saw Takeda being played was at an IRL tournament (probably one of the ones you showed in this video) and it was Hayatei using the Ronin variation. I was so amazed by it I decided that I wanted main Ronin right then and there, it didn't go well but I still vividly remember that moment to this day.
I was so sad when Takeda wasn’t in MK11, he’s my favorite MK character by a lot and he would’ve fit very well in the weapon focused gameplay MK11 was going for imo :((

Missed him in MK11, especially the Ronin variation. I guess we had a taste of it with Nightwolf's Moonfall ability but it just wasn't the same.

My brother used to love playing Lasher Takeda
My resentment for MK 11 might have not been too intense had him, Havik, Kung Jin and Quan Chi had returned (they killed off Mileena in the storyline but brought her back as a guest character in 11, why not Quan?).
They planned more content for MK11 but a lot was canceled because of the pandemic. Its possible Quan was planned as dlc.

I would LOVE too see a Ferr/Torr history. Such a underplayed character.
I’d love to see a nice big storyline between Jacqui/Takeda/Kenshi out for revenge against Daegon/Mavado and their Black Dragon spy Tasia who’s a mentor to new BD leader Dominik and his suspicious g/f Kira. But dream fanfic aside, I’d love to see Takeda return in MK 12. It’d also be cool to see him play out a storyline with Forest Fox but there I go again lol
Anyways, love the videos! Each one seems better than the last somehow, which is no small feat by any stretch of the imagination. Hope to see you both do some sort of version of “your ideal MK12 base roster plus DLC and why you want them” video soon.👍
Takeda was so damn cool. Best newcomer in all of MK and the fact that he's never came back has left a sour taste in my mouth.
I enjoyed playing as Takeda in MKX. I look forward to seeing how he plays in MK1. I was disappointed when he wasn't in MK11.
Takeda was easily among my favorite newcomers in Mortal Kombat X alongside Kotal Kahn and Erron Black. His backstory in the (now non-canon. . .) MKX comics, his gameplay was fun, had a neat design, and the fact that he was the son of Kenshi AND trained by both him and Scorpion, I was very surprised he out of anyone didn't come back playable in MK11.
I certainly hope Takeda returns in the upcoming "Mortal Kombat 12" or whatever it may be called. 👀

Haven’t watched the video yet so I’m going off of the title and thumbnail, but I agree. He’s my favorite newcomer and I’m actually so salty that he didn’t return in mk 11 and that, because of that, we’ll likely never see him again now that the timeline reset once more
Tbh one day I hope they bring back takeda and kung Jin, I love both dearly because one is related to my other favorite character kenshi and another one has my favorite weapon the bow and I been practicing the bow and playing as kung Jin made me so happy hopefully he comes back in next game

Lasher was my favourite, I had a tendency to like a character's worst (competitively) variations. But I'd say my favourite new character was Kotal. Dein Opfer ehrt mich.
I tend to like the worst variations too just because they're incredibly fun. Lasher, Scorpion's Ninjitsu, Ermac's flying one, Sub Zero's Cryomancer (idk if that one's bad or not, I just like it)

Takeda is a great character to watch
I loved Takeda, and I generally hate new characters they add to games. In fact the very first CZcams video I ever made was a Takeda Shirai Ryu combo video. I thought he was great but I always had a hard time dealing with high pressure characters like Kung Lao.
I really enjoyed Variations people didn't really use/like :) I loved Sub-Zeros Unbreakable Variation, & Raiden Master Of Storms few others...

Hayatei got me into maining Ronin, I seen one tournament with him in it. And the rest is history. Even though I mostly play other characters just because I'm playing for fun, if I'm in a serious set, I know I can pull out Ronin and win. I hope they bring him back in the next game

Wish in this new mk we get Takeda as his ancestor or something (could sworn there was a Takeda before him in the Shirai Ryu). Maybe use metal chains to call back to his whip blades here
I'm personally on the Cassie train. I thought that they blended Johnny and Sonya perfectly and I enjoyed some of her higher execution combos.
But Takeda was the first character that I ever took to training mode in MKX and I think he's amazing as well.

Looking at MK11 and wondering where my boy went. Being the son of Kenshi and being mentored by Scorpion, it's like... 3 of my favourite characters being related.
Facts
i feel it would only make sense for Takeda to return, if he did at all, with Kenshi's sword. Considering the Krypt guy found it in Kenshi's dead body, but then died to the shaolin traps in the Aftermath story, the sword is just floating out there. I think it would be some awesome character development. Maybe one day Takeda feels a muffled, distant call from his ancestors and goes in search of it.
