As for her rivalry with Jade, it never came off as personal and doesn’t need to be imo. It’s weird that Jade has an ending where she pours Tarkatan essence or something on Tanya(don’t wanna know where she got it lol) and Tanya dies. That feels way too personal for simply “you’re a traitor and I’m loyal”. Maybe Tanya just cares for herself and wants power or maybe she truly does care about her realm but doesn’t the wrong people ruling it. Either way she’s twisted, treacherous by nature and is willing to do anything she has to get what she wants. Have it be a battle of ideology or whatever. Tanya has a twisted version of Edenian patriotism and doesn’t understand why Jade is fiercely loyal to Kitana and Sindel. Kitana was for a long time Kahn’s daughter and one of his most deadliest assassins. A lot of her missions were to take out those who opposed Sho Kahn and there’s no doubt a lot of those targets were Edenians. Sindel, though in grief, did abandon her people and daughter. Or if anyone wants to go with the god awful MK11 retcon, she always loved Kahn and was a horrible person. If they wanted to add a more personal angle, maybe they were friends before Shao Kahn. Maybe Tanya and her family were part of resistance groups and her father died to one of Kahn’s assassins. Maybe it was Jade that did it when she worked under Kahn. That would give their rivalry a personal edge and actually make Tanya look a little less evil lol
Tanya and Jade rivalry is personal Tanya is a known traitor of her own realm Edenia which put her on the most wanted list to capture and bring to justice she also made Sindel get captured and Jade made it her business to go after Tanya herself their rivalry being she was in charge of the Edenian army so Jade made it her mission to hunt Tanya down which I also like cause it distance Jade from just only being Kitana best friend and Tanya is biggest traitor in Mortal Kombat she betray anyone for her own selfish deeds Tanya the opposite of Jade while Jade is loyal Tanya is not loyal.
That only played for one game (Deception)... Its not like they have a history together like Kitana and Mileena. In the konquest mode of deception jade also has a "rivalry" with Rain

Well seeing as how D'Vorah has now taken the title of the betrayer in mk lore, mentioned by other characters as well, Jade became her rival now, starting it over kotal and not edenia now. Jade even has a mask that is called D'Vorah's sworn enemy or something
I'm a firm believer that Rain was actually telling the truth to Mileena in their MK11 intros. Yes, Rain was using her. But given Tanya's track record of betrayal, I do believe she would have betrayed Mileena anyway. She just waits for her moment.
Tanya I believe had genuine feelings for Mileena. I think Mileena and her goals also aligned. Tanya is just able to shut off those feelings if Mileena ever got in her way or put her in legitimate harm’s way. If it benefited her to betray Mileena she would, until then she was happy to be with her. That’s what I believe anyway.

I did not expect Tanya! I like her a lot. Good character, fun personality, has never had a bad design imo(I will not count the MKX story mode 😂), and a fun moveset. This character has so much potential in both lore and gameplay

These analysis on less known/popular characters are really interesting to watch. Someone i think could be a good addition to the list is Frost, who started her path in the game during the ps2 era to jump straight into MK11 or Sindel, who has been through the 2d and 3d eras.
BEEN WAITING ON A TANYA VIDEO FOR YEARS THANKS!!! I’m so happy they not only brought her back, but gave her a very unique revamp turning her into an Egyptian themed pyromancer sorceress type which was a huge breath of fresh air and really makes her stand out. Was scared they would eventually turn her into just another ninja so I hope they continue to expand on her and even have her be the type for characters to go to when it comes to magical knowledge outside of Outworld.

Tanya was indeed a powerhouse at release and CEO 2015 might have 4 Tanya's in Top 8, but at least it wasn't Tekken 7 Leory Smith level of dominance when you got 7 players using him in Top 8, on top of CEO's Top 8 having 9 other characters alongside Tanya, and Tanya didn't even win the tourney. Just pointing that out 😊
I loved playing Tanya online in MKX. It was one of those characters with which felt like you "didn't have to follow the rules". Especially with her dragon naginata variation, most people had a really hard time dealing with it and knowing when to punish, etc.
