- Hello everyone!
And welcome back to Mortal Kombat lore video!
With us having covered some of the missing character on the channel recently, It kinda sparked the question In my mind of, where exactly are the missing characters of each of those trilogies, what could they be up to now, and what may have become of them In Liu Kings New Era and vision!
Because with all of the character changes and alterations, its naturally caused abit of a ripple effect throughout the universe, as many character are narratively tied to each other, and with many of those figures having being changed from who they were, or actively altered by Liu Kings wishes, how does that change and effect those character in the present?
Well that Is what we will be talking about In todays video!
Now this will probably wind up being a small little mini series on the channel, as we will be working backwards through the franchise to analyse these character and know what’s become of them here, starting off with he reboot trilogy (as its the most recent), before we then tackle the 3D trilogy, and then of course the original line up.

Takeda not returning in MK11 legitimately surprised me at the time. I thought he was guaranteed a spot to return.
I was shocked he wasn’t in MK11 too . He was my favorite newcomer in MKX along with Kotal Kahn and Ferra/ Torr.

Imagine 10 years ago with how much Netherrealm invested into the Kombat kids only to have none of them back in the base roster

If you look at takedas leaked intros, he's kenshis distant cousin who also severd ties with the yakuza. And it's also implied in an intro with the pair, that takeda silently followed kenshi when he left for Johnny's mansion.
Well of course, he could be lying about that to keep his familial relationship with Kenshi a secret.

Honestly, Cetrion get done dirty I'm mk11. I kinda hope she comes back in a later game, she was a really cool character when she came out and I played her a lot, even though I couldn't get past champion rank. Now Takeda I hope he appears in Mk1 story expansion, and Erron could be somewhere else doing his own thing, but I don't mind him coming back either. Also i want my boy Kung Jin to comeback, it was cool having another bow user aside from Nightwolf. Overall, these four should come back, with great skills and great designs, as well as a good part in the storyline.

I would love to see Erron Black return. I'd say he was definitely one of the favourites from the reboot timeline.

my thoughts:
-Geras: well, he is there
-Takeda: acording to some leaked intro dialogues he is no longer kenshi son, but of course he could be lying, since kenshi and suchin are a thing (kinda) its pretty obvious he will be kenshi son, kp1 takeda is most likely a future trunks case
-Ferra Torr: i think a symbiotic race can exist somehow, and since she is coming as a kameo, maybe we can see at least her in future games
-Kotal: i think he is taking shao place as general, i think mileena mentions in on an intro dialogue
-Kung Jin: he exist i guess, maybe he is a kid, in mkx he looked like the eldest of the group so.....
-Dvorah: its pretty obvious she will return in the next game, im preparing for her to kill a fan favourite
-Kollector: i mean, there are naknadans, so he is probably there
-Cassie: liu kang on an intro said the whole "johnny x sonya" is "spoilers" so its pretty obvious they will be a thing in the next game, i mean they are one of the most popular couples of the saga, so cassie existing in this timeline is pretty much garanteed (i hope thats the case, she is my favourite female character) also she was leaked as a kp2 character so....maybe we can have some hints about her future there
-Jacqui: i know she is not that popular but i know liu kang will make jax and vera meet in better circunstances, so maybe there is a chance for jacqui?
-Erron Black: maybe he can be an outworlder like shang tsung, or maybe they can adapt his mk11 origin as a black dragon
-Cetrion: who knows? maybe she is an elder godess but taking a better role now
Sindel also mentions that Raiden beat Kotal in an off-screen fight.
Minor misconception: Jax met Vera when he was in rehab/therapy after being freed from the Netherrealm! If you look at the flashbacks in MKX, Chapter 1 and the infiltration of Quan Chi's Fortress are pretty close to each other.
i mean Erron Black is more associated with Black Dragon clan.
he would most likely have rewritten history pretty much like hanzo.

so Erron Black could be the child of a Cowboy and an Outworlder/Edenian which explains his long life

In mk1 shang said there’s a timeline where she is alive & is still time keeper- why is make her design, voice move set & fatality the BEST & NOT use her? I love her so much it hurts, I mean it. I been campaigning for her since after math- please, we have to get her in….

Even though it doesn't really make sense I would still love to see Cetrion come back. I think she had a good design and was a good character and I think we might have an idea of how she could potentially come back. Ironically that is by taking advantage that supposedly every MK character fought and killed Kronika. Ermac like Shang Tsung and maybe Quan Chi would have stolen her soul which could have been a way for her to survive but maybe severally weakened. Another reason why I say this is because I really like that Fortune Teller version of her and want to see that version come back in some way. Plus for the Shinnok fans he can come back too thanks to my idea. As for the "Kombat Kids" they would have to either be Time Jumpers which I prefer they aren't or they have to have a change to how they came into existence. One way is make them more like siblings or some other relation to these characters. Another thing I feel like Cassie Cage would have to have an almost complete overhaul thanks to the absence and potential change of her mom and the fact that Johnny has a different version of his powers. Jacqui I think they can keep her as is just change who her mother is or change how they meet. Ferra and Torr I think can still exist in this world just not be forced together like they were before. Which means we could see Ferra be a Kameo and Torr be playable or vice versa. Also isn't MK9 supposed to be a part of that trilogy you covered. So what about the character(s) introduced there? Anyway love the video and looking forward to the other characters being covered
Plus Liu Kang did try to rescue her in the Aftermath story which it would be fun to see that he did find a way to rescue her from being dragged down with her mother Kronika
Kronika was AMAZING in mk1, that voice, that design, man I need her man- it just ain’t the same without her playable. I’m hoping KP2 or the aftermath dlc

In the story Liu Kang mention that the creator of Shinnok’s Amulet is powerless, which either means that Liu Kang nipped that threat situation in the bud early on or he gave Shinnok too a meaningless life (like the two sorcerers).

i was kind of iffy on cassie in x, but she was probably one of my favorite characters in mk11 so hopefully they bring her back in some fashion
I’m thinking they might bring some back as the titans who failed to protect there timelines and have more or less joined Lu kangs timeline I order to survive.

Takeda seems to be Kenshi's cousin here. Although, it would be amazing if he would train the young Hanzo, much like Hanzo trained the young Takeda in Kronika's timeline. Having an old character play Fox would be lit too!

I'm hoping the Takeda that is showing up in the next MK1 DLC is still Kenshi's son. They never revealed Kenshi's age throughout the game, but if he happens to be like mid to late 30's, he can still have a 14-18 year old son. Same applies to Cage, minus the Cassie's mother being Sonya.
Wasn't it suggested at least that the Takeda shown in the DLC reveal is a older man? So he couldn't be 14 - 18 years old. But I don't recall if it was Ed Boon who said that or what so maybe I'm mistaken
I find it weird how Takeda is being released solo with no kameo. Maybe Kung Jin is a hidden kameo or ?

I wonder if the Takeda we see in the Kombat Pact will actually be Hanzo in this time line, like how Qui Liang was given the mantle and abilities of Scorpion, Hanzo will will given the same or similar abilities and equipment to that of Takeda

It’s worth noting that in MK11, in the base game, there was available concept art exclusively for Sheeva, long before she was announced as a DLC character. That, and the MK1 art of Kung Jin were both labeled as NPC concept art.

i like to think that Liu Kang spared Hanzo of the sad tragic life of being Scorpion and he’ll be part of the second generation introduced in like MK14 or something, something along the lines of the Kombat Kids but a Takeda esque since they’re both Shirai Ryu and they’ll make him more interesting.… hopefully

I miss cetrion somehow she ended up being my favorite mk character ever I just loved the potential n how cool she seemed
i was just talking to someone earlier today about cetrion in the new era! this is not based on anything of course, this is just what i think nrs SHOULD do with her: they should make it that liu kang took pity on cetrion for how kronika used her without remorse and brought her back in his new era, but instead of making her an elder god, make her an edenian the same way he did with rain and just have her be a practicioner of nature magic. and also give her a family that a) loves and values her and b) is not kronika or shinnok.
also i dont care how many hoops they need to jump through, i want erron black back 😭 make him an edenian cowboy or bring him into canon from either another universe or from the past via time travel, idk
I really wish MK1 had just be a true reboot and followed a tournament. Centrion could be a cool sub-boss, just make her like this creepy witchy mage or like a human/nature hybrid looking thing.
Takeda is going to be the next final DLC character of kp1, but the way how I can see is he's going to be more like Cable from the X-Men since not sure if people pay attention from his face but his face was wrinkled so basically means that he is from the future so I could be right or wrong. But I'm pretty sure it's going to be official on his bio for MK1
Yeah cetrion isn't dead. Since they basically confirmed all ends of mk11 are canon means that there is a cetrion somewhere in the multiversus as a titan if their is enough clamour for her she will be back

@@mazeluchi9508 in the multiverse, all things are possible. There could very well be a Cetrion who realized that her mother was intending to murder her and rebelled. Never say never when the multiverse is involved.

I see the Naknadans acting more as tax collectors and financial administrators for the Empire and possibly only Kollector and few others would be the greedy ones out of the whole race. It makes more sense in the New Era they would feature heavily in commerce and trade rather than just debt collecting. I also believe Kung Jin much like Jade will feature in Kombat Pack 2 along with Cassie. Jacqui is the unpopular kombat kid so her return seems very unlikely. Cetrion deserved better writing and she didn't get it in MK11 but unfortunately, I don't see her returning as a lot of people disliked her.
My fav characters is takeda and Cassie i love these two since mkx and all love takeda and Cassie 😊🫶🏻

Takeda should've of been on the main roster in MK11 so NRS wouldn't be so desperate to put him in MK1 as DLC, idk if he is canon to the story yet like Quan Chi and Ermac but if he is I hope they don't change much. He was one of the best things to come out of the NRS timeline so hopefully they don't ruin him like they've done some others.
Can’t wait for Takeda. Out of the “kombat kids”, he was my favorite. Cassie was a close second, Kung Jin came in third, with poor Jacqui being dead last. I’d honestly rather see Jax be a full-on playable character (with or without cybernetics). Kinda hate the coolest POC character was reduced to Kameo status.

Whether it is apart of the main story or DLC I believe both Takeda and Jin were both planned to be playable. Takeda is still DLC but Jin is not. This is my theory because during the final chapter of Armageddon, Cassy and Jackie both have skins that look like their previous games but Takeda and Jin have new looks. Why make new looks unless they were planned to be new

I would love a playable Kronika. I’d also love for Goro, Sheeva, and Kintaro to be playable. A playable Motaro would be pretty sweet, too.
I thought Geras said if Kang took back his power as a Titan that he wouldn't be able to give it away again. He told him that's why he didn't let Kang know he put the power in that statue. He said that if he restored Kang's Titan power they wouldn't be able to be removed again. So Lui Kang could not relinquish his power to Geras. The title of keeper, yeah, but Kang will forever have Kronika's power now that he took them back. Unless Nearherealm just says who cares about polished lore.
I skipped mk 1 and up to now glad I did . My fav character is Takeda, here's hope he actually is great and gives me a reason to buy mk 1

She is a kameo, kameos have no story existence
They were shoehorned into the story, they were the protagonists and sidelined the fan favorites. They didn't earn that privilege, eg we were all happy when Johnny had his time to shine in MKX, he had earn the right and love to become the chosen one

Ferra is a kameo but without torr and she looks like she does at the end of her mkx ladder ending
My guess is that in this game it will just be torr as the rider and ferra as the mount
Ferra/Torr were symbionts. Their life cycle goes that when Torr dies, Ferra becomes the new Torr and is chosen by a new Ferra, so the Ferra kameo could quite possibly be a completely different Ferra searching for a Torr to bond with. They don’t go in depth on the kameo characters, so there’s always gonna be speculation. I was surprised out of all MK characters to make an appearance (even as just a kameo) was Mavado… Not a whole lot of people liked Mavado very much iirc, kinda thought of him as a poor knockoff of Scorpion. He also kinda sucks as a kameo character. Would have rather had the brothers from Armageddon as kameos over Mavado and his weird rubber-band Scorpion spears.

Cetrion, Kung Jin and D`Vorah should return indeed.
Just so long as D’Vorah doesn’t get anymore unearned kills on legendary characters. She was fun to play as, but they had her killing OGs like she was freakin’ unbeatable. I got very upset that she was the one who killed Hanzo Hasashi. I wouldn’t mind Kung Jin making a return, if only for him to meet a non-revenant Kung Lao. Plus, his bow/staff was a very cool weapon.

I mean, they introduced Janet Cage as a Johnny variant from another timeline. I’d be fine with Cassie being Johnny’s kid sister or another Johnny variant. I’d even be cool with her being Sonya’s kid with someone other than Johnny and her being a Johnny Cage superfan. Could even kinda combine her moveset with Jacqui’s moveset and have her be Sonya and Jax’s kid from another timeline. Jacqui was nobody’s favorite, but she had some straight up awesome moves.

The “Kronika” in the story mode was Titan Shang Tsung who deliberately chose that form as a form of psychological warfare against Liu Kang. Completely in character for a manipulator like Tsung.
So messed up where's Sonya no Sonya no Cassie they wiped both of them from mk1 this why I really don't like mk1
Sonya’s there, but like Kano and Jax, relegated to kameo status. Their story has been told so many times… What could be cool is what if they flip the script and Kano’s the good guy in the situation and Sony and Jax are evil AF?
@@oberonthedragon888 Except this will never happen. Earthrealm will always be the home base of the good guys, because it's the realm we exist in. Earthrealm is OUR Earth in MK lore. So, Earth always has to feature the heroes of the story, because humanity has to win against demons (oni like Drahmin & Moloch as well as revenant specters like Scorpion [OG Midway era and MK 9-MK11 NRS reboot timeline Hanzo Hashasi's vengeful spirit] & even heroic ones like Serena [the good demonness debuted in MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero & was rescued from enslavement by Bi-Han as Sub-Zero before the icy cryomancer became shadow wraith Noob Saibot upon being resurrected by Quan Chi after being slain by Scorpion] and Ashrah [she was a demon, but essentially purged all of her evil impulses to basically become a "Fallen Angel" vigilante clad in white seeking a method to escape the literal Hell that is the Netherealm]), sorcerers (Shang Tsung & Quan Chi), imperfect clones (Mileena, the fusion of Kitana's Edenian DNA combined with the ferocity of Baraka's Tarkatan race, hence the maw of razor-sharp teeth [Making Johnny's "Did Baraka & Kitana get busy" quip from MKX actually rather accurate, since it was Baraka's Tarkatan seed which led to Mileena's creation once Shang Tsung combined it to Kitana's Edenian beauty]), vampires (Nitara), succubus (Skarlet), reincarnated dinosaurs (Reptile & both the male Chameleon as well as the female Khameleon), cannibals (Baraka's Tarkatan race [in the most recent lore from MK 1, the Tarkatans weren't a native race of Outworld like they were in year's past, they were instead just a oppressed society horribly infected with the deadly Tarkat disease, which quickly transformed them into mindless, savage cannibals led by the smartest among them, Baraka]), rivaling gangs (Black Dragon [led by Kano] VS Red Dragon), etc.
takeda actually wasnt that popular, from what i remember. He became popular because he had the coolest combos and was the best out of the kombat kids competitively.
I believe when NR first thought up Erron Black an initial idea was for them to be female. This gave me an idea for a New Era version of the cowboy bounty hunter. Here he did exist and was a former Earthrealm representative in a MK tournament, only for him to decide not to return home and become a neutral bounty hunter in other realms. There he had a child of his own, a girl called Erin Black who now follows in his footsteps. A descent rather than returning character she could be a different take on the gunslinger concept, maybe using a crossbow and magic talismans rather than gun/grenades. While gender swaps are always contentious this could be a way to bring a version of “E Black” back.
Kronika should be a kameo, her kharacter model is already in the game
True, although it would kinda suck since they literate devoted zero time giving kameo characters any backstories. Kinda hate that the mighty Prince Goro and Motaro don’t have any explanation as to why they’re there. I’m fine with Kano and Sonya being relegated to kameo status (their story has been done to death), but Stryker definitely needs another shot, and I’m really, really curious about Khameleon.
As much as we have the prior characters mention for either good or the bad, lets really go back to the og's for both kabal and stryker. In two timelines they got screwed over royally. First timeline he was a good guy in three but got shanked by mavado of all people and manipulated into being a bad baby sitter for shat characters. And my guy Stryker was barely present for most of midway and seamlessly forgotten in the reset trilogy cause well screaming sindel killed him. As for his beef with mileena, lets all be honest its hilarious asf😂 all i can simply hope for when these two appear is for them to have a much better role to play. Hell even nightwolf needs some justice since he really got cooked in the reset by both si del and shang tsung. 😢😢 yeah im a stryker main just hanging on at this point
I’d love for Stryker to be more than just a kameo character! Just a regular police man caught up in crazy ass demons, gods, Tarkatans, and all the insanity with nothing but determination and a gun to see him through. I would also LOVE to see my favorite cowboy Erron Black make a return… Maybe make him be half Edenian to explain his unnaturally long life-span and make him be an ACTUAL cowboy from the Old West times instead of just a Black Dragon member with a cowboy obsession. Or maybe a full blood Edenian who spent time in Earthrealm during the Wild West and it just made a huge impression on him?
@oberonthedragon888 erron blacks whole lore in prior was structured by shang tsung. To return, he's gonna need a whole new reason for existing for said amount of time. I'd say more like he was a prisoner of seido before the flood for invalid realm transfer and was awaiting trial and was only freed when the flood hit
I hope they steer away from the multiverse after this game to focus on this new era and lore. Otherwise, if they double down on the multiverse, none of this speculation matters because they could just pull any character from any universe as many times as they want. I think they'll go with the latter, unfortunately.
Why? The possibilities are endless with multiverse stuff. I do agree, though, I’d like to see more new era characters that are completely new and not just rehashes of original era characters. Be kinda neat to see a female Nightwolf who has some of OG Nightwolf’s moves but some moves all her own, since Nightwolf is a mantle and not a name.
@@oberonthedragon888 The multiverse just leads to lazy writing, things get too convoluted and the lore gets ruined. Just look at how the MCU took a huge down turn after the multiverse was introduced. All stakes in the story don't matter anymore.
@@pggalantd All stakes in MK never really mattered anyway, because even before the time-travel nonsense, Midway often brought back characters who should've been dead (MK Trilogy having TWO Bi-Hans [classic Sub-Zero & Noob Saibot] as well as unmasked Kuai Lang [younger Sub-Zero following Bi-Han's death], Johnny Cage keeps getting resurrected despite officially dying originally before the 2nd game [NRS spared their rebooted Johnny this fate when Raiden killed Motaro in MK9], Liu Kang being playable in both his undead zombie & human skins, etc.).

The special forces need not be introduced in a game like this. They were always just space savers but never fit the game's ambiance. Make them the gadget earthrealmers given their technology not by the military but by the tech genius they call Nightwolf who deserves to be in every game as his ancestry has a lot to do with the visions. Fujin should never be absent from Raiden. Cetrion deserves to be in and could be the one who protects the planeteers like Raiden in MK11 and all games before. Erron Black should be an earthrealmer with maybe some magic bullets or something. Kung Jin I would like to see return.

@@SoulfulDawgcould kinda argue aftermath is a soft reboot since it’s basically the mk9 way to diverging from the original path of what happened originally to a new path entirely, for mk11’s original story.
Not to mention, once aftermath happens, they never go back to the timeline of the original mk11 story. Then after that, mk1 happens straight after

Maybe in the original movie, but in the games, he lost his arms and had cybernetic replacements. Sleeves can’t change into blades T-1000 style to chop people up (one of cyborg Jax’s old Fatalities). That’s one way they could switch things up; make the arms be more like armor instead of limb replacement, make him like Iron Jax instead of Robo Jax, if they decide to make him more than just a kameo.

He lost them in between the 2nd & 3rd game (or rather, UMK3, since the regular vanilla version of MK3 didn't have any of the assassins [sans Kuai Lang as maskless Sub-Zero & the cyber Lin Kuei robots Cyrax & Sektor], which would include retro Sub-Zero [Bi-Han before getting killed by Scorpion], Noob Saibot [Bi-Han as a shadow demon following his resurrection by Quan Chi], Ermac [the composite of multiple souls fused into one being devised to serve Outworld's Emperor, with one of these poor souls being Sindel's original husband & Kitana's biological father King Jerrod of Edenia], and even the mascot of the franchise, Scorpion [the vengeful specter form of Hanzo Hashasi being manipulated by Quan Chi], whereas they were added to UMK3), just like how Johnny Cage was originally killed before the official tournament in the 2nd game (MK II) had begun, but was resurrected by Raiden strictly to the smug movie star fighter's soul being unable to move on because of the Earthrealm invasion by Outworld disrupting the connection fallen mortals have to the afterlife.
