    Finally, something I know something about! 😂 I cut stained glass for frames, mosaics, and kilned ornaments. I have a couple of cutters like the one you used, and a few pistol grips- which I prefer because they are easier for me to use. (Don't forget to oil the wheel because they tend to rust) You did a very good job explaining the cutting/ scoring process so a first timer should be able to cut glass like a pro. I work mostly with 12x12 glass so I make the breaks with my hands unless it's too close to the edge, then I'll use running pliers. I've never cut a large piece like yours, but the process is the same. Sorry about the crack, it happens to all of us. For me, there is something satisfying in hearing the zipping sound of scoring glass. Many Blessings!!

    Thanks for the demo Patrick! I thought it was a great primer for somebody who wanted to know how to replace a pane of glass. Don't be offended but you would be an excellent instructor for so many things. Not everybody that has a skill can teach somebody else to perform that skill. You are very good at explaining things in terms most people can understand. Enjoyed the video. Phil

      Appreciate the feedback Phil. I'm just a simple guy explaining things...simply. It takes a fair amount of thought to explain things and be thorough. I try to explain things in a manner that allows me to think "out loud" and answer any questions that I might have myself if I was just learning. No, not offended at all. 👍

    No Pat, that wasn't a chuckle... that was a serious cringe... happened to me too. A buddy of mine back in high school and college used to make Tiffany Lamps and Stained Glass Windows He told me to always dip the cutter in light machine oil before starting a cut. Either clear packing tape on both sides of the break, or Crazy Glue in it... will still give you years of service...

    • @MrRain-hk4zi
      @MrRain-hk4zi Před 2 lety

      Good question, it would. A tile saw would work better if you had access to one. The break is generally rougher but you can use a concrete block and "sand" down the edges.
