Check your facts on this one. The game A A said that took place in 1907 is on record as having taken place in 1911 in Cologne. I have another game played by the two at the same time and place which was drawn. O T said he played against AA in a drawn game.

Since the two games are alike, one could be a derivation or alternative of the other.... Move 10 differs ... Qe7 instead of 10 ... Ne5 etc
Tenner was starting his chess career. He peaked young in 1914 and after moving to the US around 1922. His EDO (ELO) slowly declined until his death in 1948. I am looking for chess events in Cologne which took place in 1911 and so far have only found one in the mid summer lasting a couple of weeks in which neither AA or OT is mentioned. Still researching. This may have been played in a 3 game simul in which A A won all three, or 2.5/3.0 depending on how this game actually turned out.
Or it was just another dude with the same name as Tenner.
I thought that Alekhine's best game is his triple queen sacrifice in Efim Bogoljubov vs Alexander Alekhine 1922 Hastings tournament. Pretty nice game.

It could've been a mistake of misremembering who he played the game played against. Especially if the name was similar. If it was an amateur player, it makes even more sense.
It’s possible he might have played the game against an unknown amateur thinking his name was Tenner. Classic mix up. Especially since Tenner didn’t even know him.

I love this game even if it was fake. When I saw the possibility of queen sacrifice with knight capture, I suspected that might work... although if I had played it, I am sure I would never have found checkmate and would simply have looked stupid losing my queen!

Alekhine made a lot of enemies, Denker and Fine in particular, in part because he had published a few Anti-Jewish articles for the Nazis. Fine got a lot of revenge when he published a book on the Psychoanalysis of Chess Champions. Fine's Chapter on Alekhine is the stuff that provokes violence.
Let's put it this way, the word "Pervert" is a compliment compared to the things Fine wrote about Alekhine.

I grew up with Alekhine's best games books and he might be my favourite player. Nevertheless, it is widely believed that his famous "five queens" game (v Grigoriev, Moscow 1915), also mentioned in vol. 1, is also fabricated.

No, no. Alekhines Rh6!!! Is the only move that wins in a French Defense that Alekhine more than likely choreographed. There are FOUR queens on the board and the best move wasn't even with a queen but a quiet rook move! Alekhines LOVE for the game was SECOND TO NONE.
