    I have been researching for hours on how to upgrade my 2015 M3 IGT to LED or HID bulbs. I have the projector housings but halogen bulbs. I did a custom headlight assembly project on my 2004 ranger a few years ago. I learned a lot (forgot a lot since then) But I don't want to go through that headache since I have the housings already and it should be a plug and play application. Your product is the answer!

    Will these LED lights blind on-coming traffic? Or are the projector housings sufficient in the 2014 Mazda 3 to direct the extra light down?

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  Před 8 lety +1

      Thank you for your interest. Projector housings have a physical object in the housing to make a strict cutoff line to ensure there is no glare projecting into oncoming drivers eyes. Also, it is more or less the color of the light which causes distraction and not the actual brightness intensity itself. If you notice, the most distracting lights to see on the road are the blue HID lights which cause a lot of glare for the human eye, whereas you probably never noticed the 6000K or 8000K lights on the road because they are more natural to the human eye.

  • @Jo060
    @Jo060 Před 6 lety +1

    Good video. Out of curiosity why do I see some LED set ups that is just the bulb (with a larger metal base than stock) that plugs directly in the harness and done vs a setup like yours that plugs into to wires and has a box. What's the difference?

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  Před 6 lety +2

      The difference is that a more powerful LED bulb requires a ballast in order to regulate the power that is being pulled from the battery and redirected to the LED system. The LEDs that do not come with a ballast are less powerful / bright lights.

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  Před 7 lety +1

      Thank you for your interest. Yes, the CREE Headlamp Kit would increase your nighttime driving visibility by 2-3x. Also, no, you would not need any additional products. The package linked in the description comes with everything you will need to upgrade your halogen lows to LED without any issue.

    @ERIC_YNWA Před 7 lety

    Does the same method work for the daytime running lights with the high beam?

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  Před 7 lety

      If your DRLs project from the same bulb as your highs, then upgrading your high beam to LED would also upgrade your DRLs to LED. The installation process is virtually identical to as shown in the video, and you can find the proper high beam product here: www.precisionled.com/premium-9005-cree-hl-gl-headlight-led.html

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  Před 7 lety +1

      If your DRL lights project from the same bulb as your high beam, you would want to install a CREE H11 kit, as it is a much more powerful LED. If your DRLs project from an independent bulb, then you can install the 21SMD H11 LED. Direct product links: www.precisionled.com/shop-by-bulb/exterior-leds/h11-led.html

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  Před 6 lety

      Yes, this also applies to the GS model. If your DRLs project from the same bulb as your lows, then upgrading your low beams will also upgrade your DRLs. Same goes for your high beam, if your highs project the DRLs.

  • @sebastiangomez6483

    Would this work on my 2018 Mazda 3 if so, the ones that you change are just the low beams, right?

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  Před 6 lety

      Unfortunately, we do not have the 2018 headlight fitments listed in our database just yet. However, if your headlights are the same H11 fitment used in the video, the installation process would be identical to as shown in this video. You can find this information by reading through your Owner's Manual, or by physical looking at your bulb.
      Also, yes, you would change out just the low beams.

However, there are many factors and many upgrades to headlight housings over the years that help mitigate any glare to oncoming drivers. What about the Mazda3 model with the Bi-Xenon adaptive headlight? Will it work?

      The Mazda 3 with Bi-Xenon headlights come with stock LEDs, so no this installation is not compatible, and HIDs and LEDs are not interchangeable.

    Why not just take the whole wheel well cover off? Now it looks jacked up.

      It is not necessary to remove the entire wheel well to access the headlamp bulb. However, if you prefer to do so, that would not be a problem as well.

      That is correct, you do not need to cut any wires or modify anything, as we only sell high quality plug-and-play kits.

    Is there no way to connect the bulb from above and not the wheel well? Is that how they replace an oem bulb?

      It is possible, however, there would be very little room to work with. The wheel well would be the easiest way to access the headlamp.
