I have a 2015 mazda 3. I have bought the 9005 led bulbs and it looks like I need this harness. I just recently learned that 1 bulb functions as both the high beam and DRL. Blew my mind lol. Are you saying that even if I hook this up right, during the day, my DRL is essentially a high beam going full blast instead of the half powered DRL?
If you hook the harness up, the brightness of DRL is the same as high beam, instead of half powered DRL. All of the LED bulbs on the market have the same issue, because DRL and high beam work on a same bulb, but the voltage of DRL is lower.
Can you use these on the 2014 model or is it not needed
Guys this is perfect, I'm about to do this very thing on the same car and replacing my hids that never worked plus was a cheap set. So any tips for someone un-installing their 9005 hid kit?
Otherwise super excited to switch to led and have the drls back with the resistors I got with the kit!
Hi, we're not sure what HID kits you installed on your car. Usually, you need to remove the HID bulb and the ballast.

You need two resistors for high beam bulbs. These resistors solve the flickering issue only. The DRL brightness will be the same as high beam
I've got a 2018 Mazda 3 50th Anniversary Edition, and this kit doesn't seem to work. I have it all plugged in properly but they don't light up at all. No DRLs, no brights.
Plz flip over the plug and reconnect. Because for some vehicles, the factory plug polarity is opposite.

only problem will be if you have a new car and you take your car in for a routine maintenance and they find out you put led lights in it will automatically void your warranty
I have hid and led's installed and it hasnt voided any warranty when its been in for work

Might depend on the dealership. I have my 2016 mazda leased and still bring it in with LEDs and other added stuff an they don't really care.
I dont think it will void the warranty since you didnt really make any changes on the cars wiring. No splicing done or wiring tap. This is more like a plug and play.
