    I was able to change the passenger headlight unit by just popping out the bumper in the wheel well, then pulling the top grill pins and just lifting it back enough to get to the bolts in the side and top. No need to remove the entire bumper and grill like this.

    To be honest, unless you were getting a different style or the lens was cracked or something, completely useless to buy a new one. I just removed mine a month ago to restore with a restore kit, looks BRAND NEW. The restore kit included the the drill attachment with foam backing w/ Velcro and the all the sandpaper. I think it was 120grit, then 600, then 3000 wet, then polish with a glaze. Something like that. I forget the exact grit sizes. Kit was $25. And since whether you restore or replace you have to remove them, although you could leave them on to restore, just a pain, the time it took to restore was maybe an hour. But it was a fun and satisfying hour. Would definitely do again for the fun. I know you hear a lot of people say "it doesn't work. It just reyellows". That's because the uv coating is gone. You need to a clear coat spray paint with uv protection built in. So a can is about $18. So say under $50 after tax. You could've save a couple hundred dollars and got a mod: rear sway bars (great improvement), fog lights with change leftover, window tints, etc.
    Tip: Dill ONLY. Throught I could get away with using my die grinder, burned the plastic 😂. Luckily I was doing quick test passes and didn't burn through too bad. Started over, got it out, didn't make the same mistake on the other headlight

    @ 43:10 why would you tighten that screw to the fender? The bumper cover is suppose to be screwed into it

    Hey there, I have factory upper trim on my 2016 but condensation started to fill in, somewhere is badly sealed. did you sealed yours or why did you change it? What was the cause for haisyness in the first place?
    Anyhow good video about all the fun places. Full day of work almost :)

      So condensation inside the lens means you have a crack or a bad seal (o-ring). The yellowing and oxidation of the lexan is due to UV exposure over years.

      @@qcsbuilds5708 thx for the quick response. I would need to do almost the same thing as you did, just to apply little bit silicone or get new rubber gasket ring how are to call it.

      @@Shandaniak that's it, if you've got to pull them out to reseal or find the crack, it's really just faster and easier to buy the whole thing.

      Really liked the video. You happen to know how I would covert a hid setup to halogen? The reflector for the hid is destroyed and I don't have 830 bucks for a new housing. I've got a new housing $83 but it's for base halogen rig. Thanks much.

      @@odeqchem did the hid kit come with the adaptor harness? If so it's plug and play.
      Otherwise a volt meter is your best friend.

    do you have to adjust the head lights after the change out.

    • @qcsbuilds5708
      @qcsbuilds5708  Před rokem

      Yes. There are two screws to adjust the vertical and horizontal pitch

    Do you think this could be done without removing the fasteners along the bottom of the bumper? Just letting the top hang open and reaching in ? Thanks!

    • @qcsbuilds5708
      @qcsbuilds5708  Před 2 lety

      Not without cracking the paint on the bumper, and I don't think you could get the grill pins to roll out like that.

    So basically go to a mechanic….🥲

      I think it really depends on how much time you have. Takes a good 3-4 hours.

      I feel you. I don't have the parts required. I need to replace the driver side headlight because it's cracked and I have no faith I could pull this off myself.

      @AceVenturaWhenNatureCalls You can simply buy the headlight plastic cover also called lens. Then have someone to remove the lens and install the new one and keep the headlight system.
