My technician said it would take at least 5 days to fix, but this man did it in just 1 hour. 😮
Thank you for your awesome help ❤
This is helpful for me to prepare my 65" TCL TV to replace the mainboard. Not sure my issue is backlite. My tv works fine for about 3 - 4 hours then the screen flickers and goes black. I have sound with no problem.
That can be either the power supply or the backlights. Something is causing the backlight section of the power supply to shutdown.
Are you installing a new power supply or reusing the same one ?
My friends and I got together to help me fix my TCL TV. Admittingly the LEDs weren't actually dead when we got to them. But for whatever reason, reassembling it seemed to get it working again. Thank you for this tutorial! It was super helpful!!
@@AFoxOnTheInternet you might have a weak power supply or and intermittently failed LED that's dependent on temperature. Fingers crossed that it just needed a "stern talking to."
You should have used a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive. Would make it so much easier to get off.
Is it necessary to release the circuits and wires in the back? Is there a part of the panel connected to the backlight area?
@@kimjenkins4926 depends on the spacing of the mounting lugs for the TV. If the wall mount lugs are not spaced far enough apart the panel frame tends to be very flimsy, and will warp when you're trying to install the new back lights. You don't have to but sometimes it's better to take the 5 to 10 minutes and just do it.
K….K…..K….. man this was hard to watch.
Love how there is essentially a design or component that’s so fragile that the whole tv is garbage if it breaks lol
Just fixed my TV, with the help of your video, and everything is working now. Thank you for the detailed explanation :)
Thank you! Just fixed my Samsung QN75Q6DRAFXZA! About $50 and 4 hours of my time, but much cheaper than a new TV. Never did figure out how to get that IR sensor / power button off, but I was able to leave it attached to the frame
Great job on the warning with the ribbon slip, alot if tutorials they fail to mention it my first I I did that damaged far left ribbon only left end about 2 inches black where ribbon ripped, ever since then I now avoid that mistake when fixing leds, and mention it in comments on several tutorials
To anyone: My samsung qled 65" qn65q70aafxza had this issue initially (half screen is black). I was going to follow this video as it has the same issue, but know ALL of my screen is black with a little bit of flickering on the bottom part when turned on. Do guys think that it is still an LED back light issue? Or is it something else?
Does this apply on Samsung qled QN65QN85AAFXZA?
That's a neo q LED. The panel tear down is about the same the back lights power ever are different. Backlight removal is going to be more like The TCL video where there will be strips.
I just bought my TCL Roku tv not even 2 years ago and already the back light went out. It took me that long to save to get the tv. 😡 TCL should pay for cost of repairs to put in the new back light. As for now I am out over $800
I feel you if it's on 24/7 or 8 hours a day... yeah they don't last very long.
Where did you get the LED backlights for this tv i have the same one so i would like to get the same ones you have! Great job by the way!
ShopJimmy.com
Are the buffer boards replaceable?
They're part of the panel. So yes but only if you order a whole new panel assembly.
1.5 years and my did the same thing. Will not buy a Samsung TV again
I have the tcl 65s455. Backlights just failed. If i unplug tv and plug it in the screen will quickly flicker the 4k them back to dark. I can see screen with flash light. What backlights do i need to order from where?
Shopjimmy.com just put your model number in
Spent 2 and a half hours and my TV is fixed, works like nothing ever happened. Thank you man, brilliant job explaining everything!
Are you an expert? It seems like every TCL TV I buy. Just after the warranty expires. The backlight goes out 🤔 There's a lot of fragile parts. I'm afraid of breaking something. For now I'm without a TV 😔
I don't know if I'd necessarily call myself an expert I just been working on TVs for 15 years. Tcl's if you run them 8 to 10 hours a day then more than likely the backlight is probably going to go out within the first two years. They're just not built the last forever. However they're not super hard to change the back lights out in The biggest thing is the glass. There's usually a little bit of adhesive holding the glass to the inner frame so you do have to be careful getting it separate.
@@qcsbuilds5708 I don't think I have what it takes to fix this TV. I'm stuck in between a rock and a hard place. I either pay someone to fix it or buy a new TV altogether 🤔
@@randomtube8226 well on a TCL you're probably better off just to buy a new one
Idk how.. but I did it. Thanks!
I didn't have suction cups so I put double sided tape on my hands to lift the screen lol.
Damn this video had potential. Camera man needed
Eine sehr gute Erklärung ,sehr ausführlich leicht verständlich ,und man spart sich eine teure repartur im Fachhandel
You can save on the suction cups too if you use tooth floss to "saw" the adhesive between the screen and the frame
17:07 - I'm pausing here and gonna come back when I'm more ready. Someone had one of these TVs by the road this afternoon and I brought it home to see what was wrong with it. Took me a few to find a compatible power cord. The backlight on the right side when you're looking at the screen is out (opposite yours), otherwise it's fine. Is there any difference between the the backlight parts? Or is it the same on both sides? I want to make sure I get the right part. Because, of course, FREE MONSTER TV! 🙀😹 EDIT: Nevermind... I shopped the part and they come as a pair. Continuing watching 😅
You want to change them as a pair. Otherwise you'll be doing it again within a year.
@@qcsbuilds5708 thank you. I was assuming as much when I saw the setup. I've done countless computer repairs and definitely learned THAT lesson 😅
Fits LGA 1200 also!
IT IS NOT QLED BUT NORMAL LED TV CORNER??QLED HAVE SMALL REFLECTOR LEDS TUR ON OFF INDEPENDENTLY/IF ONE LED BURN OTHERS LEDS WORK AND TV IS OK
Thanks for helpful video - especially PCI E Link Width 13:04 that dials PCIx16 into 4x4x4x4, Assume that (having brought ASrock Sega Z790 - not build PC Yet ) manual does not mention PCI-E Link Width or pc pcie bifurcation (Dividing lanes into 4 EG) anywhere I cannot install this PCI-E Hypercard and if I did it will only see 1 M2 Slot (from expansion card).
You might verify with AsRock Support and see if that board supports PCIe Bifurcation. I looked through the manual and couldn't find the option. I've only ever seen 4x4x4x4 in server and workstation boards. I know AMD AM4/5 boards will support 8x4x4 on some models.
@@qcsbuilds5708 Thanks for info and handy video
Thanks OP - Heard back from Asrock Support, With this Mobo Sega Z790 only Single M2 Slot PCI E can be used and detected in Bios / Windows in any / all of the PCI-E xpress slots (3) - so in theory up to 3 additional M2's could be added -
I just used a lego pry piece and was able to take the back off easily.
Those edge clips can be snapped loose easier if you gently tap the clip areas with the side of a screwdriver handle while lifting. The action of tapping causes the snaps to loosen with less strain than lifting and jiggling. BTW, those "ribbon cables" are called "FPC" of flex-printed-circuits.
IT IS NOT QLED BUT NORMAL LED TV CORNER??QLED HAVE SMALL REFLECTOR LEDS TUR ON OFF INDEPENDENTLY
I had the same issue with my 65 samsung I changed the led it works but after couple minutes it’s burned again, do you know what is bad the power supply or the main board?
The power supply is what actually controls the voltage to the back lights. So I would change that it keeps blowing LEDs
@@qcsbuilds5708 thank you Sir for the quick response, is there any way to diagnose the power supply? thank you
@@imadpola6782 no
Used this video as a guide to successfully replace the backlights and power board in our TCL Roku 43S435 when the screen went black. We had sound, and using the flashlight test could tell there was a picture there, we just couldn't see it. We did not have any testing equipment to determine which was bad, the lights or the part of the power board that powers the lights; although from what I hear it was most likely the light strip. Since ours was a smaller TV it was slightly less complicated. Frame is all one piece, no tape around the edges to peel away, only 1 backlight strip. We did not have the suction cup glass lifting things, but were able to pick up the screen with our hands (not endorsing that, just fyi).
Thank you so much !! You just save me to pay $800 dollars to get fix it or buy new tv , mine was 2 years old 75” QELD !!! Paid $32 eBay for the backlights strips then installed and now works perfect !! Awesome tutorial video !! 👍🏼🙏
My led.65c815.LPG SHEET.burn from backlight side.plz confirm me where it awailable.can u delivered .Pakistan islamabad
That's a factory only part.
For anyone that tried this guide, how long did it take you to complete the repair?
Is it one or two strips? I got 2 with my order
Two right and left
Is it just me thats concerned that a tv not even 2 yrs old requires this type of repair? Or does it depend on usage hours and type of usage?
Exactly that. Depending on how many hours you have it on and depending on if you runit on vivid picture mode, or standard or movie mode, it makes a big difference in the longevity of the LEDs.
Hello, good work with the channel. I was thinking about purchasing this mini pc and wanted to ask if it is good for emulation. I want to play playstation 2 at 1080p without problems. It's possible? Thank you!
Great video! I managed to replace the backlight on my 65" Q60R following this guide. Thanks!!

How do u remove what called LBS cables? because I’m afraid I may break if I pull on it
I found on CZcams 👌🏼
The lvds cables are just a standard ribbon cable. If you look at the connector it should have a little black tab on it that lifts up that's lock. Then just gently slide the cable out usually there's a little blue pull tab.
Do really have remove the boards to replace LEDs???
No... But you do have to disconnect the cables from the main board to the panel.
if the plasic difuser screen had led burt on bottom is it okay to flip it 180 so the burn marks are on top
No because if you notice the diffuser is etched like a piece of fiber optic. Best thing to do is clean and scratch off with a razor the burnt edge as clean as you can.
@@qcsbuilds5708what would happen if you did flip it would the picture be blury or not work i am wondering is that for all tvs or qled tvs.
Edge lit
Really good tutorial 👌. However I managed to Crack my screen trying to remove it without suction cups. Oh well. Chalk it up to a learning experience.
Hey very interesting video. I am not sure this is something I could attempt without breaking something, but it was very informative. I have a Samsung frame QN65LS03BAFXZA, and Samsung service was not helpful at all. 16 months after purchase and they are telling me I’m out of warranty and they have no local service so lots of luck, have a nice life. Before I try and find someone locally or do it myself, I was hoping you could help me figure out if it’s a panel or backlight issue. It’s a purple vertically oriented strip occupying 1/4 of the screen. I am assuming backlight but was hoping you could provide some input. Thanks.
Usually if you have any kind of color issue it's usually a panel aka LCD glass issue. And that's usually just replacing the TV altogether cuz it's almost as much to do that as it is to buy a panel and swap it. You had a dark spot then I would say it's backlight. But where it's a vertical bar basically I'm going to say it's very likely a panel.
Well damn you literally took the whole TV apart to do it.
Is it possible to clean the filters that sit on top of the diffuser for fingerprints and if so what do I need to use for it?
Yes just use a really good glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth
@@qcsbuilds5708 right on thanks a lot for the quick reply and for the video!
Thank you so much for this informative video! My wife and I were able to revive a TCL 65" thanks to this guide in about an hour and a half.
Brother, I need your help! 😢 drive.google.com/file/d/12VLuPQwvUih_lqL8hwQQdXWtraAoHHpF/view?usp=drivesdk While taking out my TV from wall mount, I pressed on the panel. And see, a vertical and horizontal line is appearing from that same spot. I’m really really stressed. Can you please suggest me what shall I do? TV: SAMSUNG RU7470 65”
Excellent video! But after watching this and having done LCDs and batteries for tablets and phones and the fact that my 2018 is now 6+ yrs old…this video let me decide it’s time to invest in a new TV instead. 😁
