The saddest part of youtube. The mindless channels get all the subscribers and treats. Where as the informative channels have to work really hard to get by.
Thanks for the video you do great work and keep it up!
Quality over quantity ;)
The Hentai Man Agreed, but channels that regularly get more views I.E. CaseyNeistat, pew die pie, and Good Mythical Morning just to name a few... They are making enough money for their creators to focus solely on youtube videos for income.
Yeah. This channel is great, and actually the first I've subscribed to. I binge watch channels and still don't subscribe to them. Honestly I want this channel to do good though, so I finally clicked that button.

Because our mind just tells ourselves "just do this am turn this in" and it's just a bland book and we've gotten more technology to make things such as documentaries and since we are SO used to entertainment like TV or Movies, we engage out brains to get more excited to watching a video about education rather than just reading a book that doesn't really make a good image in our minds while watching a video or tv special, it shows us a CLEAR picture of what happened, making it easier to understand
Bcuz it's on youtube
I’ll agree with that. I’ve learned way much more myself out of school than I ever did while I was going. That goes for most subjects to be honest. I love history and school really knows how to make it unbearable. Maybe the teachers/professors I’ve had weren’t really into it?
Because the purpose of school is not education but subjugation.
But this is still bullshit.
I love all your videos, Ruddy! I'd recommend doing the Russian Civil War in the future.

@@betos-08 Someone has been feeding you a shitload of lies and half truths, my dude.
And none of it changes the fact that the Civil War was started by the South when they thought that slavery was going to be abolished.
@@thelastholdout while slavery was definitely a large element of the war you miss the giant grey area that is all the other contributing factors, which in the video he mentioned.
@@isaacwebb6086 slavery was THE main factor for the Civil War happening. Everything else is of tertiary importance.
@@thelastholdout I agree. I was just stating the fact that even though it was absolutely heinous that doesn’t change the fact that the south’s infrastructure was based heavily on slavery. The north didn’t set up a plan to industrialize the south they just said “okay no more salves figure it out” the reconstruction of the south took years and painstaking years. It was only made worse by the fact that many of the working age men had died in the war.
I hate when people see this is
*America fights to keep slavery*
And not as
*America fights to end slavery*
Wasn’t anything about slavery though, it was about the south not wanting to become industrial, Abraham was losing the war so he used slaves to win.
I highly suggest you read Mississippi's declaration of secession
It’s neither both groups liked slavery to Abraham Lincoln ending slavery was a means to an end. And wanted to deport all the Africans by not letting them ever become citizens thankfully John Wilkesbooth killed him
@Charles Bullins the reason why the south seceeded is becaue they thought that lincoln was going to end slavery in the south completely. IRL he only wanted to stop it spreading though.
The declarations mentioned slavery 83 times. Tariffs - 0 times. And the federal government wasn't trying to abolish slavery. Saying "property" is the same as "states' rights". They're just euphemisms for slavery.
South: let’s make some trade deals with France and Brita-
Union: *Hissing intensifies*

“Can we have a gun?”
“NO!”
I don’t know how or why I laughed so much when I saw that XD
The 3/5's compromise always cracks me up. It's just so stupid.
Michael Henry my favorite part of that compromise is that slaves are referred to as people in the Constitution, even though the South attempted to maintain that they weren’t
the 5/5ths version would give slaveowners more representation, allowing it to spread west.
@@ThatGuy-te9wh Exactly the 3/5 was to not make slave owners too powerful right wingers forget the south didnt give slaves the right to vote.
Just to clear this up, the 3\5's compromise was put in place so that slaves in the south wouldn't count as a full citizen of those states so that the south would have less representation in congress. This was to give republicans more power over the south (all democrats) in congress. It wasn't about being racist it was about giving republicans a strategic advantage.
Franz Ferdinand Uh, just so ya know: when the 3/5 compromise was made there were no Republicans and Democrats. The 3/5 compromise was part of the Constitutional Convention that created this country. The Democrats were formed when Jefferson was president and the Republicans were formed in 1856.
This is my first video on your channel, and your focus on history and animation is a great combination. It immerses me so much more than just reading. Subbed.

Quote: "The Rebel Yell drove the Union forces back to Washington." WTF?
the early stages of the war, especially in VA....it is a metaphor as the army of northern VA and Confederate forces held their ground in places in northern VA. especially Fredericksburg.
though the rebel yell could have been used as a diversion for the forces the south had that were not even armed....the metaphor is more to show that the south fought back against the union well, especially considering that logistically, the south could not win this war. (ie, a blockade + limited supplies vs a fully industrialized nation.....the only really advantage the south had was more military academies and home advantage.....but even this alone isn't enough to win a war)
read into stonewall and Lee though, they were very dynamic generals that could win in losing situations...if you don't want to then that really is your loss for not looking into historical generals
Bleak House The confede charge battle cry was so terrifying that many union forces turned and ran out a fear.
that cartoon at the end was amazing and dont even tell me it wasn't about gun laws (10;47)
I like how he included a mention of brother vs brother at 9:30, cause several cases of that exact event happened after Lee’s surrender.

"If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that." - Abraham Lincoln. Oversimplified indeed. The Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves in only seceding states, but left loyal slave owning states alone to continue the practice as well as northern captured confederate states. The proclamation was in effort to thwart any potential countries in Europe from joining the confederate cause which would have turned the tide in a much different direction. There was nothing inherently good about slavery, but no one at the time actually cared to free them except for a small handful of people.
That being said, the freeing of the slaves was the right thing to do, but we shouldn't conflate that freedom with Abraham Lincoln "good will" in this way.
This line is always taken out of context. Your bias ignores literally all other evidence on the contrary. Lincoln, as president couldn't abolish slavery. It was protected in the constitution. The EP was a technical loop hole by executive order. Lincoln, although temporary, had set a precedent. the EP freed only salves in federal territory because that was all he could legally do. Congress would eventually need to legislate the abolition of slavery-as it eventually did. Lincoln was personally against slavery his entire life and was the whole catalyst for the Republican party from which he was elected. His duty, as the President was to preserve the union during the war. Please take at least 10 minutes to educate yourself before you go regurgitating this nonsense on the internet.
@@Sforschondetta this man is right. The original post is commonly taken out of context by revisionist historians sympathetic to the south.
@@Sforschondetta I'm genuinely curious, what is the context missing from the statement? Because just from the wording it sounds pretty damning. If you can explain to me this missing context, it would certainly change my view of Lincoln. However, given this statement, the (admittedly disputed) "Root, hog, or die" story, and the fact that he never did anything about Illinois's anti-black laws, it seem to me that 'Southern sympathisers' have Lincoln's character measured quite fairly.
Well said, thank you for your comment. Being Australian, I don’t learn much American history in school. Your info is valued - much appreciated.
