Hallelujah, Praise be to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. This hymn reminds me of my ordination as a Deacon 35 years ago, by the then Bishop of Johannesburg in South Africa. Glory to God.
Looking back at my Christian journey and what this song means to me, there's no time I listen this hymn that I dont shed tears of joy. The words ring true meaning even till this day. I've been a Christian for like 30 years and the song still has the same effect on me. Thank you dear Lord for taking my place on the cross and for your victory over death. Indeed, your praise will never ever cease from my mouth.
It’s heartwarming to see people of all ages singing with gusto together and feeling that joy and community in faith ......we must oppose secularism at all costs ....the love of Christ was , is and should be the backbone of our country ......stand up for Jesus .....our Rock
Marvellous, this is my only hymn, I have no nation on this earth, no other patriotic hymn but this, I have only You, my King, my Savior, my Lord, my Friend Jesus, amen forever to thee an thy Father
Indeed!! Crown HIM THE LORD OF LORDS and KING OF KINGS !! Oh How amazing, so glorious such singing with a brilliant musical ensemble,. when shall we again hear such singing in these perilous times? Feeling very sad and nostalgic! Perhaps never? until we together sing in Eternal glory to the Potentate of Time.
And when our Lord and Saviour comes, He will give to each of us a white robe and we will lift our voices in worship, in praise, in adoration, in gratitude, in love and let all creation know that HE is our Lord and our God.
Alleluia! So good to hear and appreciate this choir and so many other choirs with singing in togetherness and harmony to heal aching souls around the world - dear singers en joy yourselves
I once heard the might of this song of praise whist driving back from Brighton to London on the car radio of my Sunbeam MK III Saloon in 1977. Aboard was my fiancée, and her friend. It was a song that encompassed everything which came to pass with blessings.
Revelation 4:10-11 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
God bless us and filled us with God spirit. Think good, speak good and do good always in your life coz it is your own body or soul. Thanks God for the gifts of wisdom I'm sharing with you all. From Lani D. Nepomuceno, Philippines

1 Crown him with many crowns, the Lamb upon his throne. Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own. Awake, my soul, and sing of him who died for thee, and hail him as thy matchless king through all eternity. 2 Crown him the Lord of life, who triumphed o'er the grave, and rose victorious in the strife for those he came to save; his glories now we sing who died and rose on high, who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die. 3 Crown him the Lord of love; behold his hands and side, rich wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified; no angels in the sky can fully bear that sight, but downward bends their burning eye at mysteries so bright. 4 Crown him the Lord of years, the potentate of time, creator of the rolling spheres, ineffably sublime. All hail, Redeemer, hail! for thou hast died for me; thy praise shall never, never fail throughout eternity.
Blessed are these people who particiapted in this activity. I wish I were there too. Does Britain do this every year? When? Is there a fee to be able to join this choir? I hope someone could tell me.
Crown him the Lord of love; behold His hands and side, rich wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified; no angels in the sky can fully bear that sight, but downward bends their burning eye at mysteries so bright.
And i saw ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands praising god saying worthy art thou to recieve riches and honor and glory.Prophesy fullfilled.Peter Carlos Hinds.

Hmmm🤔 it looks like they fell behind at the beginning from following the conductor. But, you guys still did a well job. Can I sign up for this orchestra?
Where was this concert located? Is it in the UK? All of the music that you post truly blesses me. I am so thankful that there are Christians around the world who are still praising God through the hymns of the faith.
Apparently we're all to ignorant to understand the word "Thee" and "O'er" but phrases like "Potentate of time" are simple enough to be left in. This version robbed has been of its lyrical majesty.
The Royal Albert Hall, London, England. Planned by Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert. However, he died before it could be completed, so they decided to name it after him. It is the most famous concert hall in the United Kingdom. Opened by Queen Victoria in 1871.
Applause may be interpreted in several ways: One is in appreciation of approval for those who have sung or performed. Another, and one sometimes overlooked, is for the truth, beauty, feeling, and message for what the song expresses to those who listen and hear. Kleber, this is in no way a criticism of your belief, but possibly another way of expressing joy in a applause of praise. Perhaps, also, is the environment in which each of us has been raised is more open or restrictive to the interpretation of applause.
Wendy, you are addressing the wrong person because what I have written is exactly the same as what you have expressed. I was simply saying that some areas, because of being more conservative, are less apt to express their feelings vocally. Either way is fine, and I am not criticizing you or anyone else for their choice. Sorry if I didn't express this clearly enough.
Justine Vollert Not exactly sure the year (probably within the last 10 years) but the UK does this every year. BBC Songs of Praise holds a ‘Big Sing’ which is often held, as it is here, in the Albert Hall in London.
I’m not so snobby that I don’t mind drums being added to hymns, but it kind of takes the sense of majesty away in this rendition. That last verse was just too fast.

Is this the original version?
Makes me cry every time...
Blessed are these people who particiapted in this activity. I wish I were there too. Does Britain do this every year? When? Is there a fee to be able to join this choir? I hope someone could tell me.
It is called The great sing and the venue is the Royal Albert Hall in London. To the best of my knowledge is a yearly gathering.
Glory Haleluya!!!
Sr. Director, esa percusión está fuera de lugar, es un himno glorioso, porque suena su batería en cada compás???!!!
Jesus, our beloved King, reigns eternally.
A great old Methodist hymn! ~~
Beautiful.. but how did they manage NOT to include "Crown him the Lord of LOVE, behold his hands and side...."
Crown him the Lord of love;
behold His hands and side,
rich wounds, yet visible above,
in beauty glorified;
no angels in the sky
can fully bear that sight,
but downward bends their burning eye
at mysteries so bright.

Jesus is the Rock of Ages.
Dia Nobatkanlah...Amin.
My class don't believe that this song exist.
Where was this concert located? Is it in the UK? All of the music that you post truly blesses me. I am so thankful that there are Christians around the world who are still praising God through the hymns of the faith.

Ian Michael Smith
Mine was the thousandth "like" :0 !

The people honour me with their lips
But their hearts are far from me!
Apparently we're all to ignorant to understand the word "Thee" and "O'er" but phrases like "Potentate of time" are simple enough to be left in. This version robbed has been of its lyrical majesty.
Pragtig.
Be very careful much of the original lyrics of this beautiful hymn was altered. Read the text of the original version!
Omg 😍
Problem is after the 5th crown it gets a bit heavy
WHERE IS THIS?? PLEASE! I HAVE TO GO THERE!

What event is this??
The Big Sing as shown at the very end.
Marvelous! But it's not right to clap hands!

Ralph Varner Make a joyful noise to the Lord! Let each one give glory to God in a way that seems fitting to him!

Completely spoiled by the percussion. It's a not a tune that works well with percussion. Just get rid of the drummer!!!
Says who? Read Psalm 47.
Why oh why mess with the wording of the last verse? Otherwise a great rendition.
These aren’t the lyrics I remember?
Where was this and when

hmm cut out the orchestra and the rock beat, charge up the biggest organ in the uk sat there doing nothing
Drums and percussion spoil the song causing a rushing rhythm
1) Who wrecked the words? 2) Why abuse a great Hymn with a drummer. Brass fair enough, and where was the organ? Couldn't hear it.
