    I love it how when people sing, it doesn’t matter what country they’re from or the accent they have. They all simply harmonize and sound like one beautiful choir.

      Not all American churches do that. I'm part of a small Anglican Church plant in Austin,Texas and we sing a respectful blend of old and new, mostly old hymns. The new we do sing is good new.

      +Christie Thompson Visited church for the first time since I left it. What a letdown! No processional, no choir, no use of the hymnal, no dress code. A "band" urged us to "get with the spirit" and sang one song endlessly in American Idol fashion. The "hymns" were on a teleprompter and sounded like nursery school ditties and the organ could barely be heard above the drums. If god was a cell phone folks were certainly getting in touch,

    Magnificent ! This represents the best of the English tradition of church singing: a large cathedral or (in this case) abbey church full of enthusiastic singers being led by an expert choir. As usual, the choristers sing a descant to the final verse, and what an exquisite sound thirty little boys make, when their voices rise above the singing of a thousand people.

      It is here! Never was one of Jesus' prayers unanswered… as in "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Heaven is not a place, but rather a state of consciousness… for those who understand. God's will is actually rather simple. It merely require that we love one another. Live in that state of consciousness. You don't have to die to get there. Sent with love. CVD

    1. Crown him with many crowns,
    the Lamb upon his throne,
    Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns
    all music but its own.
    Awake, my soul, and sing
    of him who died for thee,
    and hail him as thy matchless King
    through all eternity.
    2. Crown him the Lord of life,
    who triumphed o'er the grave,
    and rose victorious in the strife
    for those he came to save.
    His glories now we sing,
    who died, and rose on high,
    who died, eternal life to bring,
    and lives that death may die.
    3. Crown him the Lord of peace,
    whose power a scepter sways
    from pole to pole, that wars may cease,
    and all be prayer and praise.
    His reign shall know no end,
    and round his pierced feet
    fair flowers of paradise extend
    their fragrance ever sweet.
    4. Crown him the Lord of love;
    behold his hands and side,
    those wounds, yet visible above,
    in beauty glorified.
    All hail, Redeemer, hail!
    For thou hast died for me;
    thy praise and glory shall not fail
    throughout eternity.

    I attended church as a young child and didn't understand very much at other than it was important to my mother - little by little as I grew older the meanings began to dawn on me and I became a believer.
    There has be a challenge, otherwise the church simply becomes a performance - it's message lost in banal clapping and twanging.

    (continued) And no two hymnals have the same selections (or so it seems)! And I'm glad for the two sets. This is among my favorite hymns, and with so many stanzas extant, it's just that many more reasons to sing it again! My favorite (not sung here): Crown Him the Lord of Heaven, enthroned in worlds above, Crown Him the King to Whom is given the wondrous name of Love.
    Crown Him with many crowns, as thrones before Him fall;
    Crown Him, ye kings, with many crowns, for He is King of all.

    I'm an evangelical Baptist. We sing these good hymns of worship and praise to our Heavenly Father.

    Don't waste this precious life on these not so important earthly things buddy, you are a gift to the people who are around you and love you. Be a gift to them and yourself.
    For ten years I have loved a man but never even touched him, I know he will never be mine but for me he is my everything, my love, my life, just everything and I would be happy to see him happy with whomever he lives! For in his joy lies mine, I will love him for eternity even if we are never untied in the physical form!

    You think THIS was great? Wait until you get to Heaven and hear it played by the Heavenly Hosts, with Christ coronated and enthroned!

      Most people don't know that the word is "crowned". Like in the first line of each verse.
