Hallelujah, Praise be to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. This hymn reminds me of my ordination as a Deacon 35 years ago, by the then Bishop of Johannesburg in South Africa. Glory to God.

One of my very favorite hymns. Thinking about all of my brothers and sisters in Christ who have sung this for hundreds of years…. Will be singing it together with them someday in heaven! Worshipping the LORD forever!

I was lucky enough to grow up in a moderate church, and receive a great education that eventually led me to walk away from ideological systems and the things from religions that I cannot abide by. But I will forever be moved by a church singing hymns. There is simply nothing like it.
