To be fair with Cotto, he fought at a 145lbs catchweight considering he's a natural welterweight. At that time he has the belt and could demand the fight to be 147 on both fighters. He fought decently anyway and this was prime Pacquiao in 2009.

What a legend cotto is. Fighting one of the hardest fights of his life and still after eating hard punches, going to the canvas, eating some good shots at the end of the 6th, he still is a gentleman and sportsman and humble being. The way he gives pacman a clap is pure and genuine acknowledgement of his greatness that night. I love this spirit of Cotto. Legend and role model. 🙏🏽👏

@@michaelpierce8622 here they go again. This Mayweather ducked Pacquiao in his prime. First, Mayweather is older than Pacquiao. He's not like living in a suspended animation where he can wait for his opponents to get old while he remains young. He's a big fool if he did that because there's no way he will know when will Pacquiao lose his prime. Second, why did the first, second, and third negotiation fell off. Answer: because team Pacquiao always walk out of the negotiations. First, because they don't want to accept Mayweather's request for random blood testing and even makes stupid excuses like he's afraid of needles. Second, because they used the stupid excuse that Mayweather is accusing them of using steriods and even sued Floyd for that. And last in 2012, Arum killed the fight even before it happen. Citing the reasons that Pacquiao got a cut or they should wait for a bigger stadium. Also remember that Pacquiao never approach Mayweather to make the fight. It was only Floyd who did that. In fact, if not for Floyd the fight wouldn't happen in the first place.

Ray Gan manny went on many interviews asking for a fight with Floyd.for him never approaching him for a fight isn’t actually true.floyd I wouldn’t say was scared to fight manny some years back before they finally did.but he was definitely letting time go by as much as possible.knowing PAC has been in many battles through the years ,floyd watched carefully knowing it was just a matter of time before manny would start slowing up a little.the drug testing was definitely something that made him look bad, that alone pushed back the fight more than anything.manny did agree to taking a test but not every week like floyd was trying to pretty much make happen and manny was said it was his religion that was against the needle thing more then ever saying he was just scared of them.his last few fights where it seemed manny was losing a step or two floyd was coming closer to agreeing for the fight to happen and once many got dropped and knocked out cold,Floyd was finally ready to agree to the fight as long as there be a rematch if he was to lose but if h wins no rematch was to take place.what type of shit is that?funny thing is the night of the fight floyd came in a lot bigger then he ever had been before.it was clear manny fought no way near th was we see here in this fight, not even close.didnt attack the same, move ain’t n out has he always fights something wasn’t right.all that is what happened, not to mention that guy who was Floyd’s fitness trainer went on record saying Floyd was taking some kind of enhancer not just for that fight but others as well.not that they were Roids but banned supplements in boxing.it definitely would have been a different fight-had they fought the years before they did.

Let's not try to pretend that Pacquiao is better than Floyd because he's not. Floyd is BY FAR the best fighter in modern boxing, and it's NOT just because of his fighting ability. Floyd is the best for many, many reasons. And he could beat Pacquiao anytime, anyplace. Had they fought at 130 or 140-lbs, Floyd would have given Pacquiao a beating. Floyd had HEAVY HANDS in the lower weight classes, and he was heavy hitter who punished guys. So Floyd is the most successful boxer in modern history. But Manny Pacquiao, because of his life's story and how he actually ran for the Presidency of his country, is BIGGER than boxing.

@@koponov Here's one reason why Floyd is more successful than Manny in boxing. Ask ANY pro fighter what is his ULTIMATE goal, and the answer will be "to make money" and "not to get hurt". I don't think you'll find ANY fighter who will tell you, "I don't want to make money from boxing, and I want to get hurt badly." So I think it's FACT that the ultimate goal in boxing is: 1) Not to get hurt and 2) To make money.

They obviously have no idea of Manny’s force of will and determination in the ring. I expressly like it when they have to eat their words as the fight progresses. Cotto has been one of my favorites for a long time, but Manny is a force of nature and the commentary seems not to understand Manny’s abilities and focus. I guess it’s the main reason I like to watch this one over and over.

Cotto was hesitant to fight head on against Manny again, then he just maintained his distance on him after that. That's why Cotto's coach told him to circle Manny, waiting for that opportunity to slow him down and take the right time to come back. And guess, he did not get that opportunity, though that was a good strategy, throw jobs and maintain distance. But Manny was just tenacious, though clearly we saw that he took some solid punches and shots from Cotto too on the early round, but he did not back down and fear to exchange blows again. Don't get me wrong, Cotto is clearly a strong puncher. But Manny was just fearless and hungry to exchange blows. And that's the reason why the accusations of doping against him has some serious point. Manny Pacquiao was never had the best chin even at his best weight: super featherweight. Oscar Larios, a junior featherweight who was never known for having a killer punch despite having a good KO record, almost knocked down super featherweight Pacquiao. Erik Morales who is not a KO artist at super featherweight hurt him several times. Even journeyman Rustico Torrecampo knocked him out. And Ukrainian champion Serizkan Yeshmangevetov (hope I spelled it right) knocked him down.
But at welterweight, a puncher like Cotto can't even hurt him. Heck, he was even allowing Cotto to punch him on the chin.
And no, spare me of those stupid Team Pacquiao and Pactards excuse of Manny Pacquiao is simply working hard. Like power, chin is in born. Either you have it or not. This is not to say that he really did dope. I always tell Flomos that unless proven guilty, Pacquiao and even Mayweather's is as good as innocent. But to give a good explanation on why some people think PACQUIAO cheat at least during his prime.

@@hardwork3122 Almost doesn't count? Hahaha. They hurt him and yet a big welterweight can't? And you say it doesn't count. If that doesn't count then I don't know what it counts. Plus, a journeyman with an unproven punch like Magramo and a light hitter like Yeshmangevetov knocked PACQUIAO down, so it does not count, too? This is not an accusations buy simply an explanation on why people think he did dope. I am not saying he did. And in fact,I am one of Pacquiao's dependers against people who accused him of doping. Ngayon sino ang BOBO sa atin? Me, who simply trying to make a fair argument on why people think PACQUIAO is doping or you who are so emotional you always take every negative opinion against Pacquiao as personal attack?
