Tony and Chad welcome back to the show NBA legend John Stockton who talks about his epic pass over Michael Jordan's head in the NBA finals and responds to Steve Kerr calling him a "dirty b*stard" last year. John also talks about "The Last Dance" documentary, Kobe Bryant, and opens up about the volatile 1994 playoff game against the Spurs, and sets the record straight on his alleged push of David Robinson.

about 20 years ago I was backing my van out of a tight parking spot in SLC, then from my rear view mirror I saw a guy appear behind my van who started to help guide me out to avoid hitting other cars. I eventually noticed it was John Stockton so before driving away I rolled down my window and said "Thanks for the assist!" He laughed.

When I was about 12 or so I attended a basketball camp with John Stockton and he put on a dunk clinic for us including a 360° dunk. He told us you'll never see me dunk in a game because he was all about efficiency and a layup is more efficient than a dunk.

If that truly came from Stockton, then it amazes me how a NBA player of so many years doesn’t understand or remember how a dunk can galvanized a team, a crowd and a player and the flip side how it can demoralized a crowd, a team, a player and could completely change the momentum of a game. There are few players that can do the same thing with a layup. MJ just happens to be one of them if not the best at it.

His look and his humbleness makes us think Stock is an average Joe but he is NOT. John Stockton is a super athlete. He barely got injured and played most of the games. He also got very little body fat and barely broke sweat playing NBA games. His hands are also huge allowing him to pass a basketball like he pass a baseball.

John lived right next door to his parents where he grew up (which I believe to this day still has a hoop with a square sheet of plywood backboard hanging over the garage) and was right across the street from a senior living home. I used to put new carpet in the units when somebody would leave the home. During the off season, I would often see him outside mowing his and his parents lawn and just being a normal guy living a normal life. I'd see him at the gas station and grocery store.
I was at the local Goodwill one time thumbing through the book section and found a Gonzaga yearbook from the the year he played. I've always wanted to try and get him to sign it but never want to bug him as it would be super annoying.
He never knew this but years ago a boat shop called me to carpet a boat. They later told me it was his. It was nothing flashy just a normal speed boat he wanted updated. Lol

All of the greatest incredible ball players , and hes also number 1 by a lot. And if there is anyone who deserves to brag its him, but he doesn't. doesn't dress it, look it, or talk it, or even drive it! The point guard position is a facilitator and here you have a guy that has second highest assist to turn over ratio all time and handled the ball more than anybody. you have a guy where he is the leader in assist to an even less attainable level then the all-time point record. All-time leader in steals in the same fashion. Not one player of note he ever played with besides Karl Malone. Yet perennial playoff contenders and people will point to him not winning a championship. If you don't think he's the best point guard of all time it's certainly not based on fact

Jesus is coming back. Believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. Turn from your sins, get baptized in the name of Jesus, and truly follow Jesus, the real Jesus, the Black Jesus who is true God who came to the Earth in the flesh to die for our sins to be washed away so we could make it to Heaven and came to save every race of people. Jesus Loves U. And he wants U to Love everybody. And Jesus dont want U to follow religion he wants U to have a real, deep, and honest relationship with him. He wants U to read the Bible, learn his word, and seek him and learn more knowledge from him. Jesus commanded that we preach the gospel to the world so it's our job to tell others about Jesus, lead others to Jesus, and save souls. On judgement Jesus will ask U what did U do for me? Jesus said only those who do the will of God will enter into Heaven. This life is jus temporary but Heaven and Hell is forever. We are in the last days. Follow Jesus while U still have a chance. Try your best to do everything Jesus wants U to do so U can make it it to Heaven.

It is a team sport. Lot of it is luck in terms of competition etc. Measuring individual greatness in a team sport by virtue of team success is a toughy. I always think of Ernie Banks, who never won a championship or even played in a World Series and yet….he was back to back MVP in the National League on a LAST PLACE TEAM! No question Stockton was a great player among many in the history of the league. But, I get that many use championships as a major criterion…

I’m a Blazer fan! Born and raised in Portland! I hate Drexler! When he left Portland, which was fine, but was recognized as a member of the 50 greatest NBA players, he chose to represent the Rockets who he had only played with for only 1 1/2 years instead of the players, which was over 10 years! Drexler never appreciated what we gave him as his fans, the city and the opportunity to let him shine! He can suck it!

Um where were your Blazers in 1997 & 1998 The Utah Jazz were in the CHAMPIONSHIP not your Blazers. And it was the BULLS and Michael Jordan who beat both our Teams in the CHAMPIONSHIP. Jazz went back to back Blazers had tough Teams but it was the BULLS and your Team and my Team not executing down the stretch. I would have liked to see The Rockets and Bulls Teams back in 1994/1995 The Dream and his Rockets against Prime MJ and the Bulls. Be an Interesting FINALS. But it wasn't meant to be..only on 2K. Of course I'm a Utah Jazz fan and want them to win Every Year. Just like you want your Blazers Team. 1977 with Bill Walton was the last CHAMPIONSHIP. Congratulations! Jazz are on the rise. Different eras calls for different thinking. Shame on the interviewer, talking about LeBron "influence the personnel decisions". Really? That's what superstars do. They want better teammates or better coaching. Magic indirectly got a coach FIRED. And Shame on Stockton. He says it "appears" that that is what LeBron does? Well, "appears" is like GUESSING.
People need to stop sh***ng on LeBron and the young players of today... let them live. And, although SO MANY people may think otherwise, Jordan IS NOT GOD. So stop with this Jordan crap.
In todays NBA, players have more freedom to dictate their career, unlike years ago. While it would look good to ride through the tough times with your team, it doesn't bring joy to a superstar player. I bet if this were the trend in the 80s, half of the superstars back then would be of the same thinking. Just like when you're in the park playing, you want to get the best team so you pick the better players to play with. Gone are the days where, as the star of the team, you play your heart out only to see losing season after losing season, and can do nothing about it. So, what do you do, demand a trade, demand a coaching change, demand player changes?
We've all heard the saying "it is what it is"? Most people would rather it be "it is what it WAS".
Times change, people change, way of thinking changes.

No you dont want the best players in pickup ball, that's no fun at all. You want some challenge not a lopsided team. Its fun to win with less. By your thinking, it's ok for james harden to do what he's doing now. You may not know this, but people will remember people like lebron and kd and harden for chip chasing, being soft and joining competition and not having the competitive spirit.
