Luna starts with the fire wall (FW) spell and the bonus of doing double damage with FW. She starts with the ability to do 80 damage with it and enough mana to cast it five times before recharging. If she's carrying a very weak army, such as the 1 pixie she comes with if she's not the primary tavern hires for the week, enemies will split into seven stacks, multiplying the effectiveness of FW.
-Instructions
Aim for +spell power (SP) and +XP until you have advanced fire magic (AFM). Also until you have expert water magic (EWM) if you've found the forgetfulness (FF) spell. Aim for 3rd level magic shrines until you have FF. Avoid archer enemies until you have FF and EWM. Avoid enemies that have archer upgrades unless you have a direct damage spell. Avoid flyers until you have AFM. You have to observe built in damage reduction such as golems, but can ignore chance magic resistance such as dwarves. When dealing with 2-hex enemies, leave a gap between you and FW or they will not approach. You can fill in the gap with a 2nd FW though and they will approach. Always be mindful of speed and morale eligibility. Use wait to manage when to cast FW and remember that it always lasts two rounds no matter what.

Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete (GOG edition) with HD mod 3.55f, running at 1180 x 664, displayed at 1920 x 1080, captured and compressed with Camtasia Studio 8.1.2. Mage guild level 1 is already built to give Luna magic arrow.

firewall isn't great unless in those few cases, the hero also has a specialty in it.

that moment when you are happy for your enemys good morale, because they walk into the fire even faster.
A set of fun facts. If this game was released nowadays:
a) Luna, Galtran, Jeditte, Kyrre, Solmyr, Sir Mullich and Craig Hack would be sold separately as "THE LEGENDARY HEROES DLC";
b) Necromancy skill would be a part of pre-order DLC "THE LORDS OF THE DEAD"; Necropolis town would still be available to the general public though;
c) you would be able to purchase up to 1 Crystal, 1 Fairy, 1 Rust and 1 Azure Dragon per month (real-time), but you'd be allowed to surpass this limitation by buying PLATINUM GAME MEMBERSHIP;
d) only PREMIUM MEMBERS would be able to play Conflux;
e) game wouldn't run in offline mode, nor would it have LAN or Hot Seat multiplayer;
f) there'd be no random map generator; instead, the game would have Steam Workshop support and all the "I made dis" elf-hoarding maps by 8-year-olds you could possibly stomach

@@mitromney it's hard to suck at economy, though, in a game like Heroes, where economy management is only minimal. You just need to learn a few things (might take you minutes to learn them), and then repeat those things in every game, maybe in a couple of different ways depending on whether you're playing against the AI or a human player
@@blabla-rg7ky depends on maps. A hard map with very few ressources outside your castle at 200% difficulty, you'll have to wisely manage your economy.

after watching this earlier today i tried it out myself and its so much fun!!! im making almost no mistakes and killing everything with firewall and magic arrow > i even made a small map full of melee monsters to practice it and its fun!!! nice skill btw!!

The writeup is good but the video itself undersells her because you're mostly fighting relatively weak armies that could be crushed with no/minimal casualties with most factions.
It's a good illustration of how to manipulate the AI pathing though, and as this levels up you can do some really silly things with it + 7 stacks of 1 pixie etc. The real draw for Luna is that she can clear out otherwise difficult stockpiles/banks/mines and (if she has forgetfulness) even relatively impressive numbers of shooters this way pretty early in the game to open resources sooner, and a quick look at this video and your (fast) positioning leads me to believe you cleared many harder neutral stacks with her :).

I really like this video and the others were u attack the cripts, I even admit they inspired me to attack banks much sooner then I used to. So would like to invite u to publish more. How about a full map? Something like Time of Profecy, Alexander the great or To Kill for Power. It would be great.

Goltermann87 Glad you liked it! Even though it's a common modification, I wasn't able to find a reliable standalone source online. So I uploaded my own. You can grab the mod here:

It's a TXT file. Just drop it into your Heroes 3's /Data/ folder. As I understand it, it's a file the game can run whether it's present or not. If I'm mistaken in that regard and your install already has this file there, rename it to something like cranimORIG.txt before putting this one in. That way even you ever want to go back to life without it (you won't :P), you can.

Most funny thing is that, 15 years ago it was already known that Luna is not good for tournaments and all that. so after many years it's again like revelation... Something new is forgotten old...

Cuz I bought this game from Steam and it doesn't have any DLCs and some features which is really sad and takes alot of fun from me. +Rokas S. There are cards where you can purchase them for 5 dollars or so and load them up with money. Once the money is gone the card will no longer work, however you can use them online.

Well, how did you find such a Luna map? My maps never show such support.
I suppose the player had a 5% chance to lose the fight starting at 06:22. The blue pixie could get a morale bonus, if memory serves me correctly. Unless she picked up Spirit of Oppression somewhere which I missed.

There's also the earlier fight with he imps where one of the stacks was up'd to familiars (who also would have killed the pixie if they'd gotten a morale bonus).
Not to mention dwarven magical resistance chance)

This is because the army you're carrying is stronger. Strip down to a weaker army. I would recommend no more than 30-40 Pixies/Sprites.

Well fuck me. I've played this game for hundreds of hours and never thought to do this.
What version of HOMM3 is it?
why is every creep stacked like that? Everytime i play they are random. Sometimes two bigger stacks sometimes 7 smaller ones.
If your army is very weak compared to enemy one then they split up into many smaller ones.
They only do 1-2 large stacks when you are too strong for them.
One of my favorite spell to molest enemy troops. I always set up a firewall then sit and watch and laughing out loud XDXD

+groopsecks you should be a beginner player. Luna starts with basic wisdom and basic fire magic so he got 50% to get advanced fire magic at the first level up.

Conflux is SO OP!!
not when you play it like me (one epic battle at the end of month 12 against the AI, or my friend). In those kind of battles both phoenixes and magic elementals (Conflux' - supposedly - strongest army) dies fast against any other faction. So, no, Conflux is NOT overpowered.... unless you play competitive games where fights take place during the first few weeks / months. In those scenarios, yes, Conflux is op. But I don't play those, therefore conflux is shit

Georgi Petrov It's a feature of the HD mod. I forget if it's CTRL or Shift, but you hold one of those buttons while hovering over an enemy.
+Georgi Petrov Here is how: put your cursor on an enemy stack. Hold CTRL, then right click the enemy stack while holding again, then release CTRL and then RMB. Hope this helped!

I fight flyers at 6:21. You need Advanced Fire Magic so Fire Wall will be 3 hex, then you just use the edge of the map.

The video shows how the strategy DOES work against shooters.
@@Dushku it does but the probabilty that u'll get forgetfulness and water magic in the start of game is very low
@@neonbelly4 Why do you say that? As a magic hero, she's offered water very easily. Meanwhile, the rest of your army can be finding shrines and/or taking over cities where you can prioritize 3rd level guild mages to seek out Forgetfulness.
Either way, the video is a proof of concept. It's up to the individual player how much stock to put into it.
@@Dushku i think it isn't worth it to dive into upgrading luna that much. u'll need a lot of spellpower to clear out monsters midgame and a fast, strong 1 hex flying unit, which energy elemental might be. i dont play maps larger than L, so there's less freedom to use a strategy like this
@@Dushku and i know this is a premade map with 3 learning stones nearby to make a point for this stategy, but its a very narrow use stategy for my liking, enemy hero can kill u with no trouble if u go with a single stack

A lot of these awesome tactics really take advantage of the game's somewhat poor AI... like creatures stupidly walking straight into a wall of fire due to it being the closest path to the target, or armies wasting a valuable turn attacking a harmless 1-unit army

Uh huh. Once your power is high enough, you toast them even with that reduction :)
