is anyone else having trouble using the comb picks from this site? the rounded bump before the comb actually starts makes it impossible for these to stick into any locks i have even though they are locks these picks are shown picking, i dont understand?
I have this set of comb picks, and the exact 2 same locks on the left. I’ve tried many times and can’t get them to open with the comb picks. What the hell am I doing wrong? I’ve been a locksmith for 16 years and I feel like such a newb.
They'll work on any pin tumbler lock that isn't high security. Think of them as a bypass tool rather than a pick. So yes, they will. Although if you're in the US you'll find most door locks are absurdly easy to pick or rake/zip/rock/jiggle open.
They work on any lock that has design flaw of too long chamber, there are high security locks (with security pins, ABUS has padlock like this) that you can use cone pick.
First, you have to learn about locks to know if it’s a four pin five pin or a six pin or if the lock key way shape that’s why it’s easier to use top way tensioner tools. Those combs are for like old locks. Most locks can be shimmed. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about security pins. You should research.
Practice. I have had the FNG and Genesis sets for a year and have only gotten 5 locks open…. I have yet to open a lock by setting the pins… all the locks ive opened have ben with the rake

My new skill. Yes, that's what a Covid-hobby looks like. Don't ask me why.
Nobody asked. We all feel you. 😊
It’s all about improving yourself and that’s the only answer I give anyone. Somebody can make any assumption they want.
YES!!! Thank you. The 5 tooth made short work of an American Lock series 1100.
The QR code does not relate to the product that I purchased.
Any tips if you use the comb pick, and then when you go to lock the lock, the pins stay up? 😅

Use the thinnest 6 tooth comb for the m736 that did it for me
I have the same problem. It’s seated all the way down but it will not rotate. What am I doing wrong?
Hm. After watching this, it seems like improper indexing is the most likely problem. I'll try adjusting my technique.
I’m having trouble using the comb on an American series 2000 lock..

stupid question: do combs work on door locks too or is it strictly puck locks and padlocks?
