Had him lock me out and let him watch through the glass as I pulled a plastic insurance ID card from my wallet and opened the door in under 20 seconds. Of course, I made them fix it before I signed-off and closed on the purchase. I’ll bet that every house in that neighborhood built/sold before I bought mine still has exterior door strike plates installed improperly. Of course, every house in the neighborhood has a builder installed alarm system, so I don’t recommend trying to figure out where and break-in, chances are you’ll set off an alarm.

Meaning confident person can just in broad daylight in front of strangers walk to one of those pucks, put the comb in, lift, turn and people think "oh the owner came and opened the puck with the key". He holds the key up to the camera for a second with each lock so he can see which key went with which. You'll also notice he tries to place each lock on top of its keys when possible.

Nah. For some reason that one made out of plastic that's only supposed to stop you from doing something accidentally has a pretty decent core on it. They also have some pretty decent shackles and bodies on some models. All 3 in one though? Or even a decent core without an easy bypass that doesn't come on a Swiss Cheese body? .... those things seem to be tough for Master Lock.

Thank you for this! When I bought my house, the AC compressor was in a cage locked with a Masterlock puck lock, for which we were not given the key. Thanks to this video and an order from Covert Instruments, I managed to remove the lock with my very basic lockpicking skills, and replace it with another lock that probably isn't any more secure but at least I have the key.

I have a "challenge" for you; but first, a concise backstory. When I was a teen, I got locked out of our apartment coming home from school. Instead of waiting for my mom to get home -- and a bit inspired by video games -- I opted to try and pick the deadbolt on our door. I was able to track down two small nails in the hallway, and used those nails to *successfully* pick the lock using very basic knowledge. It was a very awesome moment for me... and a frightening one to think our lock was that easy to pick. So, my challenge: how quickly can you pick a deadbolt with two nails? I know it won't be difficult for you, but I feel like you'd have interesting insights as you did it. If nothing else, I just wanted to share my little story in a place where people might appreciate it. :D

assuming you're not trying the same key with the same lock multiple times or trying keys on locks that are already paired to a key it'll take at most 10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 key insertions to match every key to it's lock. Most likely half that.
Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. Ten-times makes me want to toss all of my keys in the bin and obtain a few comb-picks.
The "comb attack," where the pins are overset to bypass the core, was actually a vulnerability in locks made in _Ancient Egypt._ and the pins in their locks were wooden blocks about 2 to 3 inches per side.

LPL's video serves as a warning and demonstration on how to protect your warehouses and which locks to use and avoid.

I have a "challenge" for you; but first, a concise backstory.
When I was a teen, I got locked out of our apartment coming home from school. Instead of waiting for my mom to get home -- and a bit inspired by video games -- I opted to try and pick the deadbolt on our door. I was able to track down two small nails in the hallway, and used those nails to *successfully* pick the lock using very basic knowledge. It was a very awesome moment for me... and a frightening one to think our lock was that easy to pick.
So, my challenge: how quickly can you pick a deadbolt with two nails?
I know it won't be difficult for you, but I feel like you'd have interesting insights as you did it.
If nothing else, I just wanted to share my little story in a place where people might appreciate it. :D

You assume allot, you must make allot of terrible mistakes in your life. I don’t own the lock but thousands+ obviously do and most will never get to see this video.

What I always tell people, nothing is hard to do with the right tool on hand, and for this reason I will get me a basic set and learn the basics to get me out (or in) trouble.

OK it takes 16 seconds, 4 seconds per pick, unless you read the directions.
assuming you're not trying the same key with the same lock multiple times or trying keys on locks that are already paired to a key it'll take at most 10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 key insertions to match every key to it's lock. Most likely half that.

Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. Ten-times makes me want to toss all of my keys in the bin and obtain a few comb-picks.
The "comb attack," where the pins are overset to bypass the core, was actually a vulnerability in locks made in _Ancient Egypt._ and the pins in their locks were wooden blocks about 2 to 3 inches per side.
Have they found ancient comb picks too?

I would like to try picking, I saw a video on shimming you did a while back and I managed to open a few basic padlocks with a home made shim and it was super satisfying.
