    Ps paint is designed to be sprayed on the inside of clear Lexan and polycarbonate shells, it doesn't have the shine because the outer surface of the shell is polished so, it already looks glossy.
    Use the correct paint for the correct plastic.

    For the layer clear for the decal, usually like to sand it down with old 400 or 600 grid sand paper. That way you can get rid of some orange peels, also the decals sticks better that way. When you spray the last coat of clear, you might end up with some sandpaper marks, you can get rid of it with polishing compound from tamiya

    I did all the paint jobs straight out of a can, before I spray it put the can in glass of hot water (boil the water for 1min 30-50 second )
    That way you add pressure to the can, also the molclues in the paint is active= the paint is not as thick.
    Note: the Can of paint might pop when you put it in hot water due to over pressure, so put it in the sink, you'll come across it.
    The clear coat I use Mr hobby water base clear coat, I used the tamiya one before, I didn't like it, when I over spray it mess up my decal and leave cracks on the paint. Later I found out you have to do it thin layer by thin layer.
    I use TS 65 Pearl clear for the sparkle, whlie using it make sure the paint you put on before is fully dry, the Pearl clear can kill your base paint. I'll make a video out of that later.
    I put 2 layers of clear. One for applying decals, the 2nd for over the decals

    I just came across this vid. Great stuff! Only one question - you say ps over ts is fine but not the other way. I normally use ts clear for the clear coat. If ts paint will fall off, what can I use for the gloss coat?

      I never try ts13 clear on it. I use mr hobby water base clear instead. Good question

    Great video! Thank you for this very informative tutorial. That FRS is model car porn! Questions: Did you shoot these paints right out the can or did you de-canned them and shot with airbrush? Also what clear did you use? TS13? This finish has gorgeous metallic sparkle. And last.... Did you apply the decals first then clear the body? Thanks and keep up the awesome videos! I will also pm you these questions on FB in case it is easier for you to answer.

    Thanks for the awesome video! I'm looking for a paint to paint an xbox controller - do you think a Tamiya paint would resist the wear of being used on a controller?

    So can ps type be applied on gunpla?

    • @plastickitfreak2343
      @plastickitfreak2343  Před 3 lety

      If you mean gundam, yes, but it might be harder because gundam have lots of bumps and gaps, the masking might not fill in properly
