    Just used most of the dodo range on my T5 conversion, well worth the extra cost. Do it once, do it properly.
    Great vids, keep them coming. 👍🏼 cheers guys

    You could use anti vibration pads between the pumps and van body.

    I used Sinuslive ADM-20 on the inside of the wheel housing, you can bend it in every corner & rounding just with a normal hair dryer... and then, carpet lining is no problem!

    Great vid. Seems my professionally converted T6 campervan didn't get this when they converted it judging by how the side panels "ring" when I tap them! :(

    @transporterhq - great video! I'm literally mimicking this quality of this sound deadening on my own van, years of BMW quietness is my goal!.... Is the dead mat duo (7mm total) ok to place under standard kombi rubber flooring? Or do you see it causing the flooring to raise too high for a great fit?
    Love the videos very informative, thanks!

    I am just in the middle of doing the same with Dodo products to my 2010 Sportsline Caddy.. Is there any chance you will be making led light units for the Caddys in the future??? Great vid as always guys....

    Hi there, after putting the dead mat duo on the floor, what thickness ply did you apply after? I'm worried as I want to install a swivel twin cab seat and having enough clearance. many thanks

    Great video. Would having those compressors interfere with an existing external diesel heater? On another note, what steel wheels are those on the van? Thanks

    • @THQAutomotive
      @THQAutomotive  Před 3 lety +1

      It depends on where the heater and compressors are mounted. These are Weller 20” steels. I don’t think they ever put them into production. Look out for the Navis steel wheels, coming soon.

    Thanks for the scuttle tray tip. You guys do the doors as well? I’m getting 68-69 dBA in the t6 ocean at 130km/h speedo (120 km/h gps) and I’d like to get that down to 65-66.
    I’ll try to do doors first.

    Hi what did you apply the dead Matt pro with, the dodo thermal line and the thermal fleece with?

  • @ozzyg82
    @ozzyg82 Před rokem +1

    how come you don’t put thermal liner on the inner (sort of) ‘ribs’ of the van, is it not needed there?

    • @tommalschaert8482
      @tommalschaert8482 Před rokem

      It’s absolutely needed as these will become condensation spots with all the complications that comes with it. If the van is not used too regurlarly (not everyday for hours) then should be ok.
      Same issue when insulating a house from the inside. Needs to be full plus vapor barrier.

    Is there not a dividing wall in the van's over in the uk? that would explain the horrible noise at least.

    Under the soundproof foam I put Silent Coat on the metal to kill the drum effect and works well czcams.com/video/wjjArOlWiVs/video.html

    At 08:46 is that rattle coming from the rear tailgate? My T6 Kombi Highline tailgate makes a similar rattle, I've booked it in with VW to check the latch under warranty, but I'm told they'll charge me for the investigation if they find nothing wrong. Do T6 tailgate rattle?
    Love the videos BTW. I start sound proofing with all the same DODO MAT products this week 👌🏻

    • @THQAutomotive
      @THQAutomotive  Před 3 lety +1

      No it’s coming from the wheel jack in this case.

    • @drewmce
      @drewmce Před 3 lety

      @@THQAutomotive I was hoping that was where my sound was coming from but tide it down super tight and got in the back while the other half drove, definitely the tailgate 🤦🏻‍♂️
      I'll keep it booked in with VW then 👍🏻

    • @5123rick
      @5123rick Před 3 lety +1

      Not sure if you had that rattle sorted, had same issue, vw tried to sort it twice but it still wasn't right.
      Someone reversed into the back of van and I've had new tail gate fitted. Its like a new van! Zero rattle

    Is it necessary to cover the whole panel with the sound deadening material. I’ve seen a video where they just put a piece in the middle of each panel. They said it works “Much like pressing a small part of a bell will stop it ringing”

    • @cliveyboyb5770
      @cliveyboyb5770 Před 3 lety +1

      Conor. From what I understand. If you cover 80% of a panel that gives you the majority of the efficiency. The next 20% gives only the slightest increase. So cost might play a part in it

    • @tommalschaert8482
      @tommalschaert8482 Před rokem

      Cover the part of the panel that rings the most on knock test. Use the knock test, either with finger or the handle of a screwdriver.
      You’ll see that the closer you get to rigid pillars or welds or whatever gives rigidity to the panel you won’t get barely any benefit as it doesn’t ring when you knock on it. Be mindful of weight added too.

    I am intending on doing this with myT4, but i already have silent coat 2mm deadening.
    I assume I am ok to use this combined with the other stages of Dodomat? Bit of mixand match

    Great job. But unrealistic for usual build because the products alone would be best part of £1000. Professional builders wouldn't go to these lengthsxas uneconomical. I understand you got a load for free to showcase it. But I'm sure you don't do this in usual builds.

    • @THQAutomotive
      @THQAutomotive  Před rokem

      We actually go to this level on all our own vans. Yes for a more budget build you can still get close with less sound deadening.
