  • Dragonflies like to stay at a high point while hunting to view their surroundings. This branch sticking out of a relatively short tree fit that role perfectly (there was another dragonfly on another similar branch on the same tree).
The start of the video shows the dragonfly flying off, catching its prey, then returning to the branch, in real time. The video then transitions to slow-mo footage of it doing the same thing, giving a different perspective. The slow motion portions were filmed at 120fps and so are 4 times slower than real time (x0.25 speed).
    Species name: (type of dragonfly)
Scientific name: (I haven't found out yet)
    Location: Malaysia
    Category: Nature, Wildlife, Insects, Dragonflies

Amazing. I have gotten some dragonfly videos before but none as good as this. I believe it is called a Purple Dropwing, or scientific name Trithemis annulata. Very cool. .

It kept flying off and coming back so I was like "I should get some slow-mo" haha especially since the background was clean. Ooh thanks for the tip on the species name! Much appreciated!
