I bought the A71, and it is great. I chose it over the A51 since it has a Snapdragon rather than Exynos chip (see Exynos v Snapdragon - Mr Whosetheboss).
I have had flagships before, but I think they are just a waste of money now for what I use a phone for. If you are a dedicated gamer or content producer who requires flagship features such as speed or amazing camera, then a top of the line handset is justified. For your average Joe though who dabbles with social media, takes a few snaps or watches CZcams, I do not think the expense can be justified.

@@thatperson0013 It depends. If you are willing to sacrifice a little bit of power i favour of newer software, choose the a71. If you need more power and are willing to have a little older software, choose the note 9.
Edit: If you still can't decide, just see wich phone is cheaper(sales, msrp in your country, etc.).
@@puderkman I guess i'll go for the a71 then, biggen battery + fast charge instead of wireless charging and a cheaper feel because the plastic. bigger screen but les snappy, newer software but no Spen.

Using S8. i am a heavy media user. Charges it 2x to 3x a day durinh quarantine and it is annoying. I am looking at Mi Note 10 Lite though Chinese products now make me anxious. Security features they say is top notch in Samsung. So is A71 better for me?

I got my A71 like 2 months ago and it is absolutely a beast! 6gb ram which is plenty of memory making sure the phone doesn't bloat up with apps and junk slowing it down. The processor is not that bad in my opinion..for the average user (youtube,fb,chat instagram etc,) running about 10 apps in the background and yet the processor is super fast. I am super pleased with the camera as an average user since 1080p. 6.7 inch display.In a few words this phone is amazing and worth it's money .
I just bought this phone, it looks great , the screen is beautiful, the cameras are awesome. What more do you want at this price. Great phone 📱.

THIS PHONE IS AMAZING...
Is been 2 weeks that I got it, and I'm in love with it.
Is like the Note, but without the stylus.
Just get a generic stylus and you can use it with Notes app to create notes and drawings.
Gaming on this phone is smooth.
For the price, this is a steal...
It even have the DOODLE of the camera.

It's an amazing phone and especially for the price, I'm glad I went with it instead of paying an extra £600+ for a flagship phone.

I got mine 8GB ram. It's very fast and smooth
There are two big disadvantages I think you should discuss.
1. At least in my case, when I play videos with web browsers, the video aren't stretched over the whole screen. I have tried everything to fix this problem, but sadly enough there is no solution. On some pages the video is zoomed over the whole screen, but on most videos there are two black bars on each side which shouldn't be there. It isn't like that on the PC. Can you please discuss that and see if there is any solution to that. I were thinking of giving a feedback to Samsung developers about that.
2. I am a person that doesn't use the fingerprint option. Usually I use a lock screen without any pin-code. I find the pin-code a pain in the ass. So without a pin-code or a fingerprint sensor the phone is hard to turn on if you grab it by the underside. In order to turn on the phone without using your fingerprint you need to bring the phone up to your face. I find that very annoying. I hope these "bugs" will be fixed in a update from Samsung (especially the first one).
Hell yes. One of the few midrange phones that can keep up with the iPhone SE in overall package for the price.

Got mine in June from Amazon. Mostly for the battery (which has been amazing) it would last 2 full days with 11+ hrs of screen time, or 3 days of little screen time use (all with non-power saving mode).
I heard in September we get the One Ui 2.1 with a full camera Pro mode similar to the S20. Definitely worth it.
Since two months am using Samsung Galaxy A71 it is amazing .smooth features. Fast charging, doesn't heat, camera features are also good
Do you get regular updates on the phone? Some other guy posted a video saying not to buy it cuz it doesn't get the Samsung updates?

@@elon6784 to be honest, i think iphones are over priced and i prefer Android as i think i get more for my money than what iphone does for the same amount of money. My family all have iphones except me. it's their money so they can buy what they like. I'm an android guy and google guy lol. just like i prefer a pc over a mac.

If you already have the s8 plus this is actually a downgrade from that. I own both and I can tell you

Water and dust resistant
Wireless charging
Aluminium frame
Glass back
Iris scanner
SpO2 and heart rate scanner
Better loudspeakers
A71 is better for
Battery capacity
Larger screen
Faster charging 25W
Double the memory size 128gig
2 gigs additional ram 6gig(International)
Longer 4k recording
Android 10 out of the box
More modern outlook.

i think s8 plus is still ok today, it was high end phone back then it could last for 5 6 years then upgrade might be needed. im upgrading my s4 to a71 this week :D
Go for it dude.. there’s nothing as downgrading with this device.. flagships are just for those who can spare a huge amount n those who just want to show off.. this is an amazing device with all the PRACTICAL features.. u won’t be disappointed
I got this phone 4 days ago. It's really great. I simplu love it. Does everything I want it to do smoothly. The speakers are loud, cameras are good enough for social media, it comes with dolby atmos, battery life is great (indoors I get a constant 9 hours on screen time, if I play a game, let's say asphalt nine for 1-2 hours i'll get around 8 hours on screen time) and outdoors around 7 hours full brightness which is plenty. The battery is great and it charges quite fast in about in hour or so. Lots of storage and features.. Flagship phones are getting less relevant today then they were let's say 3 years ago. Everyone can be happy and get through their day with a mid ranged phone. The a71 is great and looks modern. And i don't mind the plastic back and sides.. glass is glass and it will break. And most people will slap a case on it anyway, myself included. I recommend this phone to anyone who wants a fresh 2020 phone.

I have installed Google Gcam 7.3 on my A71 and it works great. The Night Sight feature does work well.
Man your good at getting to the points of the phone step by step. The specs I want to hear and the real life use of the phone. That's why I subscribed. Plz continue to tell the good and the bad of these phones.
I love the A71 but I had to return it because it has a green tint on a grey background between 0-20% brightness in the dark. Pretty specific problem but still bothered the hell out of me. Does anyone else have this problem?
If it's less than 5 percent you can see some discoloration but that doesn't affect the performance

March security update is already available for the A71 here in Australia Kevin... I bought mine direct from Samsung Australia 2 weeks ago & the security update was one of the updates available for the phone while I did the initial setup. Love the phone by the way... It's all the phone I need and then some! Very happy with it so far 😉

Coming from an Galaxy S9. I love the design and the big screen. Its a
middle segment which didn't fall short on the Galaxy S9 at all.
Sometimes even better. Only downside: no Dual speakers. Screen is better
than S9.... its just Wow and on Android 10 (native on A71) it feels
quicker and faster than my S9, fully installed with apps and settings as
my S9. Which i still have also, now switchted to that A71 as my daily
driver....
Writing from it and short answer is : yes. It feels fast snappy, excellent big screen and audio , and Samsung promised atleast 3 years of support. Not everybody makes ir.

Will be getting one this week after I renewed my post paid plan. Will replace my trusty old galaxy note fan edition which I have for more than 3 years.
I also agree that these macro cameras are not needed, and should be one component to reduce manufacturing costs
I wish you reviewers would spend less time on cameras [I am not very into that ]and more on speakers and how they sound, battery life and time to recharge, response time, how grubby the phone gets and need to clean, software updates, etc.

My A71 has the April 2020 update. Installed last week.
i bought the Samsung S9 when it came out...excellent phone...but i wanted a new one without having to pay so much...and i will have better camera, bigger screen, and better battery...so i feel as upgrade...! i will get my A71 tomorrow...can' t wait
Gorilla glass 3 is the best for microsceatches, the most annoying ones. Screen cracks and the likes are your fault.

I just wish it had stereo speakers since is a big phone and big phones are for watching videos and at least splash proof. I like to see if they have a usa variant (for warranty) but I also have cricket wireless so 5g is not needed. The galaxy s20 ultra I dont even bother watching more reviews videos, since is way overpriced it's not worth. The gap is to big between phones that I only focus on midrange.
I bought A71 last week. And I'm pretty impressed except I wish the battery would last a little longer I am a heavy user so yeah.

I own a A71 and since i only need a big screen and a under screen fingerprint sensor im not willing to spend 1000$ more for a phone that i dont need. I love the A71. It does its job pretty good.
Maybe you should do videos on any products you use in your real life. You have that quality control swag. I believe in you.
I just got the 5G version yesterday (day 1 release on tmobile) and its fantastic. Put it up against my buddy's S20 Ultra and I just couldn't understand the justification of spending an extra grand on the 20. Looks good, feels good.

IMO, the macro cam is no gimmick so long as the scene lighting is ideal. I love it!

Yes! I defo recommend this phone! If your looking to buy this phone I would reccomend the prisim crush silver if you want something holographic, the camera is awesome! Also, the screen is great! It's so clear ❤
Thanks for the reviews Kevin. Does the A71 have a loud speaker? I had an A20 and it was very weak. I put an amplifier app on it that helped but it made phone calls full of static.....on my end only.

How bout the camera ?
Do note that in the Philippines we get the exclusive "upgraded" A71, due to it having Snapdragon 730G instead of the normal Snapdragon 730 in other countries!
730G is basically a mobile platform more focused in gaming compared to the normal 730.
Also the A71 have the March 2020
@kevin breeze - Thanks for the detailed review. Had one question about the thin black bar on the right side of the screen just adjacent to volume rocker. It seems it's not always visible but seems to be very prominent. It will be great if you could clarify on it. Thanks

S10 lite. S10 lite will receive monthly security updates
But it doesn't have headphone jack s10 lite. This is why I'm getting A71

In terms of smart phone, it definitely is a great purchase. Battery life is great especially compared to other ones.
I’m looking at buying this one for my mum because it’s affordable ($750) and I can’t afford to pay $1,300-$1,500. I can’t decide honestly.

Yes, it's a very good middrange phone, very balances on all specs. I like mine as well since I bought it one month ago. I preferred to use A71 instead of S20 which has Exynos processor. A71 for me is doing the exact what I need great battery, software and screen, good camera and connectivity.

Without a doubt.....Yes, the A71 is a great phone and will still be worthwhile in 2021. I don't look at cell phones the way some "techno-snobs" do and this phone will be worth it a year from now.
Please don't compare the A71 with the S20 Ultra considering there is like a $1,000 difference in price. It's like comparing an F-15 with a F-29. It just doesn't make you look at that competent to make the comparison.

I bought the A71, and let me tell yall, i didnt make a mistake here. This phone is just incredible, the performance this phone has is just mindblowing. Yeah it does have 4k recording at 30fps, but does it have 1440x1080 60fps? I mean its hard to tell cause it doesn't have the Number of Fps on the side so if u can reply on this it would be nice.
