@@MentLeee The ONLY Reason a Few of the Kids My Age Knew this Dude & they were in Atlanta During the 70's was Probably because of his Name & the Fact that there were few Black Wrestlers in the Business. This Guys Promos are Close to Horrible! He's the Black Guy BUT Dusty has More Flava!! Oh yeah EVERYONE i Knew that watched Wrestlers in the 80's DEFINITELY Knew who Dusty Rhodes was. Most that Knew of Thunderbolt was because they had been in Atlanta since at least the early 80's Not because he was a Good Wrestler or Actor! His Acting Skills were Black Exploitation at its Best!!!

Yep. But in the end, Dusty is dead and Patterson is finally getting his recognition for his innovations as a black wrestler. I hope Patterson is mobile enough to accept his induction.

This was before my time, so I'm not familiar with Thunderbolt Patterson or anyone else in these clips (although I've heard plenty about Ole Anderson). I must say, if this is the "best" of Thunderbolt's promos, then he was far less then great in that regard. Of course, promos are just one aspect of pro wrestling and it's about much more then just that. I understand he was over big time in Georgia. I don't know if he's quite HoF material or not, but I'm not really against him going in. The legitimacy of WWE's HoF is kind of iffy anyway. For the most part, it's just a show.

Thunderbolt was instant box office. Because of promoters not wanting to pay black wrestlers what their draw was worth he’d go where the money was. And he wasn’t about to allow himself to become a puppet either. Even after he sued Crockett they had to out of desperation bring him in to some house shows. Of course “New York” wasn’t going to put up with some that gives pushback but T-Bolt was past his prime. I never got Dusty Rhodes but in fairness I never got Joe Weider putting his head on Robby Robinson’s body to make a trophy either.
