Alberta is calling? Flood of new residents spark affordability concerns

  • Alberta's government has launched the next phase of its 'Alberta is Calling' program in B.C, Ontario and Quebec.
It is aimed at enticing workers in the skilled trades to make the move to Wild Rose Country, with a $5,000 tax credit as a sweetener.
But as Heather Yourex-West explains, the province already has a flood of new residents, and all that migration is making life less affordable in Alberta.

What's say we lay off the immigration policy until we get the country back under control, both fiscally and culturally. Is that too much to ask?

Trudeau thinks that's too much to ask. The well being of Canadians is not high on his agenda. We are the eggs he's breaking to make his "new Canada" omelet.

That's right. Looking for a job right now in Calgary is brutal because there are hundreds of applicants for a position. The unemployment rate is almost 8% and Danielle keeps inviting everyone to move here.
