I know not everyone was happy with the Direct, but Metroid Dread is Half Life 3 levels of insanity for me. Even if the game can't live up to my expectations, I spent 15 years of my life never giving up hope that someday we might finally see something come out of a Metroid 5. I really, truly didn't think Nintendo would deliver a game so close to what I hoped for -- a proper, horror-focused sequel to Fusion. This game desperately needs to be good and sell well for there to be hope of more 2D Metroid in the future.

The reason why Tim and Greg (and myself) are hyped for Super Monkey Ball and Advance Wars, is because they are two of the finest videogames ever made that have been locked to old hardware (GameCube and GBA). They also aren't just porting them, they are rebuilding and remastering.
Because they’re smart.
Yup bana blitz hd has nothing on the 3 old school monkey ball games. They are unbelievably good and I can't wait to get my hands on them asap.

I own all three consoles but Seriously 6 out 10 Nintendo, Microsoft their best conference ever 7.5 out of 10 considering every past show for last 7 years was trash, so not difficult to beat. To much CGI game pass rehashed games we already know about. Horizon and Stalker look great....that's it Digital Foundry's not that impressed by new Halo. Also Horizon not having a 60 FPS mode with RT only using RT in photo mode I hope this not the case. Redfall no gameplay. 30 games from Microsoft 5 or 6 looked interesting. They seem to be focusing on the same thing quantity over quality. This was poor E3 across the board. Microsoft won this but didn't have to do to much to beat the competition. Sony still easily holding the crown QUALITY NOT QUANTITY.
Poor ol' MS. They spent 7 billion, showed a bunch of new games released day one on game pass, some flashy cinematics and a couple of AAA games released this year.... Nintendo show just one new character for a game released three years ago, a Metroid game that looks last gen' at best and remakes of old games that look visually like shovelware (I'm aware of the actual games) and people are like, yeah they brought it. lol. I swear I don't know how Nintendo does it, they keep that bar sooooo low that the announcement that a game in 2021 has online features gets their fans excited.
This was 5/10. I'm a bit worried that BotW 2 will do a Warzone 1984 reskin with a few new points of interests instead of an entirely new map but I'm sure the Nintendo fans will defend that so maybe there's no incentive for Nintendo.

Awesome. I think the Switch Pro rumors may have been just that. Sure we may see a slightly upgraded Switch with a bigger screen or 4K output but I doubt it will be a huge change until the Switch 2. And I’m totally fine with that.

Project Triangle Strategy was already announced from Square Enix in the HD-2D engine. It’s basically a FF Tactics spiritual successor in the Octopath Traveler engine.
That Game And Watch thing was neat. I'm sure they'll make 10 of them.

The direct lived up the expectations. Games that were overlooked got some love during this direct. Wario ware, a proper mario party, and a new 2d metroid. PLUS BOTW2 update. at least 2nd best presentation of E3
As much as I liked the Xbox showcase comparing it to this one.... everything they showed here actually has gameplay and most of them are coming out very soon. The fact that Xbox started and ended their showcase with long CG trailers for new IPs that tell me really nothing and are next year. (Also the fact that we waited 3 years for starfield info and still got nothing really?) And there’s that avalanche game that was also just CG
As well as not even a release month for halo and I’m pretty confident that I can say nintendo takes the crown this year. They just showed more with less time to me.

It's not really like they're only working on FE, I'm positive Paper Mario and Wario Ware games are always in the works, they've got pretty consistent releases. It's exciting to see Advance Wars come back though and the Wario Ware demo was GOOD.

Did you like 2 as much, or as close to as much, as the original, or even Before the Storm? I never hear anyone talk about it. I personally struggled getting through it after flying through each chapter of the previous two, and a few of the KF guys other than Greg mentioned they haven't even finished it.
@@andrewpharr33 I did wait for every episode before playing it so that probably helped, but the decisions and story have stuck with me just as much as Max and Chloe did
@@SamButler22 yeah that probably helps that game a lot as it focuses so much on Shaun and Daniels relwtionship and isolation, specifically in the earlier chapters (where I struggled getting through it). It definitely gets better in the last third and I think I would feel the same way if I could have played it all together (although still enjoying Max and Chloes story more). Thanks for responding!

Definitely best E3 of the show for me, a lot of the games shown are my exact taste and it is great to finally see something from Advance Wars after so long.
Did no one noticed anouma flat out say that they have no switch titles or events planned for Zelda's anniversary during that game and watch segment? I'm flabbergasted

Aiming for 2022 worries me...
Metroid Dead is my favorite overall announcement of E3 (2d Metroid and Zelda games are my favorite Nintendo games), an easy day one purchase, and Nintendos conference overall was my second favorite behind Xboxs killer show. I like that there was some good party games shown, but surprised that great couch coop games like Mario Golf, a new Mario Party, and Wario Ware would come out AFTER summer when kids are back to school (not that it matters just surprised, gotta fill the release schedule for the calander year I suppose). Looks like a fun year with friends. And Advanced Wars coming back got me hyped before I realized it was a remaster of 1 & 2 (played those to death on GBA), hopefully they do well with people and they bring back those games. Good conference overall IMO.
SMT5 is going to drag people in who finished Persona 5 Royal because it's the same thing. Yes, I know Persona 5 is part of a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei and its name is actually Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 5 Royal. Nothing to see here. Of course it is much more intense than Persona 5.
Will buy Super Rush just for the adventure mode so my ugly Miitopia Mii can become a golf pro. XD
They actually dropped the SMT title from Persona games after Persona 4 because the Persona spin-off series became more popular than mainline SMT

I get where she comes from, but Advance Wars has been dead for pretty much a decade now. There is so many classic games on GBA or Gamecube era who was stuck to die or be lost gems. I bet if this sells well, we will get a new game, easily

But I lost respect at not a single one of you being hyped for Monster Hunter Stories 2. MH so insanely good, and Stories 2 looks incredible.

Okay so here’s the thing about Fatal Frame V, is NA fans pleaded Nintendo to give it a western release and they eventually did. HOWEVER they made it digital only… this posed a problem seeing as the file size was more than the standard Wii U could handle or an already used Wii U.
The file size was 14.3 GB. JPN release got a physical and digital, but ever since Nintendo bought Fatal Frame they’ve been killing the series for NA fans.
We didn’t get Fatal Frame 4, we didn’t get the remaster of Fatal Frame 2, and they fucked us over on Fatal Frame V.
Probably due to low sales since V didn’t do well on Wii U over in NA, it almost became a dead game. Koei Tecmo even remaster Fatal Frame 1 for a Pachikoslots.
Fatal Frame is headed down the Silent Hill route, but I hope the Switch release can turn it around.
Went in about a 6 on the hype level. Left about a 7. Really tried to manage my expectations going in and honestly that helped.
I came in at a 4 and honestly left at a 7.5, maybe an 8. Metroid did a LOT for me

Nope, the best was definitely Xbox/Bethesda. Nintendo was good, but in no way did they save E3 this year.
@@nikkieg158 Microsoft had a good presentation but I was excited about more games in this than Xbox and of the exciting games at Xbox alot of them won't be coming for a long while and Just about all the Nintendo announcements are coming this year
@@Icepick614 It all comes down to personal preference, but I saw one game from this show that I was interested in. Microsoft had tons, and w/ Game Pass, I won't be paying 60 bucks for each of them
@@SkeeLoGreene Yup definitely up to personal taste. Gamepass isn't really for me mostly because I have a PC and Gamepass is $15 and the only games I'm interested in (that I don't already own) are games that with the amount of time I'd put into them I'd be spending more money than just buying it outright.
Like Halo, if I play it for a few months then periodically come back every few months without using Gamepass in-between then I'd spend more money than the full price 4 months in and I've put hundreds of hours into Bethesda RPGs which would also probably cost me more on Gamepass than buying out right.
I'm definitely glad Gamepass exists and is greatly beneficial for so many but for me it's not the case so when I watch the conference and there's some really cool looking games that I probably won't get around to playing and games I'm anticipating like Starfield and Halo not giving any new information I find myself enjoying watching it but at the end the games I'm most looking forward to got either no info or won't be coming for a long time, or both.
Different stroke for different blokes and that's what I like about these E3 events is that so many people can watch it and be excited for a variety of different reasons. Games are dope👍

@@oskdiscostu And I meant to say companies like Sony remastering Spider-Man or Demon Soul, or Microsoft porting the old Halo games to pc and people getting excited to play those games. Those kinds of companies, or even Sega with Colors Ultimate.

No switch pro? Wtf, journalists said two weeks ago : "tomorrow"... hahaha. I don't have a Switch, now I want one (Got they money and the library is expansive enough). The new model seem so imminent with leaks and rumors, so I wait. Plus, having a good looking TV and Phone, better screens are really it for me (I tested the normal switch and it's fine, but prefer better). Having no news since the last couple of weeks, I was hoping for a reveal today, kinda sad. The games look funs tho, but DK games rumors were only rumors it seems and were the fuck is Metroid Prime, yeah they start over, but it was already more than 2 years ago.
I mean the Switch Pro stuff Is just a rumor.
there has yet to be any concrete evidence for a switch pro, its mostly journos being stupid as always

Breath of the Wild 2 ... that game will be at best christmas 2022 (but I can see this also being a 2023 title with how they worded this -.-)
4-5 years of development for a lot of reused assets and even a reused world map. They have to deliver something thats worthy of an complete new game with that development time...
Also ...still no title confirms for me that we will see this at another E3 Direct next year ...

They didn’t announce the March release of botw until 2 months before. I don’t really understand why you’re immediately assuming a 2023 delay.
@@audoodle9963 Because Nintendo is already wording this deliberatly flexible.
"We are targeting a 2022 release" can be translated into "we are trying but we are not sure enough to commit to a firm 2022 release". This doesn't sound like they are 100% sure themselves they can make it next year...
Also "development has been steadily progressing" doesn't sound like they are finishing this game up.
Also you comment about how "They didn’t announce the March release of botw until 2 months before" is not fitting in this context ... because we were playing the Demo of BotW at the E3 the year before release. What do we have of BotW 2 I ask you ? A 30second clip of gameplay ...
@@ControlLingOo I don’t think we will see it at March but also just because there isn’t a date doesn’t mean it can’t get one before E3 next year. Nintendo isn’t banned from talking about it before then.
@@audoodle9963 Possible of course ... but knowing Nintendo and how they handled Zelda before I expect rather a later release than a sooner one (Especially with how deliberately conservative they are wording this)
Overall a bit disappointing, i'm most hyped for shin megami and Botw2, but besides the 'new' mario party which was a pleasant surprise (N64 childhood memories!!!) nothing stood out. Anyways looking forward to the next one and happy for those who were hyped with some of the announced games in this direct.
