Never be embarrassed or ashamed about exciting finds and your reactions. Happy for you.
Here! Here! That’s why we tune in for your videos! Still I have to admit to just a touch of jealousy!
Congratulations John!

Absolutely correct,I love this channel.
What an awesome day John, really pleased for you mate. As for the cast dog, many 20th century UK childrens toys and toy figures carried the word foreign if not made in Britain. I remember that as a very young boy in the mid 1960s a lot of my own cast toys were marked foreign.
Wow, part 2 is just as good as part 1! I can only imagine such a day of detecting. We obviously don't have anything medieval here in W.Texas, but I went nuts over a couple of Buffalo nickels in one day, and that is not anything as amazing as what you found. Someday you will have another video from the same field with even more spectacular finds soon. Cheers from Texas.
We want part 3!!!! Well done!
What a day! Congratulations, John, glad the weather was nice and the fields dried enough to bring you some spectacular finds. 🥰💕❤️👍👍
Much appreciated Terry. A day that will live with me for a long time
How amazing! Congratulations John!
Great view in the light box.
Love the excitement you share with us. 😊
Many thanks Maureen. Your comments are always much appreciated
Excellent dig, so pleased for you. The little dog does say foreign, I remember from my childhood in the 50s lots of toys just said “foreign” rather than the country they originated from, so well done.
Best field ever and thank you for sharing it with us. Love this channel this was as we say in America A Kick Ass Day.
Thanks Donald. Much appreciated. A rollercoaster 🎢 of a day!
What an amazing day. Ive been detecting a little longer than yourself. It took me 22 yrs to find a gold coin and found a second one two weeks later. Yes i cried no shame in that. Fantastic video. Thanks
Many thanks. That’s sometimes how it works out. Though the machines have a lot to do
With it too!! Amazing. Well done 👏
Congratulations John what a day!! The adorable little dog looks like a Cairn Terrier and with the loop on the back, perhaps a Christmas ornament? I have a question maybe you can answer. I watch a lot of detectorists and I have never seen one find a coin from the time of Henry VIII. Have you ever found one and do you know why they are so scarce? Thank you John and good luck .❤️
Congratulations on part 2! Hopefully you can get the hoarde finder soon. Thanks for letting us tag along on this glorious day. Keep that dog with you, he's a good luck charm now.
Thanks Matthew!! There will be a part 3 😮
John , you need to get to the museum !
Your driving me Crazy !
Those silver ingots , we need more information , please !
I think the gilded disk has had holes drilled into it to make a children’s toy. My understanding is they threaded string through the holes and twisted it to make the disk spin. The simple joys of an earlier time. I do wonder what it was originally made for, though. So glad to see you so happy. It is a nice balance to all those days you go out and find nothing but aluminum.
What an amazing day for you and what a great field that is! You deserve the best of finds John for all your patience and hard work and the best entertainment you give everyone with your knowledge. Doesn’t that gold looks gleaming in the light box, tears were justified 🥲🥲🥲 Excellent! 🤩🥂
Thank you for taking your time to show us your great finds. Every detectorists dream for real!!!
Wow fantastic finds, congrats from Australia!
Love your vids!!
Many thanks! New video just updated
The amount of emotion you show is honestly something I respect really much. It comes across as really genuine. Put a smile on my face and made my day better, so I appreciate it. Congrats on all the finds. Your videos has made me pretty interesting in trying metal detecting myself some day.
waiting
❤ Super day in the field! "The scottish detectorist" is top teaching and entertainment!
Many thanks 😊
Amazing buddy! Scattered hoard maybe? Suppose gps would tell you.. LOVE the Scotty dog!😊
John, You slimey Swine...😉 What a lucky day for You - what a lucky day for us, that You let us be a part of Your heart-attacking "Wow-moments"...😯 Unique the second, You realize it must be a Hammered or Gold or something other breathtaking relic of history! Let it be Scottish...😂✌
Greetings from Switzerland

Keep up the Great walks John Fantastic so enjoyable and I really enjoy the History you Describe that so well 😀
Well day 2 did not disappoint! Congratulations on these spectacular finds.
Soooo Good!! I would love to be the museum evaluator and just look at all the finds all day. I love the medieval stuff too :)

I’m part way in to your video what a ripper day your having
Woke up to 20 degrees centigrade and forecast for 37

Like I just commented on part 1, your joy is so infectious and I never get tired watching your digs! 🤩 Such awesome finds!! I hope, you can get back to that field soon. I'm so curious what else might be hiding in the ground there. 😊
WOW WOW WOW WHAT A STONKER OF A DAY SO HAPPY FOR YOU JOHN 👍🏻#digginthedream
Its not a dig without Gorgeous George, John! Huge grtz mate!
Many thanks Dave! Much appreciated
Unbelievable!!!!! I felt your excitement and emotions - very well done Sir 😊
Bloody fantastic finds John; your the man.WAHOO!!
Oooo I have been waiting with baited breath!
Hope you enjoy
@@thescottishdetectorist I most certainly did! Fascinating finds as always, thank you for sharing.
Congrats, John! A other great part 2! WOW! Could the little dog be a Westie or a Cairn terrier? Whatever, I think he brought you the luck! Thanks for another great dig !!!
Two hypotheses for the hammered coins. 1) An English encampment preceding the First Scottish War of Independence, or 2) Grave coins (often placed on the eyes of the dead) from the church graveyard scattered during the deconsecration. Is it known that any bodies in the churchyard were translated(moved elsewhere) when the church fell out of use?
Amazing Day that we all dream of!!! Congrats!!!
Whirligig toy made from gilded button, must have been very shiny spinning! Another Fantastic day for you! Congratulations!
Bet John had to take something nerve-
Calming together with his Lunch🤣🤣👍😜 Predict theres some good days
In the future. Don't think its a Jeton!
Dandy button. Hammered Silver pennies could have been lost at the
Same time, or digged down on purpose.
Wich means that there could be a Hard somewhere substantial amount in
Beer money. What will the flooded
Potato field reveal and the old trackway?! John are going to be busy 😱😜🔝❤️
Hey John 👋🏻, You're the King of hammered Coins now 👏🏻👏🏻
I really enjoyed Part 1&2! How amazing 😍
In almost 25 Years detecting i've been only once able to find a Continental Silver from Edward I Period...
Congrats and keep going 🍀🍀🍻
Another fabulous film. Thanks for sharing with us.
Give Scotland a wee kiss for me. I miss her dearly since having to return to US. 🏴❤️
23:56 that looks like a "weld" where they would have tacked on the loop, and a very poor looking weld at that, possibly had an attempted repair?? I'm wondering if the little terrier was a trinket for someone's watch chain. No matter, you had a grand day's dig and you're grand for sharing!!
Wow, excellent, great show, fantastic. Well done John, good on ya.👍
I believe the unidentified disk about 6:20 is a “freeze plug” from old engine. There would be on one either side and if temp got below freezing the plug would pop out saving the engine block from cracking.
What an incredible day in the fields brother! God gifted you some incredible finds (of course the detector had some to do with it too). :) My heartiest congratulations on your exceptional day, and thank you so very much for taking us along on your finds. Slainte Mhath!
Thats incredible!!! Watching this from the west coast of Canada......we are thrilled to death to find a Vicky or Eddie anything, let alone something over 200 yrs old.
Many thanks 😊 yes, to hold a find from the era of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce is just incredible 😮
Foreign was a common mark for things made in Hong Kong when I was a child. Most of them were crudely made plastic toys, things like soldiers or small cars. What a day John!
Amazing. Just amazing, well done.
Thanks very much! Best wishes
Congrats John again wat a day...I'd say the thin one is a dandy button the dog looks pewter and the coins are juss stunning absolute perfect day in all ways my friend, enjoy🤙 have a few pints tonight u earned em..ur buying though🍻🍻🍻
Bravo- 24 years in the making. There's some history for you.
Wow John. Great viewing as always. What a field
Best day you have had I agree but it's always fun watching the show brother. GOD bless and see you on the next
Its going to happen ....that clay pot full of hammered is in the future!!! Great finds as per usual.
Just incredible John, can’t really add any more to that! On to the next!
More amazing finds! What a day! The thru-pence was my favorite coin as a young child. I have quite a few in my jewelry box. But all those hammered! Wow!
The button with the holes may be something called a whizzer. Children in the United States would have used buttons or old coins; drilled two holes; threaded them with string and twirl the string…..when it was released it made whizzing noise. They were popular in the first part of the 1800s. Wonderful hunt…..I can’t imagine finding one coin from the thirteen hundreds. Well done.
Wow! What a day! Fantastic!!
Well done mate what a day.will be very interested to know your state of mind when you go out digging next time? I had 8 roman coins and 2 roman brooches in one day and remember going out shortly after and being disappointed having only found 2 roman coins and another roman brooch the next trip. A few days finding nothing soon put my feet firmly back on the ground but I will watch your next outing with great interest. Keep up the good work.😊
Amazing day. And love the scotty dog.
Hi John, it's not unusual to find small, older metal objects stamped "foreign." I can't be sure, but believe it was introduced after WW1, possibly in connection with some sort of import tax. But what a cracking day's hunt, you'll have to go some to ever beat that! Well done indeed.
Awesome Dig!! Thanks for Sharing! Cheers JJ
Such an exciting video!! Your #1 Alaskan Fan is amazed and full of joy for you!
Absolutely amazing day John part 1 was so overwhelming I was absolutely buzzing for you had a lump in my throat along with you was so happy for you this really is the field of dreams cannot wait to see what else comes up from it in the future keep up the hard work mate and thanks for sharing 👍🏻
What a day! You’re a lucky so and so🍀Great to watch and see your excitement finding the hammered. Nothing left for me to do but get out there myself today and see if I can get anything even half as exciting:
Your channel is the best ! Wishing you 100,000 followers ! Cheers from the States!
Cracking haul of finds John. Well done. The quick return really paid off. All the best and HH.
Many thanks and HH …. I’ve been back since and spoiler alert 🚨 there will be a part 3 🤩
Your absolutely priceless reaction just goes to show how much heart you put into detecting. I didn't want others laughing at me, but hey-ho... the little dog does it for me 🥰Congratulations!! 🙌
Thank you for posting 👍👍🙏☀️😎
Here in the US we have armored trucks to transfer money in bulk. Brinks trucks is what they are called. You should name your little dog Brinks and he can guard your hoard!!! So happy for you!!! 🥰🥰🥰
What a red letter day. Most people could put in months or even years for 5 silver hammered coins and you go and get 5 in a day, plus a Gold coin and some other really lovely finds 🐕. Delighted for you John. Keeps those videos coming please.
Wonderful Part 2 almost as good as Part 1...I think I'll have to come to Scotland the homeland of my ancestors.
Damn John! I teased you in last video about needing a paramedic but after this video I might need one myself!!!! THE HUNT TO RIVAL ALL HUNTS SIR!!! I think I need a drink!!! Well deserved CONGRATS!!!!! I THINK I MIGHT NEED TO LAY DOWN!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What a day absolutely fantastic well done 👍
I love your happiness. I have watched other metal detectorists and they show very little emotion about a hammer. While watching them, im more excited than them!
So, its fantastic to watch someone who acts like i would, in that situation. Again congratulations 👏
Love the hammered too, Roman are too common 😁🤩🤩🤩 I see a man in green leggings, a small leather bag hanging from his belt. Oh no he's not realised, there's a small hole he is losing coins as he moves.
Amazing video! Congratulations. 😄
Sir you are a master with the deus.....Wow so many great finds a bloody pleasure to watch kind regards Ian and Connor......
Coool 🎉🎉finds ; keep going

INCREDIBLE!!! I’m so happy for you!!
Congratulations, John! What a great day. I don't think anyone's going to laugh, but they're all going to be very jealous.
Such a fantactic day! Can't wait to see what you find with the lend of the hoard hunter machine. Foreign was stamped on a lot of pottery too back in the day on stuff made overseas. The dog certainly looks like Greyfriars bobby!
Big congrats from Hereford UK. Your channel is a massive inspiration💪
What finds John, just amazing. Need a mini detectival just on that field 💪🏼
Congratulations again on such an incredibly successful and memorable day!
Sure glad that you had to leave the other field because it was too muddy. Almost like you were meant to go and find what you did.
Extremely jealous, but also very happy to see you have such a wonderful day!
Cheers from near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
I, too, am ecstatic at your findings, John! Happy hunting always!
Absolutely fantastic day .. I couldn’t believe my eyes .. I was just as excited as you was ..every find I was holding my breath waiting to see what else it could be ..
I’ve said recently you was due a day like this …especially finding gold …how right was I … congrats John ..hope the next day is as exciting
Gotta say, I still love your "warts and all" videos *almost* as much as I love seeing you pull 800 year old treasure from the ground! Fantastic finds!
Thanks for sharing a fantastic day detecting , what finds 😮 and gold and a cutie of a Scottie dog
Wow, what an outing. Congratulations on the great finds.
The cut coin is definitely Henry III. The short cross was used on all Henry II, Richard, John and early Henry III. The clean cut means it was probably cut at the mint before it was released for use.
Wow John what a fantastic second part of the day's detecting just amazing. You must be over the moon with all them finds.😀👍🏴
