I’ve been here before, and all I can say is that these jumps are MUCH bigger in person. Like one of them looks around 3.5 ft, but is like 6 feet in person😂
The first time I went I was out of my element. The "lapability" makes this place so great because you can do trails over and over and progress a lot in a short period of time. Hope you weren't too discouraged, Big Creek has helped me improve my riding a ton.
@@_Aitch_ took me over 30 min just to find the free ride section haha did the whole green lap & half the blue before finding greenway, wasn’t falling/crashing in the free ride or anything but was a little intimidating for first experience with a black diamond & was definitely babying some jumps/drops, definitely a lot of fun though
@@_Aitch_ I’ll probably focus on the jump lines for now to progress quicker lol, how often do you go it could be cool to try to keep up with you on the trail
@@Gyyates I'm in Memphis right now finishing my last semester of school... It's likely I'll be in Atlanta in the early months of summer but I'm considering a move to a mountain biking destination. Maybe Bentonville...? seems like an awesome spot. If I'm in Atlanta I'll let you know
It's honestly the best! I went today for two hours and didn't even realize how long I had been there... you can just lap it over and over again. I've been to Blankets Creek but not to Allatoona Creek yet.
@@theslowrider Hey man keep in mind everybody starts at 0. Just keep riding. The more you ride, the better you get. The better you get, the more confident you become. With confidence comes progression. Start small and work your way up! You'll get there.
It's my favorite local spot. They also just opened up a brand new (very large) jumpline called Hollywood if you're into that. I'm about to remake this video actually so keep an eye out and you can see what all the trails look like 1 year later
I usually do the single track trails at big creek a couple times a week. But rarely do I do the jump park. I'll have to spend some time at the jump park. It rides really fast.
The free ride section is pretty much where I learned how to ride. Has a little bit of everything and you can lap it easily. Ride some flow to warm up then hit the tech trails for practice. Those little jump lines are awesome and are really good for getting comfortable with some medium sized jumps. One of the best local spots

Any recommendations on a bike for someone trying to get into downhill trail riding? Have decent experience riding just not a lot of trails. Price range would be under 1,000
Honestly, you're probably gonna have to double that price point to get a new* full suspension bike capable of hitting any kind of downhill-ish trails. If you're looking for an "all-around" kind of bike, I'd look for trail bikes with around (130mm-140mm front, 120mm-130mm rear suspension). I know Polygon Siskiu is a popular "cheap" bike but I can't speak for it's quality. Check out www.bikesonline.com and search around for full-suspension bikes. Also, you can look for used bikes on www.theproscloset.com where you can sometimes find good deals. Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled on facebook marketplace and stuff like that. Keep in mind, in general, what you don't pay for in quality up front, you often pay for in maintenance and replacement parts down the line.
@@_Aitch_ I would imagine you wouldn’t want to risk your health going down a trail on a bike that’s not made well haha. So you’re saying anything worth having, even for an intro, would be starting around 2k?
@@landonp4726 For full suspension, yes, $2k is a solid entry price. People will say, start with a hardtail and see if you're into it then go from there. But in my opinion, if you really see yourself getting into it, an investment in a solid full suspension is worth it. In my case, I saw videos of people riding on youtube and was like "yea, I want to do that"... and I'm glad I bought the Scott Spark 970 to start. Where do you live though? That's a big part of it. If you live in a flat area, a hardtail wouldn't be too bad.
The wood feature at 0:04 is from Black Creek in Gadsden, Alabama. The specific trail is called "Dog Hill." (It is just part of my intro scene and is not a feature at Big Creek. I hope that is the feature you are talking about. Feel free to reply otherwise if you are talking about something different.

I’ve been riding free ride on my gt aggressor pro and my dad gets made cuz my rims get bent. I’m also on the local big creek composite mtb team.
