I decided to make this video as a followup to my previous video about not having serviced my watch for over 21 years. What I found out and learned since then.
If your watch has been made within the last 15 years , then No need to service regularly if your watch is part of a larger rotation as long as it is operating properly. Newer synthetic oils do not degrade, evaporate or gunk up like old mineral based oils. Annually check it on a timegraph and if amplitude is between 250-315, low beat error and not loosing or gaining excessive time then it is unnecessary to have invasive interventions that may introduce problems when there were none.
My seamaster is 10yrs old. I asked my local omega boutique what the turnaround time is for a service. They said I'd be lucky to have my watch back within 28 weeks due to a shortage of technicians 😮. Wow, long time.
