Then you’re not a true fan. It doesn’t matter to me how this goes. It was a 6th rounder and the jets are splitting his 5.5 million dollar salary with us. So 2.25 million for this. Any real fan can hang in until next year when we start to emerge from the Russell debacle. And 2.25 is very little money for a backup even. He has experience at least and a possible better situation in Denver. He does have talent. So it’s take it in stride. We know we’re screwed cause of Russell but the best thing we can do is ride out at least this year and be better positioned next year. With only owing 28 million in dead cap to Russell. We’re eating 58 mill this year to better set us up.

There was one game that gave people faith for Zach. The game he played against Mahomes where he actually beat Mahomes in most measurable stats and still lost
and thats because it was the chiefs defense that made them an elite team and won them a superbowl this past FEB....

Just keep in mind the jets beat the chiefs last season. Granted the jets have a good defense but I get logic tho, idk how the broncos gm has not been fired yet considering all the players they let go for seemingly no return and all the money they lost paying these players
He’s has starter experience and he’s still on his rookie contract (so he’s cheap). Denver is in cap hell because of all the dead money on the books for Russel. They also aren’t in a strong draft position. They can’t trade up. Zack is a short term solution to a big problem that there isn’t a good answer for. No decent QB is going to Denver to play for peanuts. If they magic themselves into a QB in the draft then Zack will be a solid backup. If Zack sucks and they lose a bunch, that solves their draft position problem next year. If he wins some games this season then the team will tread water long enough to get through the cap hell they are in.

I answered that with an earlier post. Every Jets backup with the exception of Tim Boyle, played better than Zach with the same roster and coaching staff. And the backups had next to 0 reps with the starters.
Zach Wilson is the exact same QB he was when he got drafted. He has not caught up to the speed of the pro game. He shows zero growth or potential. Trading for him is an excuse to tank in case Denver can't draft the QB they want.
