Jimmy Timmy (Animation Test 1)

Recently, models from the Jimmy Neutron movie leaked from the source of an old GBA game. Folks in the Jimmy Neutron community have been working to restore them, and just my luck-- Bezkii ( jacko_tc/status/1... a rig and texture restoration for Blender! Decided this was the perfect opportunity to learn Blender and start practicing working with both FOP and JN’s animation styles!…. Of course updated so I can work with them haha.
So in this I rebuilt my Timmy Turner rig to be more animator friendly and show accurate, animated it in Adobe Animate, and rendered it as a transparent video. THEN I imported that video as an image plane into blender and started animating the Jimmy Neutron rig next to him.
I used a clip from Power Hour 3 as my practice clip!
I’m still kinda inexperienced with 3D animation, especially in blender, so I’m still learning a workflow that gives me the control I need to have it look good. I’m this test I didn’t get to animate his fingers or detail the keyframes of his expressions-- but the rig was updated and I plan to do another test with the tighter controls!

If I had to nitpick the only thing I'd have to complain about is probably how obvious Timmy looks to be a rig which is something you'd see in the very late seasons of FOP but other than that another banger from Jake
Think you do another one from the first one or in the end they shake hands back into the original animation styles

I still cant get over how you singlehandedly implemented rigged animation for fairly odd parents infinitely better than the actual show did
Yeah the actual show made the character movements WAY too fluid, but like the rest of us Jake knows that the animation is supposed to be a little stilted
@@toonacyedits8521 yeah. The whole point of the animation is that it's snappy and quick. Not only was the Canon rigged animation too smooth, they also unessesarily animated it at parts when the earlier seasons would have kept the drawings still

This is insanely good with the mix between 2d and 3d
I cant stop hearing the tf2 “select class” sound when you hover your mouse over a class at the end of the sound lol

To be honest, Timmy's had a healthier relationship with Jimmy than most of his friends, let's be honest.

I’m generally surprised at how Jakeneutron also works at not only 2D animation but also 3D animation. It’s like if that portal thing at the end of the first power hour special was made into this scene. And I love it

Fun fact in the first Timmy jimmy power hour that scene of them shaking hands took weeks because of the different frame rates that’s the only time 2d and 3d were used at the same time without a split in the middle so this is kinda impressive

That's almost how I would always imagine Jimmy be animated on modern days, including his movie outfit.
If I didn't know better, I'd say this was a genuine animation test from the special itself! Nicely done!
This looks way better than the flash animation of Late Season 10 of the Fairly Oddparents.
3D animation doesn't look as accurate as the 2D animation but like... They're both absolutely amazing especially considering this is practice for using Blender. Keep it up! Also I think the main reason it looks off is because of the lighting.
But its the official movie model though- 👁👄👁

I love when people mix 2D and 3D together, and I don't mean adding 2D textures to 3D assets like in spider-verse, I mean literally having 2D and 3D characters come together like this! There's a canceled DreamWorks movie called "Me and My Shadow" that used this technique and it looked awesome!
