    I carry in my tactical sporran in a DeSantis pocket holster. I'm interested in this one though. The amount of pockets are insane!!!!

      And it's durable as hell!! I've put mine through everything and it still holds up great after seven years of hunting, hiking, fishing and everything else I can throw at it.

    A wonderful tradesman kilt. I'm excited to get my utility I ordered, I can tell you. But I haven't found Kiltman Kilts at Amazon. 🙂

    Great review. I've been worried about how to carry in a kilt. Those slash pockets look like they'd easily hold a Ruger LCPII. Do you think they could manage a Springfield Hellcat? Not sure I'd want that banging against my leg in a cargo pocket.

    • @kiltedandbearded6895
      @kiltedandbearded6895  Před 2 lety +1

      I have an LCP and it fits easily, the hellcat would be unconformable as hell I think. My XD fits but not at all comfortably. The way the pockets work there's very little movement, no flopping around, like you might expect, plus you can move the pocket up to your belt if you prefer. Your gun stays completely concealed and protected without any printing. To me it's the most comfortable way to carry.

      @@kiltedandbearded6895 Oddball question, and sorry to bother considering the age of this video, but I have to ask. Is the internal holster a full slide retention holster, or would it be suitable for a firearm with a red dot? In my case, I carry a Sig P365x w/ Optic, but I know that not all holsters allow carry with optic.

    • @kiltedandbearded6895
      @kiltedandbearded6895  Před rokem

      @@sebastiang8634 the pocket is designed for a sub compact, my Springfield XD is a snug fit. I can fit a Hellcat with a red dot but I'm not sure about your Sig. The internal holster is a bit generic as far as holsters go. It's a stretchy nylon type, kinda like the retention on a belly band. It works great since the pocket completely covers and protects your gun.

      @@kiltedandbearded6895 Exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks for the reply. I ended up ordering a kilt and some pockets to try it out and see what works. Worse case scenario, I know I have a minimalist holster that can connect to MOLLE, and the webbing on the inside of the survival pocket seems just about right for that.

  • @jemmettpage

    Has anyone had a problem with the closure studs going through the front pocket? One side is fine but the left pocket has the row of studs punched through it. Just close enough together to allow only a single finger through, so perfect or loosing change and keys in so you cant get them out without taking it off and shaking it upside down! Kiltman wont reply to me so I'm asking on here!

    • @kiltedandbearded6895
      @kiltedandbearded6895  Před 3 lety

      Never had a problem with them. I returned a kilt due to a sizing issue and they were quick to respond and sent me the new kilt on good faith that I would return the other. They've always been great with me.

    After watching your video, I went to buy one for my husband but it seems like they may not be doing business anymore. I've been waiting over 6 months for them to restock their kilts and pockets. It's too bad because they had some really awesome kilts and accessories.

    • @kiltedandbearded6895
      @kiltedandbearded6895  Před 5 lety +1

      With some of these kilt companies they wait for orders and then have several built at once. With Kiltman their customer service was great when I ordered from them. I think it took 3 weeks to get my kilt. I'm not sure what happened with your kilt, hopefully you went straight to Kiltman kilts and not an outside source. Hopefully you get it figured out since the Kiltman is the best kilt for the price, it's still my favorite.

      @@kiltedandbearded6895 I did know that it may take some time for kilts to be made and I did go directly to Kiltman Kilts to ask about it. I went to his Facebook page and saw that just yesterday he posted that he had major manufacturing issues that ended up in a legal battle. He is supposed to have more in stock in May. I have reached out to him again but haven't heard anything back yet. It looks like there is still hope for those of us that want to get a Kiltman Kilt!

    How well does that holster pocket protect the trigger?

    • @kiltedandbearded6895
      @kiltedandbearded6895  Před 5 lety +1

      As well as can be expected from a soft holster. You obviously don't get the protection and confidence of kydex, but with the positioning of the pocket and the materials used it is adequate for safety.

    These kilts are WAY overpriced. There are kilts from UT Kilts and USA Kilts that are compatible for less than half of these

    • @kiltedandbearded6895
      @kiltedandbearded6895  Před rokem

      I've got kilts from UT kilts, Damn Near Kilt 'm, and the the quality isn't even close to comparable. I've worn out three UT's in the the time I've owned my Kiltman. Not to mention the far superior pocket system. The extra $50 I paid was well worth it.

      I can understand that and respect it, it's a cultural difference that may be hard to understand if you were not raised around guns. I will say this however, every single person I know with a concealed carry permit would be the last person to commit a violent act. They never under any circumstance brandish their weapon or cause trouble. The community I live in has had maybe two murders in 45 years, violent crime is non existent and nearly everyone carries a gun. Would be criminals know the risk therefore they don't attempt the crime. Concealed carry is a common practice here, particularly in rural communities. I spend a lot of time in the wild, encounters with bears are common and I prefer my .45 to bear spray.

      @@kiltedandbearded6895 my courteously on the road improved the first day I started carrying, and my son says he had the same experience. For some reason when you're armed you become more polite toward others, and whether you're riding or on foot minor offenses are allowed to pass without so much as a second thought. Truth is I prefer the company of armed people, as a general rule they are reserved and more thoughtful in their actions. I'm confident you've experienced the same, as this seems to be a universal truth.
      Also you've sold me on that kilt. Looks like I could ride at highway speeds without finding the hem blowing up around my neck.
