Honestly, the sad one makes the most sense going into the final mission. Sal's just lost Lou and the land to build the casino, but Tommy is just the final straw. He knows he's a dead man, and when you reach him, he's done with everything.
Sal knew bribing the Governor and paying for all the legal fees would get him nowhere. With Tommy left he could have paid for all that with the counterfeit money.
I love how as you progress through the story sal at first thinks that Lincoln being alive won't hurt his goal from making gambling legal and open the casino, but overtime he realizes that Lincoln is a one man army and so he starts to get paranoid and make decisions that would make Lincoln give sal limited options
Glad this game's getting some renewed loved. Angry Sal is my favourite. Just cause I like that he's really feeling the heat after all the bullshit he put us through.
@@derekbautSad Sal really shows what it’s like to lose a close family member like Lincoln did. And since Tommy burned it was like how Sammy Ellis and Danny burned
It makes way more sense to kill Tommy last though because by the time you get to him he was already broken from what you did to his younger brother then to his only Giorgi. The man had no more fight in him but he still enough hate for their killer to say he will them again in Hell soon.
That's the one I got followed by keeping all underbosses alive and putting Vito in power. I didn't know there was different last stand emotions, I just wanted to kill off the human traffickers and KKK people first. The sad last stand emotion seems the most fitting as he went through the stages of grief dealing with the fall of his empire as he lastly goes from sadness to accepting the loss of his empire and son when drinking one last time with Lincoln.
I like the angry version of his scene better just for the sole purpose of Marcano yelling at Gorgi about shooting Lincoln Gorgi: You were there, I shot him in the fuckin head! Marcano: ONCE!!!! YOU SHOT HIM ONCE!!!!
I really like how this changes and the performances in each version are great. My two playthroughs I always got the last version because I saved taking out Olivia last, mainly because that means I get to take down the Southern Union with the best weapons and upgrades.
I save taking out Lou last to see him throw the phone. But killing Tommy last really shows how Lincoln felt when he saw Sammy and Ellis burn like Tommy did
I love how each of these different cutscenes also reflects Sal's perception of each of his family members. He cared the most about his brother Tommy so of course he's the most heart broken with his death. His brother 'Uncle' Lou he felt didn't take any of this shit serious and finding out he got himself killed (after his brother Tommy died in this timeline) enrages him. His sister in law Olivia he thought would be untouchable and he's terrified, especially after the person they needed to sign the land over disappears without a trace. Honestly all 3 of these reactions could even fit in just one cutscene so its nice to see the devs took into account that people may do a different order in regards to which Capo you take out first and last.

I’ve re-played mafia 3 a couple times now. BUT I never knew there was special dialogue depending on who was killed last. Pretty cool detail to see after all this time, couldn’t see it until now. Cool video dude :))
My first playthrough I got the angry cutscene. I didn't know this was a thing, but I know I wanted to save Lou for last cause I wanted that to REALLY sting. So I'm glad my intention literally lined up and made it clear to him. This time it's his brother, next? Sal himself.
That's the beauty of this game that people overlook. The amount of work 2K did with the story, from the writing to the acting, all integrated with the gameplay and the decisions you make, it makes it more unique.
He probably gonna be dead, They killed 1st mafia protagonist, and gave us choice to kill Vito. If Lincoln got in Mafia 4, there might be a mission where we can choose if we want to kill Lincoln.
Do you know where Sal Marcano's office is? When he's always talking to his son in the office, you can see houses in the background, where are they? In the center of the city?
I always try to have Uncle Lou killed last cause Sal’s reaction made the most sense from all that occurred. Him reprimanding Giorgi for only shooting Lincoln once summed up how that moment was ultimately the first of many nails in his coffin. It was like every decision he made to keep his casino project afloat was ultimately sunk by Lincoln Clay
I know people love to trash mafia 3 by claiming it got rid of all the details from previous mafia games... but there's so many small details of it's own, it really feels like people just expected it to be too similar to the old ones. As a fan of the series since mafia 1, mafia 3 feels underappreciated.
Its weird i killed the oliva first and then when the final capo cutscene comes through they try to play it again, this is the first time im seeing the tommy talk.
My favorite is the second one. Watching him throw the phone against the wall, and then arguing with his son like that. I’m not sure if there’s a right order to kill the targets, though.
I really like taking out Tommy last. It's not just because I prefer the way the cutscene plays out between Sal and Giorgi, but because of a certain line of dialogue Lincoln says to Tommy, after Tommy talks about law school and says that him being in family 'the business' is because 'it's in the blood'. Lincoln response is: "You are who you are, ain't no point arguing with yourself about it." And I just really, really like how that line be slotted in near the end of the game, because that fits with the path Lincoln took to seek vengeance against Sal and his family. Also, although I've never had it happen while playing but did see it on CZcams, the cutscene after Lincoln ensures Burke dies also fits(in my opinion) with the 'You are who you are' sentiment. Though, it only fits well if that scene plays out before Lincoln goes after Tommy. Edit: I've think I've typed something akin to this out on another Mafia 3 video, but I can't remember which one.
I didn't even realize this was a thing. H13 may have dropped the ball gameplay-wise, but they didn't skimp out on the story. I wish they gave it a second make over to bring the game up to Mafia 1 remake standards.
I never played any mafia game through. Is 3 worth buying for the story experience? Heard a lot of good stuff about 1 and 2, but after 3 was released it was said to be very buggy. Probably most of it fixed by now. The scenes in this video are pretty cool. And how connected are the storylines? Should i get the other games first? Buy only on sale? Let me know what you think, reader.
3's story is decent. The gameplay is kinda bland after a while and in many ways a simplified open-world experience compaired to the previous games and Mafia 1 remake (Mafia Definitive Edition). Still, I say go for it. One thing all 3 games got going is nailing the eras the games are set in and telling great stories. They are not connected aside from name drops and the main character of Mafia 2 showing up in 3. I do recommend trying to play them in order though or you may miss some references.
Hahaha, I could see the best version, as I killed Uncle Lou the last one, I'd say that's the canon one, with Tommy being the 1st to fall, as it's from less, to more importance.
