"Dona Nobis Pacem" - BC Youth Choir 2022 (Dr. Jim Sparks, Conductor)

The BCCF joins with the entire choral community of British Columbia and beyond in a commemorative salute to the late Dr. Jim Sparks, who passed away suddenly and tragically at the end of July, 2022.
His most recent work with the BCCF was in May of 2022. At the Annex Theatre in Vancouver, he was on the podium of the British Columbia Youth Choir, a group he had mentored throughout the previous two years of the COVID pandemic. As a final tribute, we offer this video of the BC Youth Choir under Jim’s direction singing the closing movement of J.S. Bach’s B Minor Mass, Dona nobis pacem (Give us peace).

Dr. Sparks leaves behind a legacy of inspired singers. He was a sensitive and profound human who will be deeply missed. This is a beautiful performance.
