This is a beautiful peace of worship. The conductor was putting his heart and soul into it bless him. WHY OH WHY couldn't the choir have looked happy too and enjoy worshipping the Lord show it on your faces . Our tiny choir sung this piece a couple of weeks ago we loved evrty moment and showed it. How I wish we could put it in here. .

I had an 8th grade english teacher who tried to get us to sing this for graduation. An urban school in the heart of the bronx with nothing but bad youth kids. It didn't happen lol but yrs later I still appreciate the sliver of classical history he tried his best to teach us. I still remember it by heart to this day. He was always one of my favrites.

@@christineconstable8508 Leif Ahlberg is from the southern parts of Sweden. He used to play the organ in Mariakyrkan in Båstad. He´s now retired, but still occasionally active as a singing leader (as far as I know). He was the very first conductor of the ViN choir in Norrköping in 1995.

Ein wunderschönes Lied. Genau so wird es nächstes Jahr bei meiner Hochzeit in der Kirche gesungen aber mit einem halb so großen Orchester aber gleich großem Chor. Es wird nach dem Ringtausch gesungen. Bekomme jedesmal Gänsehaut wenn ich es höre!

I cried waching and listening to this choir. I was one of choir members of my university back in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. This reminds me of all my friends of yhe orientation for freshmen of this university back in 1975. I am proud that I was in that choir singing it. It is so great song. I still remember that the great conductor that time was Mr. Odang. However, this oschestra is so soothing and make me miss my freshmen orientation. Thanks to you all.
This song use to make me cry. I played euphonium music instrument in the our orchestra. When the coductor first brought it sothat we could play it.
Unfortunately some members of the band have passed on. But the trumpet players made me admire it more. By then our country was in a new phase of democracy and our first democratic President had just been released after serving 27 years on jail because he wanted for eguality amongst us people we the in South Africa.
So this song brought hope to the hopeless. So peace and tranquility was at hand. To those around the world, who yearn for peace. This song is for you.

This conductor is truly wonderful - he loves the music, he loves the message and he loves all the singers and musicians he is conducting. It is so heartwarming to see him smile while he is singing and conducting.The choirs really mean what they are singing. Magical, solemn atmosphere in this church with the audience singing along ... it is beautiful and I would have loved to be there.

Our dad taught us this song when we were kids. I never thought this is how it sounds in a huge performing group. We were only 4 little girls singing this song. So sad Dad died at age of 43 in 2007. 😭

Every Christmas Eve night at the 11 o'clock service, my church's choir sang this acapella in the dark, surrounding the pews. All the candles are "snuffed" out and slowly, one by one each member of the choir would sing. Just beautiful and always brings me to tears - even when I'm happy

I do a lot of walking in the country with my sons. A favourite walk is around CAMPS RESERVOIR, near Crawford, South Lanarkshire.
It was built by German prisoners of war. A beautiful construction. There is no plaque or inscription to the memory of our dear brothers who built it.
Anyone can , however research the history on the internet. A small cluster of houses are new- built nearby.

Ja, der Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart war ein ganz großer Komponist....Zauberflöte, etc.,...Habe den Kanon ebenso schon, auch als Solist mit anderen, gesungen. Wunderschön!

Habe ansonsten einen breiten Musikgeschmack und auch eine sehr variable Stimme (Jazz, Soul, Jodeln, usw.), spiele mehrere Instrumente. Musik ist nicht nur für gute Zeiten da: sie hilft über schwere Zeiten, die wohl jeder mal erlebt (Versterben von lieben, sehr nahen Menschen) im Leben hinweg. Ein Glück, wer da Zugang zu diesem Medium hat....Wer leider nicht dazugehört, weiß m.E. gar nicht, was ihm entgeht.

Ich schätze mich auch glücklich wegen meiner Begabung und bin sehr dankbar dafür. Denke, das sind die Gene: Meine Mutter hatte im Opernchor gesungen und mein Vater ging zu Frau Frieda Fronmüller ( eine Kirchenmusikdirektorin-weiß nicht, ob die Ihnen ein Begriff ist?) in den Musikunterricht (Gesang und mehrere instrumente). Wie haben früher oft Hausmusik gemacht. War in einem musischen Gymnasium....Musik hilft einem auch durch diese Corona-Zeit zu kommen...Wird einem nie langweilig! Nochmals: Alles Gute!
