The fact that people accepted it was safe because Poseidon locked his funds in a smart contract, shows how stupid people are when it comes to crypto. Literally the chain the token is minted on is made up of smart contracts, doesn't mean sheet, no different from sending and receiving transactions.

Aren't smart contracts open source? At least the bytecode, which I imagine you can reverse engineer to an extent. I believe the entire point of fungible tokens is that you can trust in the code. Either you can see the code and the fact that it has a big red button in the form of a function that withdraws the liquidity pool (which should be an obvious red flag), or it's not open source and so you know it can't be trusted.
The fact people gave him money for this is insane. We probably need more laws to protect low iq andy's getting scammed, but then what would streamers do for money?

To answer the question of whether or not anyone will do anything about it if people report it, the answer is: as of right now, no. What he did was not illegal. People bought his shit coin, the price went up, he sold more to them. That's it. Those are the hard facts. All the narrative elements around it are kind of irrelevant.

Honestly people should've learnt by now that no influencer coin will ever go anywhere. We've had a hot streak of rug pulls and not one success. It's fairly obvious that you'll get ripped off but people still invest and that's just odd to me.
The hardest hitting part is when he says he doesn't care and isn't gonna return it. I am poor as hell, toilet doesn't work, bathroom floor caving in, roof leaks, roof falling in, hot water didn't work for two months, electricity in half my house doesn't work and I know what it's like to live without things that quite honestly I'd love to have. The fact he straight up admits he took the money and feels no regrets despite being RICH and not needing the money is honestly one of the most disheartening things to hear as a fan of Ice Poseidon. This completely changes my view on the guy and I will no longer be supporting him.

No, laws do not apply retroactively in the US. Ex post facto laws are forbidden by the constitution for both federal and state governments. For something like a substance being banned, you would have to dispose of it within some timeframe. Don't ask literal children in chat for legal advice.
