That’s why pirates of the Caribbean did amazingly with Davy jones. The director knew how to light shots that highlighted the realism of cgi and downplayed the uncanny valley effects
CGI costumes were a good idea for Green Lantern because his green suit and mask were made from the ring. Perhaps the suit could have been done better, but it makes sense in the case of Green Lantern to use CGI because the suit itself is glowy and supernatural.
I still think the suits needed to be more of a call back to the older film. They looked to simple like some dude putting lights on his car. It should look more cybernetic. The old film did great giving them a visual design of an imaginary electronic world. The suits design was the weakest part of them movie.
I mostly liked it but it felt like it didn't quite entirely nail it. I never entirely understood why the life forms that appeared were so significant and why Clu took so much against them. The film sort of explains the latter but it didn't feel entirely convincing.

It made no sense considering the fact that the ring is a real prop that is powered by the human
I've always loved tron legacy, I think it might've been the film that showed me what cgi is about
It’s ironic that the first TRON from 1982 had much less physical sets due to everything being added in post despite the movie being much older.
I feel this movie was snubbed for a vfx nomination
In my opinion you should do a video on the Iron man suits and not just the intercom
Can’t wait for the 4k remaster
Tron needs a good reboot or sequel. It's been far too long without Tron in our lives... 😢
Or we could watch the old one again and not let the current ‘only use cgi’ companies get their hands on it
Aside from Jeff Bridges's face obviously...lol
That’s so interesting. Definitely wouldn’t have expected those lights to be neon

Speed Racer next
Oh yeah the weird plastic version of the main villain... SUPER REALISTIC
Answer: because Disney spent $170 Million 😂
Wait this film had good CGI?
interesting
Too bad the film itself was ass
