Welcome to the official CZcams channel of CGY!
Film makers, fans and watchers have many questions about CGI and VFX in their favourite movies.
➡️If you're interesting in learning about why certain VFX look good or bad, why they were used, and why we don't see practical effects anymore , you’ve come to the right place.
I’ve been studying and working in VFX for several years, and want to create discussions on VFX quality, styles, practices and show behind the curtain of VFX.
I've seen so many of my favourite franchises ruined by poor VFX.
➡️ But so much cool VFX often gets overlooked in the discussion about CGI.
I’m currently sharing the specific actions VFX studios take to make good and bad VFX, one video at a time.
Definitely subscribe to my channel and hit the bell to never miss a video 🔔

Why Does the Podracing Scene Still Look So Realistic After 20 Years?
Andy Serkis wasn’t the first??
Despite being a video of explicitly deconstructing the visual effects with an abundant amount of documented "cheating" , I still find practically close to no faults in the integrity of the film haha
Bay should've just stopped at the first movie, the plot was a mess, but this was perfection in action. We don't talk about the sequels(except maybe 3)
Say whatever you want about this film but you can’t deny the amount of effort and care that went into it. From the directing, to the script, or the action and or the animation. This is much more than I can say about rise of the beasts. Which for some reason a lot of people prefer that rushed mess over this genuinely fun film to watch.
Woopwoop Kingston spotted at 8:11
Idk why cgi is going bad right now, while they gaining so much money earn, they cgi maker dont get paid much, its the artist that get paid a lot
I'm sure the color grading plays a role too. It's so contrasted, a lot of the movie is flat black spots with rimlights
Late 2000s and earlier 2010s had some of the most amazing cgi that puts a lot of modern movies to shame
Looking at the recent Transformers films, I'd take lack of character development over photo-realistic CGI any day.
I wasnt into the plot I think, CGI was okay for me. Its just that the space-cop idea and the generic superhero origin story didn't pull me rlly
You should do a video on the spider-man 3 symbiote cgi I’m very interested in how they did that,
It was a wild movie. I assumed it was GoPro footage but didn't look like it. Now I know why. Great vid. Keep up the good work.
The more realistic the better
waffle, Waffle, Waffle, talk slowly, repeating the same point over and over, to get to the point, hIt monitation point and then end the video. I hate bullshit like this. make real content disckwad!

Some people act like the CGI in this film was the same quality of the CGI used in the escape of King Kong from the theater in the 2005 film or CGI Rock-Scorpion in the Mummy film. I thaugt they failed because of the characters and story.
better than she hulk
she hulk is a disgrace to CGI, Film making, Dialogue writing, and overall plotting. It's arguably the worst thing that humans have created.
There's nothing wrong with the cgi. It's really good. Also, it's a great movie. It's one of my top tens.
Best explanation ever of my favorite movies ever made ❤❤❤ much love bro
“The most cinematic movie ever made”??! WHAT?! 😂 Coming back to your video’s point though, Bay is one of the world’s most awarded commercial directors. He’d spent years photographing this stuff and making it look the sexiest, hottest it will ever look, and was able to communicate this to his VFX teams.
So in short Millenials hated this movie along with Andrew's Spidey and Cavil's Superman but genz grew up watching those movies and defending it now including me btw.
Wait does that mean Alphas will Defend Rey Skywalker trilogy in the future? 💀
This movie was literally better than entire new woke phases of marvel.
The problem with the relative ease of CGI compared to practical effects is that they appear to tempt filmmakers to use them too much, and to depict implausible actions and scenarios. The warehouse shot of Raiders is the culmination of the movie, a strikingly haunting and bitterly ironic image. It has much more staying power due to its placement in the film and the message it visually conveys as opposed to having a whole chase sequence set in the same scenario.
Honestly Reynolds as Green Lantern was worst casting in the history of casting also one thing is that Ryan trash talk about green lantern whenever he gets a chance like man let the character go he really irritates me sometimes.
Fuck, CZcams downloads this beautiful video too slowly -_-
You should make a she hulk video
the film was on a low budget... forced to squeeze the creativity and perserverane of the staffs who are working on the movie.. deadpool fan for life!!!!!
I was 10 when this came out and it still goes hard as fuck
worst cgi really?
This little movie showing the big boys how it's done. With more passion and less greed. 🎥
Transformers set the standard for CGI in my opinion, heck I think it actually looks better than the ones in Pirates of the Caribbean albeit the margin is small. I feel like the glint they have and how they correspond to the surrounding lighting makes it so clean along with it's texture.
I really liked the movie tho but I was 14 or so at the time so that might be nostalgia and you know how rosy that makes things lol
Half way into the video and the Meandering is of the Level with this content creator. I had to stop.
I'm not sure I'd call the *design* of the Transformers realistic. It's incredibly busy, looking like a jumble of random metal parts roughly glued into a human-shaped form. It's hard to read and doesn't seem like it would even work mechanically.
Internet: hates transformers cause the designs are busy* Me: hates that they’re partsforming*
Batman needs the white eyes in live action
The problem was that it wasn't necessary. And it still isn't necessary. It's just that Disney completely blew the doors off the hinges a long time ago so now everything has have an excessive amount of CGI when wires and a blue screen would've sufficed.
This make me think of John Wick 4, the Arc de Triomphe scene. Which they CGI the location instead of the stunts.
The true answer is only seven words: the movie cost like a billion dollars.
Your kidding me right?
Why has the quality dropped? It's the same with the automobile industry. They've taken something that was once done with passion, where the creators had time to develop something remarkable, and then the executives saw how lucrative it was, condensed it down, repackaged it and then demanded the same results in a tenth of the time. Clarkson once described an old car design in Top Gear, it was one of the original Jaguars if I recall correctly, and he told a story of how the designer manually hammered out panels with his hands in his front garden using the natural sunlight to tweak and adjust until the curves were just right. These days, cars are just pumped out using CAD, obeying a cookie cutter design philosophy, and released in record time. C suite execs are the reason everything turns to shite.

Idk, i think Green Lantern's cgi body is better than Stayne's. Both are in some sort of uncanny valley, but to me, Stayne's is more uncanny. I think it's more because of Alice in Wonderland's setting being in this bizarre unrealistic world that Stayne's uncanny valley is largely ignored since he fits the world. On the other hand, Green Lantern is in a more "realistic" setting which makes the uncanniness of his cgi body more prominent. On isolation though, i think Green Lantern is better in almost every way. The bright green color on the neck area making a massive contrast with the skin color is probably one of the tip offs that makes us think it looks bad.
Ooooooh my god. CGY, like CGI, but CGwhy? This took me way too long to figure out.
I do keep thinking back about how awesome this movie looks
Well, I just watched it and I just want to say that it isn't bad at all
Disney's budget on their films are like Modern Art, all overly hyped for Money Laundering.
My only thought is how you went nearly 20 minutes talking about the amazing achievement of HCH without once mentioning the movie where this perspective really hit home; the opening sequence of Strange Days. Is the whole movie in first person? Nope. But the first ~10 minutes are and it was mind blowing back in 1995.
I don't know why they didn't add a green neck piece to the actual suit so when rendering they could just add what's there.
