Only one band I can think of that has been around more than 50 years is the rolling Stones and I'm sure they have a special bond with each other as well but the fact that these two men married two women and they became like sisters is just pure destiny. They have enriched my life in more ways than I can say God bless Abba forever❤😊🎉

They all 4 have done well to share a friendship together & Voyage must definitely re-defined it for them . There were turbulent times for the couples of course and in the end it became too difficult to continue at that time .

@@diannepower7196 I have been a fan from the start. No other group has had an impression on me like ABBA have. I have seen Benny perform with BAO in London and his introduction of an ABBA song they performed told how he still had good feelings of the groups days together. They still keep in touch with each other even though going their own separate ways, a family bond that was never really broken. I don't mind that they may not sing together live again, but long to see them all together on stage somewhere.

Two unimaginable creative souls coming together in friendship and loyalty to weave their magical talents into a living tapestry of incredible music and song that the world can enjoy and be immersed in for eternity, they are legends but also magical mystical wizards.I always remember and think of the video footage of them together in that little cottage on the island of the Swedish Archipelago and sense the perfect connection between them and the creative music and songs they are conjuring and making for the world they love and all that let them into their hearts.

The story of ABBA is truly wonderful. It was already written in the stars that these fantastic four had to meet. In my opinion, what Bjorn and Benny did best was having the idea of singing together with the girls and form the best band of all time, whose name has the initials of their own names. Their friendship is forever.

What’s incredible about ABBA is that there are so many cliches to describe them but in their case, those cliches are actually true.
One of my favorite BB moment is seeing the two “boys” arm in arm jumping up and down in their shiny pants as they are receiving the adulation of the audience at Wembley in 1979.❤”

It seems ironic that Benny was kind of the afterthought in that initial Polar Music deal when, decades later, we have come to realize that Benny is absolutely the main musical force behind these wonderful songs. I mean... I'm sure Bjorn is talented in his own way, especially with lyrics. But I always got the impression that he was not a particularly good instrumentalist, singer or composer and that Benny was behind the immaculate melodies, harmonies, orchestrations and chords in addition to his virtuosic piano playing.
They both understood each others strengths and minor weaknesses right from the start. That's why they were so sucessful.

Gee in 1971 I was 17 yrs old back then Budweiser had the coolest add at the Oklahoma State Fair they had the Budweiser wagon and the band and the rides was much fun.
I do remember ABBA I can tell by there voices when they sing they had that Swedish accent and thought this is so different so I ended up buying couple 8 track tapes of ABBA.
They were great sounded good till there divorces & band break up this was 😭 they kept on singing they could have lot more great music and band.

I always see ABBA as four couples: A&B, B&A, B&B, A&A. They are like a self-solving puzzle - put it together, take it apart, rearrange it in any combination and the inexplicable and elusive alchemy that exists between them always gives us the same perfect result.

Morjen Bobby, ich habe es von Anfang an gedacht, das die Beiden und alle 4 zusammen, ein „ Traumteam“ sind, die sich finden sollten, da sie „ Seelenverwandt“ sind. Das war und ist kein Zufall für mich. Diese 4 Menschen haben ihre Aufgabe, ihre Berufung und ihre Ziele in diesem Leben erreichen können, dank auch vieler Menschen im Hintergrund.
So etwas ist sehr selten und deshalb ist es auch etwas ganz Besonderes! Alles fügt sich nun zusammen zum großen Finale und das haben sich alle 4 redlich verdient und sehr hart erarbeitet. Das Wichtigste für mich ist und bleibt aber, das alle 4 immer authentisch waren und sind, Bescheiden, Herzlich und immer mit viel Liebe und Respekt zu jedermann. Das ist gerade in der heutigen Welt äußerst selten anzutreffen. Deshalb sind alle 4 für mich Vorbilder und trotzdem Menschen geblieben, mit allen Ecken und Kanten….

I don't think they are friends in the social frame of mind. They are 2 guys that have know and trusted each other for decades, and know each other's strengths and weaknesses. But nowadays, they have very little in common. Björn likes to be in the forefront; he's on social media platforms, he's the president of Cisac, he's the spokesperson of Abba related topics. Benny doesn't like to be interviewed. In fact, he said interviews made him nervous (not as much now as it was before though). They don't meet socially, they only meet occasionally for business arrangements. Are they really friends then? Or just professional partners in crime?
In the early part of their careers they did socialize a lot as did the girls.
Yes. Absolutley. Benny has also went into extreme political in Sweden with funding and support for the feminist party. Björn not so much. So these days I think they do like each other but has grown apart. But their history makes a very strong bond.

Its like something cosmic, Bjorn met Frida in 1964 though neither can remember it, Benny and Bjorn met in 66, Agnetha and Frida met in 68 the Benny meets Frida and Agnetha meets Bjorn and they begin working together, what are the chances! Although Benny and Bjorn have writen songs individually as well as with other composers, its only the ones they wrote together that really impacted with the fans, and to a lesser extent for most people than the ones Agnetha and Frida are involved with. I think I've felt more uncomfortable as a fan with things either Benny or Bjorn has said in an interview than I ever have by anything either of the women have said.
They sure like each other, but I don't think Björn did that of loyalty really.
I belive he simply wanted to continue work with Benny, and saw his potential.

Yes, you’re absolutely right. I’m a deep fan of S&G and their solo works. This was no reference to writing duos, but to general musical duos, who spend their work and lives together intensely.

It’s sad that Stig Anderson wasn’t the ‘loyal’ ‘trustable’ 5th member -Agnetha, Bijorn & Benny all sued him for an undisclosed amount . Interesting Frida didn’t partake .
It was not Benny, Bjorn and Agnetha collectively vs. Stig. They each hired their own counsel and filed in Stockholm district court. This is all public information.
The 3 of them were going after back royalties, which they thought were due to them. Frida did not go after any back royalties as is widely reported.
The three individual cases (Benny, Bjorn and Agnetha) never made it to court. It was settled out of court between all parties involved.
No guilt was found by Stig.
The initial dispute details along with the settlement details remain private. Sealed.
What has been "leaked" by others familiar with the case, is Benny, Bjorn and Agnetha received a small fraction of what they initially sought.
None of the ABBA members have brought up the royalties dispute. It seems to be water under the bridge. A dark period. And they all moved on like mature people do.
Why did Frida not participate and hire her own counsel like the other three did?
Don't know other than Stig and his family adored Frida. Everyone adored Frida.

Frida was always the favorite of Stig and Stig's family. He once was asked who is favorite of the core four was and he said 'Frida' and he said why.
Paraphrasing:
- Frida does not talk bad about anybody. reliable. loyal. etc...
All four members are all worth multiple 100's of millions of dollars. That all is because of what Stig started. Frida never forgets who paved the road for Swedish popular music to get heard around the world.
Why upset with Stig.
None of us know the details of the royalties dispute. Only that the cases never made it to court because the cases found no fault by Stig.
All we know is Polygram settled with Benny, Bjorn and Agnetha for a fraction of what they claimed was owned to them.
Stig still had all his money he got by selling Polar Music to Polygram. He took some of that money and founded The Polar Prize!
