Join me on Day 3 of my Esk8 Journey! Today I was feeling really confident so I cranked it up to mode 2. It was all about getting comfortable keeping up with traffic and mastering control over the board. This was alot of fun so sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!

On the other hand, I’m suppressing my rage and anger half the time when commuting 😅😅. I gotta suppress the urge to be a NYer and yell at people like “ayeeeee you blind on something jackass” or “this guyyy, this mf guyyyy gtfo I’d you can’t drive my guy….” . CZcams has been good for me in that I’m starting to cuss less 😂.
Don’t worry, esk8 content is def on its way! I just finished Ep3 in the series and it’ll be out 7/28 because i still have to edit it. However, I have a fun scooter video planned for next week that im pretty sure everyone is going to love 👀

@eyebahnrides it is my pleasure brotha. lol, I've always wondered about that. I've heard you say that you were born there, but then I never hear the New Yorker from ya. But I get it... CZcams has definitely calmed my tongue and mouth too. When having to do this it really makes you aware of how you talk and say things. It's like having a kid, no naughty words..... lol. I'm stoked about part three and the scooter video coming up.

I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to that " surfing the streets feeling" that I'm searching for. LOL, I don't plan on spilling for the views. I actually took my first fall the other day and smashed up my helmet and hip really hard but the cameras were off. I'll probably just talk about it but won't show it lol. No one wants to see blood!

Bro I appreciate you so much that’s my old childhood neighborhood seeing it I used to skateboard around that neighborhood when I was kid very often and I had so much fun doing it now I see you ESK8’in around the same area and its awesome I got some nostalgia from watching this now I got my own ESK8 I want to go back to my old childhood neighborhood someday again and do this also ❤️⚡️🛹👍🏻

I get that feeling do nostalgia when I’m riding through Astoria and Astoria park. I literally learned how to skate, rollerblade, ride my bike, drive a car, and ride a small motorcycle in those neighborhoods 🥲. I hope you can ride in this neighborhood again. They’ve down a great job updating the roads for us PEV and bike users but it’s terrible for parking 😂.
How long has it been since you’ve been in queens?
@@eyebahnrides bro I haven’t been living in NYC queens for more than 15 years but I always go back to visit family there At least once a year I would love to ESK8 from woodside to maybe Main Street flushing but wondering if it can survive a round trip on one charge
@@Sean-vf7qr got it. It's nice that you get to visit atleast once a year tho. With the infrastructure now, I think it's possible to comfortably ride to Flushing from Woodside/Sunnyside and you can even charge at the mall in flushing while enjoying some buns/ bubble tea. The only thing is, the river between the stadium/ flushing still smells like sewage and the roads in flushing are pretty bad and always stupidly congested. In the last year, they completely changed the flow of traffic around Main St so it's been absolute chaos
@@eyebahnrides bro LIC looks just like manhattan now I remember looking at the skyline from 33rd st Rawson St Station it was beautiful now it’s all covered from the apartment buildings my board takes about over 4 hours to get a full charge but I hear you I can always charge it while I eat something at the mall but knowing me I will want to explore the mall and I couldn’t if I have my ESK8 w me 😂 bro it would be sick to go riding w you someday in Woodside but in flushing is too congested with the people and the traffic 😂

Queens is a surprisingly PEV friendly borough apart from Jamaica and south queens down to JFK. So peaceful and safe to ride on the streets unlike the part of Bronx I live in and uptown manhattan.
I definitely think you’ll be able to safely commute on that board eventually thanks to the great bike infrastructure but will have to start out by taking the queensboro bridge and then leveling up to the long routes.

The problem is once you leave this little nook, it’s back to 💩 roads and tons of people parking in the bike lanes.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be ready to commute until August. This emotional ass weather we’ve been having has really been messing with my ability to practice 😅. At this moment, it’s like “oh sht the sun is out… film while you can…”

Thanks for watching the video and I’m glad y’all are seeing an improvement in my skill and comfort lol. Congrats on the new board, I’m so excited for you to experience it 👊🏼. Just take your time and work on getting comfortable with the board. The best advice I got was getting comfortable standing on the board and then learning to ride the board by pushing off on it. You can eventually use the throttle but just get used to the sensation of pushing off and riding. If you have a park near by, put on some pads and practice “running off and falling”. Learning to fall and learning to let the pads take the grunt of the fall helped me feel relaxed on the board. Final advice is, don’t exceed your running speed while getting used to it lol. You can always bail and run it off! Any questions, feel free to ask on here 🫡

ur not getting wobbles because u are doing it smart. little by little, gradually getting used to the feeling under ur feet along with heel toe, heel toe. lots of beginners ONLY focus on going fast in a straight line without practicing. keep up the carving and understand the machine under your feet 100%. once u make the board your b*tch, u can do whatever speeds u want 🤘🏼🤘🏼 keep it up ✔️
I appreciate that coming from a pro! I'm pretty methodical about the way I learn something so things generally take a bit longer because of my conservative approach. Maybe if we had perfectly paved open roads and dope aqueducts like they do in Cali, the whole straight line thing would work but we're constantly ducking and weaving here in NYC. Thanks for the advice man. I'm going to keep practicing and slowly push the envelope at each session. I really can't wait to get to the point that the board feels like an extension of my body and I can get to do those crazy speeds and carves yall do all over the city.

I ordered two boards, as I said before the Tynee Mini 3 (blew a motor, waiting for it to come from china)... But also I got the MBoards endurance! Came in yesterday and I'm so excited to take it out for the first time :) The forces of stopping and accelerating are so different than a scooter, and turning feels odd. But we will definitely get this down soon hopefully!
Congrats on the second board 😂! I also hope they send those motors soon. I’m waiting for tires from china because I ordered could wheel rovers for my board and it’s been almost a month and they still haven’t shipped yet 😅. Everything thing about the board felt so foreign to me in the beginning (especially with thousands of miles on scooters) lol. Someone on IG messaged me and was like “stop being a little b*tch and just skate in the street” in response to my first video. I just ignored it because I don’t regret taking the time to get to know the acceleration/ braking power of the board and taking my time learning to turn for 90 min on day 1 because I felt much more comfortable in this video!
I have faith in our ability to learn this! Let me know how your endurance feels.
Btw, I just filmed episode 3 and it should be out on the 28th! It’s starting to get really fun lol 😂
@@eyebahnrides Yah I’d rather not crash, tomorrow I’m taking it to a paved trail to see how I do. I’ll keep you updated and comment on your episode 3:) I rode the endurance today on a gravel trail and it was really nice compared to the Tynee with Hydro wheels! I got 2 so my wife could ride with me. Also my Talaria XXX got cancelled from China so I got those two instead! Maybe I’ll post a video so you can see my area and riding.

I def did my research and the Wowgo AT2+ was the best balance of price, performance, and quality. I looked into Evolve Hadean Carbon, Backfire Zealot X, ownboard zeus forged carbon pro and even looked at high end Lacroix boards. But at the end of the day I opted out of any hyper board because I literally just want to chill and carve on it. Also, I just got the AT version because I planned to buy the cloud wheel Rover110s (they’re supposed to have better grip than the standard PU cloud wheel option that comes with the board). I preordered the Rovers last month and I’m just waiting for them to ship out. I love the 7inch pneumatics since they’re so comfy and grippy, but I’m worried about getting a flat on the commutes.

And TY for the info on the esk8's and the wheels. I'm not too concerned about flats or maximum grip as I would never use it for commuting, but I completely understand your concern. Maybe bring a spare and keep the wrench in the backpack? Anyway, I normally enjoy the research portion of buying things as much, if not sometimes more, than the actual purchase. But in this case, I totally trust your judgement. The logically side of me says to hold off and learn more about them, but I'm damn tempted to order one tomorrow! 🤪 The largest CT state park beach is next to me and this thing would be perfect for leisurely cruising around on the miles of trails and paths along the beaches... I mean what better place to practice cracking your head open than in front of a bunch of hot women walking around in bikinis?!?! 🤣

I approach the first couple of "practice sessions" pretty methodically because I want to have a decent foundation. But now, I'm just trying to ride and have fun with it. Though I do still plan to do skill drills in the park just to have better control over the board so that it feels more like second nature.

On the learning curves, I am guessing you were a skate rider before jumping on to an e-skate, correct? That's an important point. Hope nobody is assuming everybody knows how to ride a skate. Some of us are losers, like me.

all good man. It's been a very long time since I've been on a skateboard and I don't have much background in board style sports lol. My only real experience recently have been on EUCs, Ebikes, and Escooters
bend your knees a little bit, less turning frontal and more sideways turn your head more than your body it should get easier
