- Jehovah's Witness elders meet with a young female that knows TTATT (the Truth About The Truth) and is trying to get back into the JWs for family reasons. This secretly recorded reinstatement hearing with three JW Elders also includes them disagreeing and deliberating after she is dismissed from the backroom and then when they call her back in.

The Four people in the room:
1. Elder 1 has a non-American accent, and is the oldest of the three.
2. Elder 2 with deep voice. He is apparently the chairman since he opens the meeting and is the primary person speaking to the sister.
3. Elder 3 has a slight southern accent and says very little during the meeting with the sister.
4. The JW seeking reinstatement back into the Watchtower Organization is a young lady who has been disfellowshipped twice. She has learned The Truth About The Truth and is recently free of the mind control. She wants to have a relationship with family members that now are required to shun her. She is coming back primarily for them.

Additional Thoughts:
This is the only recording of JW elders deliberating a reinstatement that I know of on the internet. It is quite telling in a number of ways (to me) but I will leave that for you the viewer to decide for yourself. I personally sat in on at least a dozen of these hearings during the time I was an elder and I can attest to the fact that this is a pretty typical representation of how these meetings unfold.

The most enlightening thing to me was the ***absence of a prayer***. I never once heard them address their 'high priest' or their god, as one of them had suggested that they do. Thanks so much for sharing this Eric!
You're welcome Jina! This video was a labor of love and the product of months of work believe it or not. But the more we peer behind the curtain of the secretive Watchtower and the elders that do their bidding the more we see that they are not guided by anything but their own self-interest.
Interestingly they used her name only when they talk to her not in their private conversation. They addressed her as "she", impersonally, without love or warm emotion. When I was elder I intermingled expressions "brother" and "accused" when I wrote a report to Branch Office.
The time is a factor. Many older elders speak it openly even with indignation "It's to early to reinstate!!"
I had tears streaming down my cheeks and feeling heartbroken for this poor sister who was being abused and hit from all sides. There was NO EMPATHY, no understanding, no humanity, just judgementalism. No matter what she did it wasn't good enough, there were spies catching and twisting the words they heard. Who can live like this? You have your church family in many places you go hoping to have something to report to the elders to shame you.

Where in the Bible does it ever speak about a judicial committee of 3 elders are to judge their brothers or sisters in a secrete meeting and that it's for them to decide . Why not leave it for Jesus to judge in His due time ?
The Organization itself should be brought up on violating human and civil rights.

this has gone beyond , keeping the congregation clean, she's depressed and feeling the abandonment. elder no. 1 wants her to prove herself more? that can break the camels back next the elder is blood guilty for taking things to far. that is abuse of power. elder no 3 is more fair. so three elders can't come to an agreement. where's the holy spirit? that elder is lacking, love, warmth, empathy, nothing Christlike at all. she may end up suicidal out there she's depressed already. so much for welcoming the prodigal son back. with open arms. didn't Jesus say forgive your brother 77 times. what more time? can't take life for granted .

J Nea G -your own governing body of imperfect men said the reason you use the name Jahovah is NOT because it is the most accurate translation or pronunciation but because it is the most widely recognized by the English language!!! J Nea G --So you go around knocking on people's doors and claim their Bible is inaccurate because the name of God was replaced with Lord when you go ahead and replace the whole Word of God AND use an entirely DIFFERENT NAME. No mercy, compassion found here. They are so suspect of this sister, it's truly sad to regard another human being with the high degree of suspicion and a complete lack of trust or warmth.

Yet they claim Jehovah gives them the guidance to make a decision. . If that's the case why are they giving personal opinions and why does everyone have different opinions if Jehovah works through them! This is a religion of control and bondage!
They're not talking about applying biblical principles. They're making decisions based on what they feel. As a disfellowshipped person, I KNOW I will never grovel to be accepted back as a JW. If I even remotely thought it was a fair process, I ma have never left. Nothing is fair in the JWs. Two people...same congregation...same "sin"... one person gets disfellowshipped, one person does not. That's part of the truth about the "Truth".
I was disfellowshipped because I would not be in total subjection to my non-believing husband...I had to work and go to school, to make sure we had enough money coming in to support our home and family of 8 children while my husand did work he was also having affairs, which the elder was dismissing.I soon there after decided to divorce my husband, which is in opposition to what they teach.He was physically violent and verbally abusive..things these elders did not see.Nobody ever came to my house and would encourage us as a married coupe nor did they ever come to my home to witness to my husband in an effort to bring him into the flock...They failed to do what they preach they are to do...I was NOTHING to them...My children were nothing to them..I believe and have all my faith in Jesus and Jehovah and nobody will ever take that away from me.I am grateful for what I have learned through the HOLY SCRIPTURES and that's because I truly believe Jehovah God and Jesus truly want people to be faithful and true to oneGOD JEHOVAH and Jesus his son who will be KING over humankind...He is lord and savior...Not any man on earth...NONE can compare ...they shouldn't even try

Wow, until now I was not aware that when elders become appointed, they are gifted the ability to read and know what's in a person's heart. Thank goodness for these blessed Shepards of the flock! Jesus would have been wise to take these brothers fine example and not rush to the conclusion that a person is truly repentant before granting them forgiveness.. Jesus should have been prudent and given the sinners minimum 3-6 months to see what truly is in their heart
I’m just trying to make sure I’m understanding exactly what u are saying. Do u mean that Jesus should have done things differently? And waited instead of the times He looked within their hearts (bc He was about to, whereas the one of the elders even acknowledged that they can’t read hearts ). Shocking. Elder 1 REALLY hard hearted. To be that suspicious of people he must have a lot of blackness in his own heart. I was really concerned about her depression...depression can really interfere with relationships - and that includes a spiritual relationship. It's exactly in circumstances like this that people commit suicide. Terrible. x
yes good point. elder no. 1 has a lot if blackness he has got serious ISSUES that he fails to look at because he's to busy picking on n bulling the more ' vunerable' putting his own insecurities and suspicions on the woman repenting.
severe abuse of power. bullying the victim to the point where she is spiritually diminished. the amount of conflicting views amongst these elders is shockingly appalling. no holy spirit is evident. no Christlike actions given.
they interrogate and disrespect. how dare they act judge and jury. god and Christ are clearly out the window. and yes elder one is punishingly hard so much for being. lowly at heart, mind, clothed with love, not judgental, kind, forgiving, up building, etc the way the scripture's say these men must be...
Jesus will ask for the blood back from each of these victims that suffer at their lack of mercy. if they think they are right to judge so mercilessly than the bible shows god will do the same judgement back!!!
I just hope that lovely lady has contact with all the ex jw supporting websites, Facebook and CZcams channels for encouragement, support and some social involvement in the groups.

Elder 1 said to the sister: Time is not an issue…your relationship with Jehovah is what matters. Isn't her relationship with him a personal one. Not every witness has a strong relationship and if so it can also weaken. I am happy that she got what she wanted.
I experienced the same. Even I begged the elders every month for any help, any spiritual support, they refused to have any discussion with a DF person. Total ignoration of Jacob 5:14,15. No matter how they proclaim in WT and to the rank&file how laving shepherd they are, in reality they are true pharasees.
Besides there is not any biblical support that Jesus would give elders an authority to judge if any is honest or dishonest. They are simply they to confirm if the person stopped with the sin and express regret and does not want to continue in the sin. They should take such sinner back immediately. there are abundance of verses supporting that. Prodigal son etc.. forgive 77x time etc... she done in 2nd time? so what? what would they do if she would have done in 70th time? IS it it even possible to sin so many time in JWorg? surely not. What a cult. Happy to awaken from it.

I'm 20 and I get disfellowship 4 months ago my metting with them to get back was really back , as soon as I sat down they told me they didt see a reason to call the 3rd eldest because I wast going to be reinstated, when I ask why they said me spelling my case had already made them meet twice for me so they weren't going to do it again and that maybe it could be a year before they even though about it , I didt get hear , I didt get bible texts nothing it was jus2 elders trying to defend themselves

I'm curious as to what these nebulas blessings from Jehovah actually consist of. The term "blessings" is constantly used or misused as that proverbial carrot on a stick, the GB down to the Elders and even publishers throw out to motivate a person to do something or not do something. But what are they and how does a person know if he or she is actually receiving the promised blessings? Is it domestic tranquility, a raise in your paycheck, an absence of health problems etc. when compared to the worldly mobs of non-JWs? Thanks in advance for your answers. How is the Organization not been sued 1000th times? Simple law suits for emotional stress, mental problems or even physical harm could be used in sueing them. Granted they legally are able too cover there asses most of the time saying "It was there choice" "We forced nothing on them!!" But there is also a lot of things they can't cover themselves on. Tarnishing of reputation? The only reason I can think of is that the society has become too big and strong and they probably have 1000th lawyers that will gladly gather material and throw it at a judge. A Judge that probably does not realize how massive this problem is.
The WT legal team has stitched up nearly all loopholes and recourse that ones can attempt to recoup legally from their abuses of these people's human rights. One notable example is in 1985 when they altered the second baptismal question asked of those about to be baptized, in effect having them enter into a verbal contract with the WT Society..
Is it legal for them to do this? Yes.
Is it morally right or ethical? Most would say no.

I think that it is very likely and inevitable in fact. Certain countries are already trying to pass laws against the Witnesses practice of flouting the United Nations human rights freedoms, one of which is the right to worship (or not worship) as a person sees fit without coercion.

If you only get DFd for unrepentance like they profess, surely showing repentance is the only way to get back in?? you cant have it both ways. Also if they did let her back in and she was being 'dishonest' or whatever they are frightened of, its not like THEY would get in trouble is it? Its no skin off their nose. Or would they get penalised in some way? No. They are following company guidelines rather than acting from the heart and showing compassion. Its disgusting. How can she do more than she is already doing? Its sickening.
Why are these men permitted to perform roles in which they have absolutely no training? Has anyone of them provided resources for this young lady or others like her to assist in the mental or emotional destruction that shunning causes. This very destruction is a result of man going ahead of God. God created us with an unbreakable bond. Even science shows that we need one another to survive. But these untrained men, have decided that their poor understanding of the scriptures is justified. I'm appalled!
Wow this is so unsettling.. I have my reinstatement meeting tonight! Obviously the only reason is to speak to my family again. It’s been 8 months and I “woke up” during that time period. Hopefully they let me come back so that I never have to step foot in a KH again! I think I’ll try and record it to see what that say about me. Whoever that sister is I hope she’s doing well now..

Cont- I wanted to rush into the star chamber knock the three stooges to the ground and rescue this hurting mother. If I could have held her and reassured her how much she was loved by God I would have traveled the 6,000 miles to do so. Hopefully she can move to real Christians and find love and acceptance, with understanding and support. I pray for her and her family that they might find peace that passeth understanding. Christ has paid the price for any sin she may have committed.

Why are they talking about pioneering?! That has nothing to do with being disfellowshipped, you can’t go out in service, they won’t even let you have your camera on during Zoom meetings, they don’t want to see a disfellowshipped person 🤯😡

The elder says "Ill go along with you brothers decision." And he makes another referance to "going along" with others decisions.
What the Hell happened to the Holy Spirit moving them to a decision? The elder is actually showing that he voted according to the other 2 elders choice, that was against his own feeling of whats right.
I knew elders in the 70s, the old school ones. They told me of the workings in judicial decisions.
One told me that if the other 2 decide one way that he goes with them no matter what because "When 2 agree that shows what the Holy Spirit decides!"
Funny thing this elder appealed when he was disfellowshipped. A strange thing is the appeal flipped the original decision and he wasnt dissed afterall!
The Holy Spirit makes bad calls according to WBTS! Sometimes you just have to "Appeal" the Holy Spirits decision.
A lot of how, when and if one is reinstated depends on if the elders actually like you or not. The "verdict" is based purely on their personal opinions, beliefs and preferences. Like someone else already pointed out, there was not even a prayer before they started their deliberations. I'm sure the "Governing Body" doesn't pray either. They probably just sit there and say "what are we going to have them believe this month?". Abhorrent!
She needs more time this is her. Second offense. Does anyone remember when Peter asked Jesus how many times was he to forgive his brother up to seven times? Jesus said not up to 7 but 77 times.
Where does the bible say that one has to go through a procedure like this to have their sins forgiven?

I can’t believe I hear the elder using Jesus as an example with the man on the cross. Very good. He may have hope to leave this cult one day.

For how many years or months did Jesus instruct the apostles not to have any dealings with Peter after his third offense of denying him? I cant seem to find that in my bible. Christ may have had a few good qualities, but he'd have made a lousy JW elder. He said he preferred mercy rather than a sacrifice? Ridiculous!
Elders are wise to demand their pound of flesh in order to grant forgiveness to anyone that dares to break the Watchtower's rules

I was an elder sitting in judgment of others. I can honestly say that we had committee meetings at least once a day and often times more. I was appointed elder at 21 years of age and had no business with a lack of experience sitting in judgment of others. Usually the dominant elder swayed the direction of the judicial meeting and influenced the decision of the others. I saw a lack of the Holy Spirit upon committee meetings.
It wasn't recorded her for whatever reason and it is wrong that they obviously did not start out with asking JEHOVAH for HIS GUIDANCE..Secondly, They did not give just reason WHY he felt she needed more time..Did she not show through her sincerity to not want to continue through her behaviours.These men are acting like judge and jury without Jehovah's blessing.and guidance.I cannot see why she should be going to these men of the earth for their acceptance her , when its JEHOVAH AND JESUS who know whats in her heart and her suffering.
no one has the right to say you're not ok for God. that's humiliating. Jesus said come. Matthew 11. I've learned God is Grace and mercy. he also said don't judge or you will be judged. if you are sorry for something and try to be better that's what matters. God knows a person's heart, not me.
disfellowshipping is biblical but the way it is handled in the watchtower is not all the way

Got disfellowshipped walked out the door that night and never went back, thank goodness I never had family in this abusive nonsense lost a few friends. But I just didn’t care anymore.

Beth Dawson Good advice from Katie. It also depends upon the particular makeup of the elders assigned to your case and how the body views the subject. Then the vibe they radiate will trickle into how the publishers treat you.
JWStruggle i dont know if this still used,but as a un-baptized be pronounced as 'bad company' at a service meeting... probably a rule of old, dreamed up by a member of the 'humble goverment servant's alzheimer fever dream..... they cant shun you, but start slowly, find some kind of 'place' outside jw, like friends from school, work og something else beside jw. DONT quit, based on your first sexual encounter. It was important to you, probably not for her....

It was heart warming to see how the brother had mercy. This was the teaching Jesus had. Mercy before Law. I was glad to see that she found a way back to her family.

I know a JW who left her husband & children because she was bored however that didn't warrant being disfellowshiped, but smoking did the trick. Weird values!
Why would they say work on her relationship with Jehovah. And may Jehovah bless you? I mean, if that’s the case why disfellowship at all. I’ve heard other elders say god doesn’t hear a df persons prayers! JWs thinking is just so skewed. So glad I’m out of this mind game Borg.
