Everyone loves to talk vocals with Arch Enemy, but their guitars are written and performed SO incredibly well. They're easily my favorite part of the band.
Arch Enemy is so underrated. Been a fan since I was a teenager. They've actually had 3 vocalist. One man and two women, the singer you're watching is their 3rd obviously. AE fans all have a favorite and it usually gets into a heated argument lol
Can't stand people who bother arguing between vocalists. Alissa and angles are both amazing but different, with ETF it was a problem, Hollywood undead, and nightwish.. like damn just enjoy the music if you don't like the new singer, stop listening
Both female vocalists are great but I still think best albums they made were with Johan. Burning Bridges is still one of my favourite metal albums after 20 years.

In my opinion, Angela and Alissa are equally good with Arch Enemy. I think Alissa is the more technically skilled vocalist, in terms of breath control, pronunciation, and of course her singing voice, and Angela is better at power and volume. I happen to find Alissa's lyrics much more interesting, because Angela usually just wrote songs about anarchy and overthrowing authority, while Alissa writes about things like human ignorance and knowledge, revenge, heartbreak, and animal rights. Her lyrics always tell some kind of story, whereas Angela and Michael's lyrics are rarely that specific. But if you like Angela's voice, that's okay. All the people who complain about Angela and seem to think she's God or whatever always neglect to mention that Angela was the one who picked Alissa to replace her, and it was probably the best thing that possibly could have happened.
Angela Gossow is a Metal Goddess and will never be outdone by anyone
Arch Enemy has had female death metal vocals for nearly 20y now. They're one if not THE pioneers. Props to Angela for leading the way and doing it in STYLE!

No shit? I did not know that! Damn. I went to the meet and greet when they came to Atlanta, met the band, who were super cool, and damn nice. I’d swear I saw Angela lurking. It likely was her! I am an OLD METALHEAD, and rarely bother with meet and greets. It is worth the effort for this band.
Alissa is the business - her voice literally sends shivers down my spine!

Arch Enemy is great! I really like Alissa's harsh vocals and she has a really pretty clean voice as well. I'm not well versed in the eras featuring their previous singers but I definitely like what I've heard since Alissa joined.
The sound of those guitars give me the chills.

Cool reaction guys! The cool thing is that the band has just as much energy live, if not more. They almost hold back on the recorded stuff to make the live shows seem epic. Checkout Wacken 2018.

I legit used this song one day when my neighbors were blasting Christmas music a few weeks ago. (It's July) two minutes in I turned it off and their music was gone.
I always do that, as I'm from Brazil, my neighbors are always listening to horrible music like the funk carioca that is completely different from American funk. So I always put on Metal for them to hear lol

Alissa was a stand in for Nightwish. This was during their Denver concert. It was Alissa and Elize Red, they where the backing singers of Kamalot. They did their best to make the show go on. Look up " Nightwish Denver debacle . To read the details. There is a CZcams video of it as well. Just a long winded way of saying she can sing (clean) as well.

Loved that you guys love this song, it's such a good one. I highly HIGHLY recommend their song Nemesis with their previous singer Angela Gossow (who turned the reigns over to Alissa a few albums ago). It's the song that got me into Arch Enemy and it has the same powerful type of message and you'll get a chance to hear another of the most powerful female metal vocalists ever.

Alissa White Glutz is the 3rd vocalist of the band, she succeded Angela Gossow who wanted to pursue other things and wanted to spent more time with her family but she is still in the band tho as their business manager....she recommended Alissa to take over her...the first vocalist was Johan Liiva....The reason why i suggested for y'all to react to Arch Enemy Angela Gossow era because she is considered to be the pioneer of female death growler & false chord screamer that pave the way for other female vocalist to enter in this genre......and yeah my non visual reaction was the same back den as everyone now, shocked, amazed, fell in love with this new fresh addition to metal when i bought her debut album Wages of Sin with Arch Enemy 2001 ......This the live version of Enemy Within which i suggested m.czcams.com/video/3FhefGPpb4Q/video.html but if u wanna check their studio version be my guest.....

A huge fan here and I've seen the band several times. It's an exhilarating experience and they're all masters of their instruments. Also a Patreon of Alissa's. She's been a huge influence on my becoming vegan due to health reasons and I'm pumping iron as well. She's awesome AF!! That's all her voice and the same goes for Tatiana in Jinger they're both self trained and they don't hurt their voices at all due to proper techniques. Great review man!

Another band I never got super into but have been around this band due to friends. Always heard great things from and about Arch Enemy. Awesome female lead for sure.
seeing this reminds me of Otep and their song Confrontation. Both about rising up and taking over, stick it to the man kinda vibe. You should definitely check that one out.

You should check out some old school Clawfinger...they should be one of the first bands to mix rap/hip hop and metal....way back in the early 90's
If you like Alissa you should DEFINITELY check out her material with her old band, The Agonist, AND their more recent material with vocalist Vicky Psarakis. "Panophobia" and "Thank You Pain" show off Alissa's ability to switch between growls and clear vocals, unlike the Arch Enemy all-growls formula (which I personally dislike).
Vicky really shines with "Your Victim, My Witness" and their latest tracks including "In Vertigo".

You should react to Arch Enemy - The Eagle Flies Alone
Unfortunately I cannot pay you through patreon, but I do have to recommend an amazing Female lead band for you. Alissa was the lead vocalist before she joined Arch Enemy, now the lead singer is Vicky Psarakis. The band is called The Agonist and a song you must hear is "In Vertigo". Vicky has some amazing growls just like Alissa and at the end of this song she just gets DEEP. It is AMAZING. Seriously consider it because your jaw might drop.
Other female lead growler bands who I enjoy are: Butcher Babies, Infected Rain, Straight Line Stitch (Not sure if they are still together and playing but their music is phenomenal, especially their song "Black Veil")

Alissa (the vocalist) has a song with Babymetal. Distortion, is a great song. And the first vocalist, Angela Gossow, was also bursting, another great female guttural voice.
