Brian Warner is one of the most intelligent people I've ever seen, he was hated without anyone ever even knowing his depth. He naturally ran with it. Bravo.
Oh boy did this age well given what we know about him now.
And plenty of people knew his 'depth' throughout his entire career.
React to Marilyn Manson interviews. He absolutely owns people and is very smart
Man there is so many lol. One of my favorites when he was on politically incorrect and Mrs. Brady (Florence Henderson), of all people backs him up lol
@@seasonsoftheabyss918 That was epic hahaha
Yea we heard that he shuts people down
The opposite of Marilyn Manson is Ozzy Osbourne 😂
@@seasonsoftheabyss918 omg I love it man she was crushing on him lol Manson is a fucking idol
When I was a kid my mom hated Marilyn Manson and wanted to take his music away from me. I used to write poems so I wrote out a song of his and told her I wrote it. She loved it so much she cried and said it was beautiful. Shortly after I told her it wasn't mine but his and I did it to show her how great his music was. She agreed she was being close minded and apologized. She told me I could keep my music and dress how I want :)
Which song?
In high school I was the only goth kid rejected by the other kids for dressing and liking marilyn. We had an assignment to read a poem in class. I chose "the last day on earth" but omitted the author as Marilyn until the end. The while class loved it. A kid that gave me so much shit for being goth wanted to hear the song and know more.
@@maryagee7759 it was 'Man that you Fear'. I re wrote it only to One that you Fear' for her reading of it :)
That's funny I think every parent hated marylin manson. My parents thought his music was good but they didn't like him they thought he was a freak.
I did the same thing but for the kids and teachers I went to school with I ended up getting a lot of them to start listening to him especial my music teacher I told here I wrote this song she loved it then I said this is actually marilyn manson she freaked but said it was amazing I told her just listen to his lyrics she went from hating him to becoming a fan
Eminem got Manson out at one of his live shows. And Manson came out when the bit Eminem says "they blame it on Marylin"
Marilyn Manson and his voice 🔥
Their first three albums are epic. Reflecting God and Tourniquet are a must to react to. Check out some of his interviews, he shuts some of those journalists down with his intelligence!
Agreed. The first three are some of the best metal out there. Then... Mechanical Animals. Just my opinion of course.
Another epic (sadly underappreciated) track on this album "Dried up, Tied and Dead to the World" and Manson showed up on a remix of "The Way I am" (remixed by Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails)!
It is funny when journalists interview a man who makes millions with this art and the interviewer always assumes the artist is the moron, go figure.
@@gringrin3979 ur right bro...btw ur reaction will be out in the next few days
Trash Talkers sweet, thanks dude 🙏🏻
You should watch Marilyn's interview video compilation. He is a very smart and well spoken person.
The video for “tainted love” is a good one.
The cast of “not another teen movie” and the Lincoln with hydraulics. Grills. Hot tubs.
Tainted love and sweet dreams
Joseph Dolman - AND “Down In The Park”! MM, NIN and others owe a debt to Gary Numan
That song was the start of Manson turning dogshit imo. Cringe gothic-gangster with grills and suits and shit, eugh.
Thank Trent Reznor for making Marilyn Manson what he is. He signed Marilyn to his record label in the mid 90’s. Other good Manson songs are Dope Show, Tourniquet. Sweet Dreams.Need to react to NIN.
Don't forget Al Jourgensen, from which he borrowed some of the asthetic
yes, you need to react to NIN. in fact, react to "Gave up" official vid by NIN, it features marilyn manson on guitar
Start with head like a hole. That was NIN’s first big song
Great songs but obvious choices. Need to react to Mechanical Animals, Great Big White World and one of the creepiest ones for me personally especially after reading The Long Hard Road Out of Hell, Kinderfeld.
I like how people pretend that Manson wouldn't be where he is without Trent. Even though Manson is miles above him in both singing talent and song writing talent. Manson has the lyrical content and song writing abilities that would have made him popular regardless of Trent. Getting tired of that delusion.
This video was in the mid 90s, Manson was wearing grilles before they were a thing. All of the original band members (and a few later) would take stage names that combined the first name of a famous model, and the last name of an infamous serial killer.
Manson does play guitar, I'm sure he uses it to write but I don't think he plays much on albums. If you look up the Nine Inch Nails video for Gave Up, you can see Manson playing guitar and doing backup vocals, he's the long haired one with a lip ring. For another early, and pre-makeup, look at him, and another banger, check out their song Lunch Box.
Wow, I’ve been a fan of both bands for well over 20 years and I never knew that. Just watched the video, very cool! Ya learn something new every day!!
I actually read Manson's biography and he said he doesn't really know how to play guitar - the lead singer of Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor, just called him and asked if he'd play guitar on that video. When Manson replied "I don't play guitar" Trent answered, "Just do it, it will look cool" and it seems like he was right :D
Marilyn Manson was at the height of his popularity and contraversy when I was in high school. His music and lyrics really speak to the angst and rebellious tendencies most of us feel in our teens. On top of that, if you actually look past the shocking imagery and dig into the meaning of his songs, he discusses some very interesting topics in a poetic way. Songs like "The Reflecting God", "Man That You Fear", or "Tourniquet".
10:25. The way the band played this album is unreal. There were a lot of effects, but the band was so insane.
The concerts were a fucking experience. I got to go way back when I was in HS, and it was off the walls energy when MM was on stage. The showmanship was was on par with lyricism.
Great reaction! I saw him a while back, he puts on an insane show. The 2 “judges” in long black robes, or dancers in this video and then Manson in the white get up growing is exactly what he did on stage that night. He must’ve been elevated at least 20 feet in the air and he acted like a puppet, throwing himself front, back, side to side while singing this song spot on - it was insanely entertaining and mind blowingly talented.
"Ouch. It won't reach my mouth. If I could do it myself, I'd probably never leave the house!"
-Bloodhound Gang
Yummy down on this is such a good song
marilyn manson is a great man, he still is right about his sight of world and will be for a real long time, he infulienced people with the way of seeing reality.
the respect i have for this man(m.m.) is unspeakable, i cant find a word could describe it.
He knows how to bring in a crowd and always does something live that everyone will talk about, he used to cut himself on stage during live performances. Last time I saw him he would throw his mike across the stage after each song just to make his crew go chase it down for him!!! Epic
Way to dodge the question Smokey. lol. A lot of your questions get answered in Marilyn Manson's biography 'Long Hard Road Out of Hell' (the song with the same title is pretty awesome). If you want to see more in the same vein, check out Nine Inch Nails 'Closer'.
Otherwise, please, please, please react to Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars! ;)
This song is a classic!! You should do In This Moment "the in between" next
The female Marilyn Manson
@Mandy Pannell or some real old school 'daddy's fallen angel'
yeah, In This Moment is a must
Wassap fellas, great one thank you. Twiggy Ramirez wrote the music, Manson wrote the lyrics. This is one of those pieces of music that just came together brilliantly. I remember back when I was at church with my mom and the congregation and the broader church community as a whole were boycotting Marilyn Manson’s concert here in Houston. I never understood their fear. At a young age I felt that Marilyn Manson’s music was very reactive and very provocative. The band is a reflection, dissection and representation of the deep insides of society and then even deeper to an individual. The people of whom I saw becoming the most outraged were usually the people that I sensed a profound conflict within their most inner self, it wasn’t the music or the band, it was something inside that they wanted to ignore, very unhealthy. Peace🙃
What's odd was My youth group started off trying to go against Manson, But then the youth pastor sat the entire church down and read out the lyrics and we had a monster discussion about the music. The adults agreed that the lyrics were great, but that his image and the fear he causes in people is what they couldn't understand. It was quite something to have this song blared over the church loudspeakers!!!
Churchloudspeakerz hahah
In an interview when someone asked him about the rib operation he said "if I did I would be backstage right now" and "I looked into the surgery but it was too expensive". He was ordained as a priest of the Church of Satan but it is only an honorary title. When I think of a music artist actually exemplifying their persona through their art, MM is truly one of the greatest at it. If you want to see Manson play an instrument check out Nine Inch Nails video of "Gave Up" (filmed in the infamous Sharon Tate house). The band took their names by pairing iconic celebrities and serial killers to illustrate the fact that both extremes receive the same level of attention in the media. He has a degree in journalism and creative writing. He is extremely intelligent and it catches people off guard when they interview him. Fun fact: he actually grew up with a Catholic School education, which is where he learned all about the bands the church did not want children listening to.
The Bass Player is named Twiggy Ramirez as every member of The OG line up had a Model/Killer stage name
Twiggy the Model and Like Smokey, Robert Ramirez
One last request lol, NIN- Somewhat Damaged. You have to start opening up the NIN catalog
Even better...the live version
@@ToolFist598 or maybe "something i can never have" live
I love how you guys are always willing to admit your limitations of knowledge, and that you divert to us when you know that you are entering uncharted territory for yourselves. Much love boys.
Please give " In this moment " give a listen to
The inbetween and
Whore to start....almost a manson lady gaga blend. Beautiful stuff...
I love Big Bad Wolf the most, I cant understand how In This Moment is not a bigger deal...
Manson in a sense is something similar to Tool, your first listen mainly is for shock value (on mansons behalf) second listen is for dissecting lyrics and realizing the value in them. One quote he states in one of his songs off of The Anti-Christ Superstar is (light a candle for the sinners, set the world on fire) has such a great meaning essentially stating that no one on earth has ever not committed a sin therefore if a candle was lit for everyone the world would be set ablaze
Great reaction, but bro on the left is missing some of the stereo sound. The left head piece specifically has some creepy sounds that aren't as present in the other ear piece
Makes me wonder if there's a way to play videos in mono? If not there should be youtube!
Great job tho guys, do more!
Should check out Nine Inch Nails - Perfect Drug ... tho most would say Closer...
Definitely perfect drug. its a a very underrated song
10:03 "... and you blend them together, what do you get?"
You get a portmanteau. You're welcome.
Marilyn Manson at the Tabernacle in Atlanta was amazing back in 2001
i wanna say the same....he is VERY intelligent. i was never huge fan in the day, but grew to love him and learned how intelligent he was and is! you can pull any interview in the past and he completely outclasses the person interviewing him 100% of the time. and does it in such a way thats not arrogant, but makes u really listen!! ive yet to find an interview that he "failed". and thats what made me listen then, and continue to this day. hes a real guy, nearing 50, who loves his two cats and was married twice. thats a real person, like anybody else, but he knew how to play a persona, and knew how to make people listen to him and his message.
Fun fact: the bass player twiggy Ramirez played on one of A Perfect Circle’s albums. Since you guys love Maynard and tool so much
Marilyn plays so heavily to the "public perception" of his image. The dude's smart and knows exactly what he's doing.
10:10 One of the Bands members from back then, Twiggy Ramirez also got his name from Richard Ramirez. It was basically the whole bands gimmick to take a popular celebrity name and combine it with the name of a controversial figure.
I am 61 years "young" and I adore Marilyn Manson. When my 38 y/o son was into him, I told him that while he brought metal/punk fusion to a new level, it was my generation that started it. Alice Cooper, Ozzy, David Bowie (in the early years). And, my son was a kid when he was into Marilyn. I am an old Punk Rock chick.
This is where my journey started when I was 11. Go down the rabbit hole to his influences such as Ministry, Skinny Puppy, and NIN
When this Song came up in the Clubs over here in Germany, the Audience went Nuts...Mosh Pits on the Dancefloor !
I was in Memphis at his concert around 1994. It was sooooo crazy. The news media’s were interviewing us while we in line to go in the coliseum! Epic! So glad I was there for that show. He hasn’t been back since
I love you guy's your vibe so cool and open minded ❤️
well thank you we really appreciate it
I love this song. This whole album is a classic.
He’s like no other and says what he wants. He speaks to people that feel and understand his lyrics. One of my favorite songs is “Kill 4 Me”. Definitely and rightfully so an ICON of music.
not Raw. but WWE Smackdown. this is their best Smackdown opening ever
It was both raw and smackdown
Yeah it was opener for first two weeks of Raw Is War, but was Smackdown's for years.
My brother found himself and a new way of expression through this music.🖤💜🖤
You guys are awesome, your reaction videos are legitimate reactions. I’ve been a fan of Manson for decades, so I’m used to his antics. Then I watched the video for “Saint.” It may be the most disturbing music video of all time.
Lots of love for you guys🖤have always loved Marilyn Manson! He is incredibly creatively wicked and dark His lyrics always misinterpreted, always. But there are so many ways he puts the evil and ugly ones in their place. While showing what effects have corrupted his sight on certains ideals. He is incredible!
A lot of the props you see he finds in thrift stores, second hand stores, garage sales and the like. You never know what awesomeness is around unless you look.
Dope show by Manson, and this song are my favorites of his
Mechanical Animals was Marilyn Manson’s best album by far! Try Disassociative, Coma White, or The Last Day on Earth.
Agreed
Completely agree
No way. It was good, but the best is Portrait. Antichrist SS is also better.
Chillinit from Australia goes good ! The boys light up , and Monksy , our city great track enjoy love your work 🎉
My one & only. Let me tell you that his music & his auto biography helped me to not commit suicide back in high school. I love MM so much, he's a true artist & highly intelligent❤
Marilyn Manson is brilliant. Have seen him about 6 times, and before I did my last magazine photoshoot he came up to me and talked to me. He's an ever so nice and gentle person. Still a big fan of him.
Thanks for another Perfect reaction guys. Love to watch you guys checking out all this timeless music. Tainted love, & I don't like the drugs, are also Awesome songs by Manson. His cover of the Eurythmic's SweetDreams is also great.
Usually he plays instruments like guitars in live performances for these songs Dried Up, Tied and Dead To The World, Minute Of Decay, Down In The Park, Coma White, Mister Superstar, In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Death, Slo-Mo-Tion, Pistol Whipped and for the song Kinderfeld he would play a flute so he does fuck around with instruments in live performance, and he also helps out with the music in albums but for the most part he Co produces his albums while the band write the music and play and I would recommend once you listen to some songs I would recommend for you to see some performances that he did back from 1996 to 2001 so you can see why he was controversial
When my last grandson was born, he didn't want to sleep. The first time he heard this song, within 30 seconds, he was starting to fall asleep. For the next year, Marilyn Manson Beautiful People, was his lullabie to sleep by
My fav MM song is Angel with the Scabbed wings and Threats of Romance is a close second. He never deserved all the hate man
A legend, indeed! Genius, also, literally! \m/
Simply a great riff!
Manson did know Anton LaVey, said he was like a second father in fact. It's not the "satanism" that most people think of, worth a read.
I was about 17/18 when I heard a tape. Back then, we would hear of underground music from tapes from early concerts. Anyway, I really got into his music. It speaks to me at a very personal level. It literally got me through because I was a throw away, unclaimed, unloved, and detested. It was interesting and somewhat made my black heart grow a sliver, knowing someone understood what it's like being the "ugly" of society.
My interpretation of this song is that we are all "ugly," but some people will pay any price and do all kinds of torture to themselves to become "beautiful"! It's tragic in a way. I realized that I needed to just embrace the fact I'm a 3, learn to become comfortable in the skin I'm in, and not contort myself into a copy of someone else.
Sure, some of his stuff is rather commercial. However, there's plenty of his music worth the listen. If you can't handle the videos, he puts behind the music.
I encourage you to give him a chance and listen to his lyrics only, and save the video for later. I find watching the video with the song sometimes can be unhelpful because it pre-determines where your point of view should be. I don't personally like that, but to each their own.
Cheese and crackers! Iv rattled on long enough, thanks for reading, check ya later!🖖🤪
as soon as you siad it was the opening for Raw i was like ooooohhh shit it really was. Nostalgia!!
Manson also has some reason groovy and funky tracks too. Check out songs from his album Pale Emperor, like 4th Day of a 7 Day Binge; Worship my Wreck; etc
You guys want a good Manson video watch tourniquet!
This was the Smackdown theme song during the early 2000's. Have loved the song ever since. Good choice
I remember Stern listening to this on the air and ripping it apart while enjoying it.
This takes me back! I remember listening to Smells like Children while riding around on my Rollerblades using a Discman 🤣🤣
Need to listen to In this Moment "Adrenalize" "Drive" or "Whore"
Hell yeah! Guys, John 5 played for Manson for a while. He plays for Rob Zombie now, plus he has his own thing going, John 5 & The Creatures. Y'all should check out his video Welcome to Violence! Great reaction! 🤘
At 52 I still blast Marilyn Manson. This song, Tourniquet & Obscene are a few of my faves. 🤘🤘
Ah this song brings me back to highschool 😂😍
The Beautiful People was one of the songs on the soundtrack for the first Smackdown vs Raw on PS2
Awesome WWE shoutout! I think it was the opening for Smackdown though!
Please react to Marilyn Manson (s)ain't
And
long hard road out of hell
🤘😉🤘
I was wondering if anyone was going to suggest this. And I agree now this is Marilyn at his most raw
A good collab between Manson and sneaker pimps, who are just as good.
Subscribed to you guys cuz of your tool reactions. Love that you did Manson. Twiggy Ramirez (Jeordie Osbourne White) not only kills the bass playing with Manson but also with Maynard & A Perfect Circle. Such different musical styles & personas he has played in his musical career is amazing, just like you've seen with Maynard.
Its funny, I recently learned that the album that this song is featured (Antichrist Superstar) is more based on Friedrich Nietzsche (19th Century Philosopher) book called Antichrist. I don't know if this is fact but I could see it , I find that Manson has quite a bit of depth to his lyrics. Great video guys sorry for the rant.
When I'm mad I LOVE to listen to Limp Bizkit -Break Stuff, a song to definitely try on your channel!!
I listen to that and RATM-Killing in the Name and then I feel better.
I found out about Marilyn Manson and Tool during the same year ;) oufffff
Hilarious reaction! Great stuff and I’m scared of Marilyn. I’m learning quickly to love him
Master of imagery
Forever a Manson fan!!!
Just ran across you guys... Lovin' your reactions. I am definitely subscribing, . ride on \m/
Thank you so much bro, glad to have you as a member of The Trash Talk Tribe. Any request you might have fire us to check out
Gotta react to Tool: pushit the salival version but try to do both versions in the same video. Have to listen to the original too, but definitely the salival version. Also, look into deftones, and even some older school rap like Bone Thugs and Harmony, lol. I’m a 90’s kid, grew up with some East 1999 Eternal haha!
Yep, been requesting the salival version for awhile now, can't wait
Nahh, those bands you mentioned and that music sucks!! Do some slipknot or slayer instead!!
I agree with you both Marilyn Manson is definitely a great artist. I would really like to get your guys's reaction to a band called Flyleaf first song I'm so sick and another one Fully Alive. With these two songs I fell in love with her voice and the way she sings on this CD.
Bruh I can remember on MTV Cribs.
"Welcome to MTV Crib. I'm Marylin Manson welcome to my Marylin Mansion." Like, the guy is a genius musically and comedically lol
When I realised that he was in Eminem's video for The Way I Am. He's actually a very smart guy, people say oh Marilyn Manson and they freak out. Listen to Tainted Love man. It's a cover it's epic.
Some Marilyn Manson Bangers: "Great Big White World," "Tourniquet," "Dope Show," "Antichrist Superstar," "The New Shit," "The Nobodys," etc. Just to get you started
"The Fight Song", man! That riff.
He plays guitar on the Song from NIN, Gave Up. He appears in the video
I see so many people commenting about how much their parents hated Marilyn Manson and the music, and how they tried to make them stop listening to it. I got lucky in that aspect. My mom didn't care for the music and every time she sawa picture or video or something of him/them, all she would ever say, every single time, was "he scares me". But she told me that she had no problem with me listening to it, or somewhat idolizing him, as I did back then. She said, "you are a good girl a, beautiful person with a good heart, good judgment, and a good head on your shoulders. And because I know you as well as I do, I trust you." "What do you mean you "trust me"? And she said "I trust you to be good and make good decisions when you go see Marilyn Manson next month". She had decided on her own to buy me and my boyfriend tickets to not just one show, but four shows, which were all either in Ohio (where I live), or Indiana. She paid for all 4 of my tickets and two for my boyfriend. (My boyfriend was in on it so she had made sure he could buy two of his tickets if she paid for the other two). We just had to pay for the gas, and decided to make a little road trip out of it. Four shows in a little under a week (although the Toledo show ended up being cancelled when Ginger Fish (the drummer at that time) did something to his shoulder or clavicle or something. Anyway, it ended up being the most memorable and fun road trip/experience of my life! And I have my super awesome mom t thank for it!! 🤯
I love u guys. You aren't fans but come with no judgement. Much love 😊😊
Marilyn Manson (and the other members of the bands names) come from famous women and famous serial killers. The first name (the woman) means "there's a little evil in every good", and the last name (the men) means "there's a little good in every evil". It's amazing what they came up with with their names. I highly recommend you guys read his book "The Long Hard Road out of Hell". It's seriously a great read. He's seriously an amazing guy. Highly intelligent. I've been a fan since I was 9 years old. I also highly recommend you guys check out his others songs. Some of my favorites are:
White Coma (my absolute favorite song)
The Man that you Fear
Say10
Kill4Me
Dope Show
Dope Hat
Black Coma
Tainted Love
The Long Hard Road out of Hell
Basically any song off of Holywood (that's my absolute favorite album). He's a genius, and I was privileged enough to see him in concert last year in Birmingham, AL. He puts on the most amazing show. Also, the rumors are false about him removing his ribs, although he is a Satanic Priest with the Church of Satan (he was ordained by LaVay himself). He's seriously an amazing man with such talent.
He was raging against capitalism and religiosity. He’s sympatico with RATM.
Would be a frekkin cool colab if RATM and Manson did a song together
it was the theme for wwe smackdown back in 2002. love it
The box around his head reminds me of The Jackal from Thirteen Ghosts.
You need to do Children Of Bodom anything off the live in Stockholm. These guys are so talented it’s unreal between the dueling guitars and keyboard who plays with one hand a lot and keeps up with the guitars is insane.
Another rumor was that he was Paul Pffiefer from The Wonder years.
He said that that rumor and the rib removal to auto-fellotiate cancel each other out. He said if he got to chase Winnie Cooper around, he wouldn't need to auto-fellotiate.
Also, the ages of Brian Warner (Marilyn's real name) and Paul's actor didnt even match up anyway.
I think the whole band took a famous supermodel's first name and a famous serial killer's last name.
'' Where are the props at? '' Best question award goes to Trash Talkers
Smackdown! was Beautiful People, Raw was Across the Nation by The Union Underground
I recommend checking out The Reflecting God, Irresponsible Hate Anthem, and 1996. All from the same album as The Beautiful People. It’s an amazing album. Also, this is the clean version.
Marilyn Manson wanted to be a journalist and one of his very first interviews was Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails and they hit it off really well and Trent Reznor signed Marilyn Manson to his label and basically made him who he is as far as musically his Persona and His Image he created that as a cross between Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson two of the most polar opposite people but both very iconic and legendary in their own right and I've seen him in concert with Rob Zombie fucking Epic!!!
Great reaction. If you really want to know what it was like to first experience Marilyn Manson then react to the intro to their first album. Prelude (The Family Trip) and then go right into the next song called Cake and Sodomy. Dope Hat and Lunchbox are also a must from the first album.
And the lyrics are good too. 🙂
F'ing incredible chorus.
Another phenomenal bassist was Gidget Gein (Brad Stewart), and another great guitarist was Daisy Berkowitz (Scott Putesky). Sadly, Brad was kicked out cuz of heroin addiction in 1994 or 1995. He befriended Manson in 2003, but overdosed and passed in 2008. And Scott left in 1996 cuz of touring life. He passed of colon cancer in 2017.
Brad and Scott are both on the 1994 album, Portrait of an American Family. They should've stayed. :(
