Yes, that’s Tatiana’s real voice. This band in from Ukraine and are all incredible! Pisces is an introduction song and nowhere near their best. Give Judgement & Punishment a listen.

FYI, Jinjer is one of those rare bands that sound better live than studio, so I recommend live performances.

The unbelievable thing about this is that most people don't realize that almost anyone with normal vocal cords have this capability. Most people don't know how to transition from one to the other. And even more dont know how to fry their voice like that without damaging their pipes. She's pretty amazing
Yup that face drop on the voice switch was epic. A voice coach did a reaction to this video and broke down her singing style. She pointed out that the way she sings when transitioning to the scream style takes alot of skill and the way she sings means she won't fry or damage her vocal chords. Very talented band.

Glass Eye? They had a female vocalist, lots of soft super melodic parts juxtaposed with dissonant noisy parts, and proggy song structures. They were from Texas though, and also didn't have harsh vocals, just a kinda less melodic male vocalist for contrast. Though it would be weird for him to jump from Jinjer to a moderately obscure art rock band from the 80's. That's my best guess though.

The Agonist had Arch Enemy's current singer Alissa and was very melodic. She also does some songs with Kamelot that show her range.

The Hu is definitely a band to check out at some point - Mongolian folk metal. I'd add Alien Weaponry's Kai Tangata too, they are New Zealanders of Maori descent and most of their singing is in Maori.
The Hu is definitely very very needed to listen to!!!

Its her voice she is one of the 2 best voices in music these days the other beeing Floor Jansen from Nightwish they both exremly versatile as well as beeing parts of superb bands that takes you on a journey that takes unexpected twists and turns you never expected but still end up loving :)

Great song and great reaction as always! Thank for keeping it real and recognizing that some songs need to be heard live and some are meant to be heard as part of an album. Jinjer is one of those bands that I always wish I could hear again for the first time. The way Smokey is staring in awe is exactly how I felt when I first saw this!!
Female growlers, like Arch Enemy, has been a thing for a while, "beauty and the beast" with male grunts and female clean vocals, like Epica or After Forever, has been a thing, but a one person "beauty and the beast" is much less common, and not to mention a good one, like this one!

@@smokeyrameriz478 There is one more example know of where a female vocalist switches between "regular" metal belting, growling, and also operatic high, all in a single song - Wild Card by ReVamp.
Otep deserves a spot up there for being the first I hear do the growl better than 95% of men, but she is not as good of a singer as Tatiana, who is incredibly versatile, there isn't a genre her voice couldn't work well in. Otep was a beast and could rap her ass off pretty damn good too, just didn't have the classical clean voice to do multiple genres.

A few things: Yes that is her. She uses her false vocal folds for the metal growls. She has multiple interviews where she explains how she practiced for hours to get her growl to not sound feminine. Then for the melodic singing she obviously uses her vocal chords.
Suggestion: Release The Archers - The Awakening (great vocals and legit musicianship)
There is an entire genre of reactions to this very song. Seeing the first time someone witnesses her vocal change is absolutely amazing!

Fun reaction - subbed. This isn't even her most beastly performance by a long shot. :D I've seen them twice and they are epic. We are all caught between fear and love where Tatiana is concerned. Tati is exceptional but nowhere near unique in her growling ability though. But that mix of top tier growls and top tier cleans is crazy stuff. Growls don't use the vocal cords so normal ideas of male and female voice don't really apply, but physical size plays a role, so it is exceptional that she can growl as low as she can being as petite as she is - and this isn't her low growls, btw haha. This video is only live-ish, with a lot of editing, but it is the best Pisces video. I'd suggest their performance of Perennial live at Wacken to put her their skills to the test on stage, and Teacher Teacher official for probably their most popular song at present, and with some light rap influences. And I do mean "their" skills, because once the initial disbelief wears off you'll start to notice how tight the rest of the band is too. Cheers!

LOL! Great reaction! I've seen 'JINJER' LIVE',.. In Iowa City, Oct. 25th, 2019.. I was curious too.. 10 feet from Tatiana, they have a power outage.. All I could hear are un-tapped Drums, a distorted Bass, and Tatiana' ROARING into an un-powered Mic'.. That was proof' for me.. She's for real! The whole band are insainly talented! This is a very powerful, and emotional song.. Boo-utt'!!! As Tatiana' would say in that Gorgeous accent' of hers,.. It's not their best. Soooo... Many!!

I watched a vocal coach react to this and I'd like to help explain what she's doing. Tatiana isn't actually using her vocals in the screams. She's using her false folds. Her true folds are completely open and no actual sound is being produced. Her false folds are just flapping around like a towel in a hurricane, while she uses her mouth and the back of her throat to make actual words. It's more about pronunciation of the actual words than her screaming them. I can do this too, but not to Tatiana's extent.
(I didn't see anyone explain what's goin' on in the throat, but I also didn't scroll through the comments for 5 minutes to fully check.)

It's amazing because she taught herself to do the growl. She spent hours upon hours alone to perfect it. She's a vocal beast.
