    I"m incredibly grateful to have the ability to see Dr. Peterson's talks online, such as this, as well as my decision to take the leap with his self-authoring program a few years ago. He's one of the main catalysts for my transformation from being in a pretty bad place about 4 years ago, to someone who now has a successful and fulfilling career as well as a happy long-term relationship with my significant other. I'm not saying anyone must take everything he says as gospel, but it's genuinely worth contemplating what he's communicating. This video is just another example of his brilliance and genuine caring nature of others. I wish I was exposed to someone like him when I was younger.

It's just unbelievably amazing, I am grateful for the mere fact that most of the things he says certainly click in my head, this is not to say, that I am a psychologist or that I even understand the basics of it, but without a doubt, listening to his lectures is eye opening and revealing especially if you look at it through the spectrum of mythological belief across the globe...

      I don't know what made you vindictive against God, but my guess is that He was misrepresented to you. I've had a sort or realignment myself recently, and I found that a lot of my problems are a misconception about how good God is, and how hard it is to believe that someone could love me so much. Then my wife came into my life, and if she can love me so well, then how could God love me any less?

    A belief system doesn't have to be an all or nothing thing. For example, I was a Christian with a very narrow view of divorce until I was challenged to think about it differently. I didn't ditch Jesus or God (although it felt like that at first), I allowed new facts to enter the equation and adapted or evolved my understanding of the nature of marriage, relationships and people in general. I lived in a bubble that was safe until it wasn't.
    I still believe divorce is to be avoided if possible, but I now understand that there are more plausible reasons to end a marriage that are not sin and are consistent with the Bible and the nature of God.

    @macmac1022 Před rokem

    Let me say the problem with it. This is from a talk from jiddu in 1970. You know, sirs - don't go to sleep over this. Because as we said, we are communicating with each other, which means we are sharing together, we are journeying together, you are not left behind for someone else to go ahead, either we are going together or not at all, which means you must have worked during this week, very hard, to find out your own activities of the mind, how it functions, your self-centred activities, the 'me' and the 'not me', you must have been quite familiar with yourself and all the tricks that the mind plays upon itself, the illusions and the delusions, the image, and the imagination that one has. And the romantic ideas, with a mind that is capable of sentimentality is incapable of love, because sentiment breeds cruelty, brutality, violence, not love.
    So if you have, and I hope for your own sake, not because of me, of the speaker, you have more or less deeply established this in yourself. Which is quite an arduous, demanding, tremendous inward discipline, discipline being learning, not learning from another, but learning by observing what is going on in yourself. And that observation is not possible if there is any form of prejudice, conclusion, a formula according to which you are observing. If you are observing according to some psychologist, you really are not observing yourself, you are observing what the psychologist has said to you, and through that you are observing. Therefore there is no self-knowing.
    And this implies an awareness. You know, there are many schools in Asia and I believe they are creeping into this country too, where you are being taught how to be aware, or how to be attentive. The first thing is, if I may point out, don't join anything, don't join any group, any organisation - I hope there is nobody here who is the head of organisations, or group leaders. Don't, because you need a mind that is capable of standing completely alone, not be burdened by the propaganda of others or the experiences of others. Enlightenment doesn't come through a leader, through a teacher, it comes through understanding of 'what is', which is in yourself, not running away from yourself. So don't, if I may most respectfully suggest, don't join anything, especially the religious kind where they promise you Nirvana or God for five dollars, or give you some kind of talisman in the shape of words - we'll go into that presently; because the mind has to understand actually what is going on in the psychological field, in its own field, and therefore it must be aware of what is going on, aware without any distortion, without any choice, without any resentment, bitterness, explanation or justification, just to observe.
    Now if this is laid happily, easily, with great joy, not compulsively but with ease, with felicity, without any hope of reaching anything, because if you have hope you are moving away from despair, therefore one has to understand despair, not search out hope - despair comes only when there is no understanding of 'what is' - out of despair you have bitterness. In the understanding of 'what is' there is neither despair nor hope.
    If you want to read the whole talk, here is the link. He also has videos of his talks, and this talk you can search up. Many people I have shown have a hard time listening to him though I have heard, so that is why I gave the written link. jkrishnamurti.org/content/what-meditation

      @@joeday4293 The word evil stemmed from the religious gossip that a devil is leading spiritually weakened humans into committing evil deeds.
      Ridiculous.
      If someone commits a brutal act against another human, it's because that someone was plain angry and vindictive, as humans are prone to be, when we don't get our own way.
      It's time to take responsibility for our own nasty actions, and stop blaming our nasty behavior on an imaginary devil.
