  • Decided to make an in depth tutorial on how I use Logic Pro on iPad. I hope this video brings some value for those looking to learn. This isn’t the only way to use it, just how I do.
    the iPad I’m using is the M2 iPad Pro 12.9 with 16 gigs of ram and 1 tb of storage, it is absolutely overkill for just music, but I also edited this video on it.
    If this tutorial was helpful, please consider checking out my album “There’s Something Better” by Dylan Paris wherever you listen to music, thanks!

    I'm not used to using loops, but your workflow is really selling me on the idea. I'm just getting started w/ Logic Pro, I'm going to try this. Good tutorial!

    You perfectly described it “the closest I ve been to a dream of music production” like I love ableton for years but ableton note is not even close to this logic app

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  Před 7 měsíci +5

      Yeah Ableton Note feels like it would have been so cool in 2015 but at this point is like “really guys? this is the best you can do on a platform that has the same processor / ram as a laptop that runs your full app?”

    One thing I want to do is make it so when my kick hits, it sweeps out frequencies in the synth bass I use. Something like a side chain triggered by my kick.

    I learned some things. I just wish there was a pointer for when you say things like "Click this pencil, not this one, or this one, but this one" Other than that, thanks for this, it made it a little easier for me to learn some basics.

    i guess the question is, what is better Logic Pro or Garage Band...using IPAD. Taking into account learning curve and pricing. Any opinions?

    2nd question bro: I have an m32 I use with the live 2 and plus. Is there a certain midi controller that works really well with transport controls in ipad logic that you prefer?

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  Před 8 měsíci

      Sadly it seems like no midi controllers work for transport and I could be wrong but I also don’t think you can midi map for custom mapping, definitely a missing feature.

    Hi -- I'm a musician and I'm trying to decide between the 11 inch and 13 inch iPad Air 6. I mostly create video productions comprised of voice and acoustic guitar, but sometimes do projects that crank up to about 20 tracks, with submixes. I do like the more portable size of the 11", but am I likely to find the 11" a bit cramped for the more multi track projects?

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  Před měsícem

      I switched from an 11 to a 12.9 when logic came out cause I wanted the extra space, I’d say try them both in a store if you can!

    I think it would be perfect in a situation where you have alot of outboard gear, as a kinda brain of the whole operation yanno?
    Thinking about getting an ipad specifically for this usecase lol

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  Před 7 měsíci

      I’m not sure I’d trust this app stability wise for this use case but if you do end up trying it I’d be super curious to hear how it goes!

      @@DylanParisMusicit’s quite nice and pretty stable

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I have found it to be less stable than something like Ableton on pc or Mac, I think primarily just due to how Apple handles ram management on iPad, I’m definitely not saying it wouldn’t work at all, just not sure it’d be my first choice for something like that

    I noticed the sample packs shown are on garage band, do they have a lot of new ones on logic?

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  Před 8 měsíci

      I’m honestly not sure if there’s a ton more besides the studio horns and strings, but there’s a lot of multi sampled instruments that I don’t think are in GB so probably those as well

      Thanks for the fast response. I think i didn’t look right the auv3 is probably only available for the mac version. I tried also downloading the Buttersynth from the store which says its a auv3 and also standalone synth. But that one also doesn’t show up in Logic :(@@DylanParisMusic
