What's good fellow song-maker! So, if you've started a song in Logic Pro but are struggling to actually FINISH it 1) you're in good company lol, but 2) it's probably because you're stuck on production. And for good reason, I mean music production is basically an ever-expanding bowl of creative sauce that you can easily get lost in...
I want you to ENJOY the sauce! But in a quantity appropriate to your experience level. This video is geared toward beginners that don't have a lot of know-how when it comes to adding instruments, layering sounds, effecting things, and just making your song sound more like... well, a "song."
We're going to take an original song of mine from demo to developed by attacking the 3 foundational areas of production:
    🎹 The Music
    00:00 Pre Production Setup
    01:30 Breaking Up Music Patterns
    08:50 Adding More Instruments
17:57 Spicing Instruments Up With FX
    23:09 Adjusting Song Structure
23:55 Save CPU By Consolidating Tracks
27:14 Free Gift To Streamline Song-making
    🥁 The Drums
27:57 Logic Drum Machine Designer 101
    35:16 Programming Drums With Samples
35:57 Recording With Drum Machine Designer
    39:57 Creating 808's With Logic's Drum Synth
    45:00 Editing Recorded MIDI Notes
    46:25 Duplicating Drums Across Song
47:15 Filter Effecting Drums With EQ
    53:30 Drum Production Wrap-Up
    🎤 The Vocals
54:42 How To Autotune in Logic Pro
01:04:41 Morphing Vocals In Vocal Transformer
01:08:02 Adding Dimension With Vocal Spreader
    01:09:18 Recording Background Vocals Quickly
    01:11:05 Vocal Production Wrap-Up
Logic has a lot of intuitive tools that make it easy to produce these areas, but I admit there are a LOT of them. Freaking knowing where to click is half the battle 😅. But if I was a new producer, THIS is how I'd produce my first song in Logic Pro.
I'm in this battle WITH you my friend - and together we'll traverse the plains of production in Logic Pro X in styyyle ⚔️ 🤓
    Let the nerding out begin!

4:21 I was very confused about copy and paste for some time because I don't know if still the case, but Logic liked to place the playhead not snapped to the grid always, so I end up with misaligned regions a lot. So 1. make sure your playhead is really there wherever you want it to be. Also, just repeat one region, I use command + R instead. Easy, no need to mess with the playhead. Also at 6:35 there is a midi command in the midi window, go to edit, then forced legato (I guess shift + backslash), it lengthens all the midi end of the selected notes to the next note. Unfortunately I think it has a bug and not aligned perfectly has a gap like a division or so, maybe it is on purpose but still it is cool. Cool video, btw. Why there is no 1080p option?

i love that you do this so in depth! i use logic on the iPad, it's not too far off of the mac version so i can follow along, just takes a little navigation to figure it out but it works! i'm planning to get an iMac or Macbook and buy logic for mac. you have the best tutorials, can't wait for more videos :D
