Claremont is probably powered paragliders, but there is a free flight school in Charlestown called Morningside. Stop by sometime this summer. Take a look.
@@SkyMaxOne No power. It's actually hang gliding. There are some small single engine type planes, not sure the actual name. They sometimes pull the hang gliders. I believe this is Morningside. It's definitely Charlestown. Not sure why I said Claremont, it just popped in my head lol.
I nearly did this once! But it was from the top of what used to be a ski mountain on rickety pumpjack staging on the sideof a 5 story building, and the "sail" was a piece of 4 by 8 heavy panel siding, that I was holding onto when a strong wind blew up and tried to pull me off the staging, and I was holding on to that paneling trying to keep it from going, and my boss grabbed the stanchion with one hand, the back of my tool belt with the other and yelled, 'LET IT GO"!!! I did and watched it sail down the side of that mountain, it really was quite graceful gliding along, but I was praying there was no one below, and my boss ( who was already pissed off that his boss had us up that high on rickety two by four pumpjack staging with narrow plank walkways, said, " we are going down, Now"!! And we did. His boss never made us go back to finish, so I wonder if he got someone else as desperate for work to complete the job or if he found found a safer solution.
Agreed. It's safer to do it after clearing the terrain. This is an early morning takeoff, before thermal activity kicks in, so new pilots can practice in a safer settings and can get away with little mistakes.
@@jeanmichels7372 👍yup launching in the mountains is a nerve-racking experience until one gets a couple (or more) seasons under their belt with many hours flown.

Born and raised here in Vermont!!
Thank you for watching!
I live in Vermont I always see them paragliding towards the Castleton area
That is from a different launch in West Rutland. But yes, very popular place to fly. Hang gliders and paragliders.
Grandpa knob. Love seeing them.
@danielmartens156 Thank you for watching!
Nice but it's a huge mistake to sit so early in the harness

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
😁 Thank you for watching!
Where is this place?
Burke Mountain, Vermont. USA
Wow that’s scary
It is not when you are doing it :-) Gradual progression and training is required obviously. This was a pretty good launch by a new pilot.
@@SkyMaxOne easy to see it was a student a little shy to run !
