🎬Archaeopteryx-Lightest Sailplane In The World🎬
It is Archaeopteryx or Archaeopteryx glider, takes name from the ancient first Dinosaur bird. Archaeopteryx is single seat and the lightest sailplane in the world.
The Archaeopteryx can take off and land almost anywhere just like a hang glider but it flies like a conventional sailplane.

he said "when flying, landing may be the most important factor"
understatement of the century...
....and the last century.
..not everything that takes off lands…
What goes up, must come down (and without power not necessarily at your preferred spot).
This is like a childhood fantasy come true. I’ve always imagined being able to fly on my own. Having something like this and the space/environment to use it is freedom.
bruh you are just speaking what's in my mind !
imagine goignt o top roof and jumping with this to destination
Exactly!! HAHAHAHA@@Karim-ifInwUstfu702
@@Z4LIFE917 bruh, duh
what I like most is that you can fly it anywhere without anyones help
Nice to see they picked an easy to remember and easy to spell name for it.
And a robot to tell us all about it.
Fred Flintstone take off😂🍻
ok...
That looks like it's too much fun for a person to have! Yet, I can't stop thinking how exciting it must be to be able to fly with almost no power but the wind and thermal currents.
Sir I diagnose you with being a bird
If you want to excite people, get a person to read your script. AI sucks.
100% spot on...
I think it fits the video actually
I could not watch after 10 seconds. AI is rubbish. It's so pretend.
I understand what you mean but you are making a lot of assumptions. What if the creator of this video is deaf or has something wrong with their speech? I only say this because my brother is in that situation. He makes CZcams videos and uses AI as well.
@@jimbo1028None of that invalidates the point. Just because someone is incapable of doing something, doesn't mean concessions should be made to peoples preferences. It sucks, but that's life.
PLEASE STOP using robot voices. They are killing every freaking video with the dead voice sound
Yes, and incorrect syllable inflection.
Was thinking the same, it’s awful to listen to, wrecks the video
Don't take it personal.
Nothing says quality like being too cheap to find a voice actor on fiverr
all we can do is stop watching it, and downvote. commenting like this boosts the video's engagement and youtube offers it to more people as a result
@1:27 the video is backwards lol! No way the guy lined that up like that! hahaha! cool plane though!
lol yeah i didn't notice that either
Good eye!
noticed it too, and the original video is at the end, for the disassemble part ahahah
How much? No doubt shockingly expensive, well beyond the budget of 99% of us watching this! This craft was invented back in the late 80' to early 90s by an aeronautical engineer. I remember watching him demonstrate it, self launching like a bird, with his own two feet. Genius. He designed and built it himself with carbon fiber. It made such an impact on me, seeing a self launch plane that could glide effortlessly, I never forgot it. Looks like they finally put his idea into actual production. What attracted me was, with plans, you could build one yourself affordably.
Yes shockingly expensive! The base model is US$90,000
Cough
@@MyBlueZed
“These bad boys retail from about $58,500 to $82,000 based on the model, not including storage and transport components.”
@@MyBlueZedthat is extremely cheap for planes tho u can get a Cessna for way cheaper
Q when launching from the side of a mountain , how do i get the thing up there ?
I want one! This looks so fun.
Fred Flinstone would be proud of the foot launch😂
Yaba Daba Doo! Ehhh good memories from Childhood! ☺️☺️☺️
After a commercial like that you could -AT LEAST- give an estimate price.
your life
The narration is generated from an artificial intelligence source. You’ll find more and more of this. It’s rather cringeworthy to listen to but it gets the job done.
No, it's not!
I’d rather hear a real, human, annoyingly nasal voice with a fumbling cadence than these auto generated voices. They have zero emotion. It’s tiring on the brain and ears after a couple of minutes.
Or just standard text to speech software that has been around for years now. 😊
Yeah what do you mean by AI. Did the AI write the script? Did the human who compiled the video take direction from the AI. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
@@CoLD.SToRAGE There are CZcamsrs who can't speak. They use text to speech software.
2:03 that looks so friggin goofy i love it
Centaur, murmaid, airplane with legs. A natural progression.
Literally. There was a Goofy short where he was trying to fly a glider just like that.
A very nice unit.
Well. That. Was. PRETTY. Cool. Looking.
Hi, thanks for sharing this video I've been looking for ever about the archaeopteryx until I saw it this morning on you tube, thank you!!!
Good looking bird.
I enjoyed watching this video, thank you for sharing
The electric version every time for me.
You can buy a very nice, safe, 4 seat plane for this price, but very cool and looks fun.
So you just Fred Flintstone off into the sky that’s rad
If this were to become more affordable we would need far fewer highways. It’s absolutely brilliant.
No, people would be crashing left and right on top of peoples houses, and you still need a runway, there is nothing that special about this thing
Hardly, uses advanced engineering and advanced composite materials, the materials alone are very expensive. This is a toy for riches, for the commoners like me i prefer Sandlin´s models all the way.
Also, propper flight training is much more critical than propper drinving lessons (which are still important), and that goes beyond knowing how to operate the aircraft.
You'd need training about weather, dangers you might not be aware of rn, control zones etc.
A plane that weighs the same as I do is incredible
Just give me a minute! I will put on my airplane suit... :)
The whole thing is made of foam. If you get bored up there you can start breaking bits off the cockpit and scrunching the foam in to tiny pieces using only your bare hands, very satisfying and relaxing.
Oh it already has it! Makes sense.
Looks like so much fun it is sinful!!!
They now have a motor for gliders, that the prop folds back when the power is off, that would complete this craft
I'll probably be the next Archaeopteryx customer...
This is great really.
now that's a freedom to fly anytime, with almost no effort and pain. Can be added as activity after retirement.
This is so freaking cool!!
This script was not written by a native English speaker! It sounds like it was written in Chinese and translated unto English.
Excecellent !!
Bravo !!
Beautful !!
Rj Brasil
Thanks for the video
Sweet!, I want one..
but WHY doesnt it have 2 wheels in the back ? that would give it some tiny bit of stabily on the ground . maybe if the track is wide enuff even enuff to take off without the two helpers holding the wings up ^^
Thank you
Veery good job and hordwork thank sir
That take off looks like Flintstones kind of stuff.
The running launch reminds me of Fred Flinstone doing the same thing but in a car..
Orville and Wilber wright would be jealous!!!!!! Love it!!!!! How much $$$$$
Very interesting 👌 ❤❤❤
imagine attaching a very light partial bike frame to the bottom instead of Fred Flintstone's feet.
Text to speech gets me every time lol, just missing the stock footage.
You didnt mention how long and how far it cn fly? 😮
Its a Sailplane, ergo it can fly as long as the pilot wants & finds thermics
@vusitile3926 That will depend on the vertical air currents that you will meet and can exploit. The right question to ask would be : What is the lift/drag ratio ?
I'm thinking he means what's the range using electric motor and battery's. I'm thinking 20 minutes at the most
@oldschoolman1444
Seems to me that electric motor is more useful for landing, needing extra air time to get to an appropriate site.
You could fly it over water, beach, knowing you have 20 minutes despite updraft running out?
Missing is boat launching, and high tower weight drop. 😂
Maybe a bicycle, dropping bike like an extra fuel tank.
Unicycle?
Oh that standard/open cockpit model is wiiiiiild.
6:09... I died laughing. That is absolutely wild.
This looks great
I’m heavier than it 💀
BRO I NEED THIS
Good work done 👍
This would be perfect for The everest glider challenge. A real life flight like the flight sim from everest to Lukla air srip, the most dangerous airport. Google everest glider challenge
Love it! ❤. Would 100,000 USD. purchase the electric version?
120'000 for electric version
I'm surprised no Whole Aircraft Recovery Parachute System (WARP)? Given the put together, tear down design.
5:00. Hellos, Mr AI, why do you keep saying “I believe”? Haven’t you read the instruction manual, Mr AI?
Once I reach that level or rich, I will definitely buy one.
That is sooooooooo cool 😍😍😍😍💖💖💖💖💖
What a wonderful!!! If I have a chance to get I wanna be really happy 😊
excellent
preeeeetttty cool.
Nice man
Amazing 😮 👏👏
Wow 😊 Nice Technology 🎉
nice sharing
Amazing!
Amazing
woooo, amazing device is this, is super old by the way, i want one :D
Just amazing and unbelieveable
I feel like buying one for myself!
History repeats itself that's the way the wright bros did it.'
That so nice and amizing
controllable pitch propellers up to flag position to save fuel ?
These are so cool yet so expensive!
Not expensive, just a lot of money.
@@danhubert-hx4ss ...
Not expensive ...you don't make enough money
@@Amerikanin2numarali_ustasi it’s a very small market for people dropping $80,000 on an ultralight foot launched glider…
fantastic
that was cool video
This needs a parachute system, the fact that it is so light tells me that in a strong gust of wind this thing wouldn't have a sturdy enough frame. Also take into account failure of said high stress areas overtime, the simple and easy assembly having some failure point or someone making a simple mistake, it would have them losing a flight control surface and this thing would turn into a lawn dart.
The structures are essentially using their customers as Guinea pigs, I doubt they have done years upon years of research on said design to make sure that it isn't flawed. Definitely add a chute
I love it
Way cool.
Nice video. I'm afraid about high altitude, but it should be amazing. Salutes from a little village in Spain. I only can see vultures and eagles where I live...
Dear Santa......
I guess 21st Century is about Solo flight😮
Very much like one called the Swift glider
Please tell me this thing got parachute 😂
Есть система спасения
Narrator just wasn't artificial enough.
Nice summary - all footage has been shown elsewhere before.
Nice video
$200,000 are you freaking kidding?!?! I'll take an open jantar for half the coin
I like the electro version.
It can be built in a garage. I like it
Yes we get the point! How may times to you have mention the word “archaeopterix” in one video! A cynic might say that nobody is fooled by an ad dressed up as an impartial documentary. I’m not saying that of course, but I could understand someone who would!
nice !
🙀 2:42 *_Tail strike!_*
Wow, when will this be available on Ali Baba?
What's the glide ratio?
I live it this is the life !!
Ain't nothing like flying !!
The ultimate joy !!
If you knew what joy is you would say something else! With this plane and all aircrafts you can die but in the peace and joy of the lord god almighty you will not die even though the body will die the spirit will not die! But yes this looks fun its not that i am against aircrafts i like aircrafts too!
Hmmm. Maybe I'll settle for a small motorcycle
Those things are deathtraps from many angles!
Interesting
How much do they cost? I’d love to own one
apparently more than a few ultralight airplanes xD
(~80-100k eur)
Anyone else hear the Dumb Ways to Die sing in their heads?
