But people do need to realize that bullying isn't a small thing and what it can do to a person can last a lifetime. It needs to be dealt with more seriously than it is today. It happens in childhood and it can happen in adulthood, especially in the workplace.
With that said, kids who never met either of these boys were murdered by them that day. It's quite possible that whoever bullied these boys is alive today. I hope that they are thankful to be alive and spend every day being the best person they can be from that day onward.

It's really pitiful to have so much but they couldn't get the mental help they so desperately needed. Parents really need to pay more attention to their children and not just let them run wild and do whatever because you don't wanna infringe on their privacy. There's nothing wrong with being friends with your teens but actual parenting should be your main priority.

He was my friend, and he was seeing a psychiatrist and on meds. They didn't agree with him however. But he was able to talk his way out of situations easily, and was not perceived as a threat. He was initially honest, but then it was sized down to him having a lot of anger issues.

    • @amberlikely420

It’s interesting how people think it’s so easy to blame parent neglect. This situation was a lot more complex than that. I’d love to find a parent who knows everything going on with their teenager. My parents were helicopter parents and had no idea I was being bullied to the extent that I was, until the school counselor who would save me from my tormentors called my parents and talked to them. But if the counselor hadn’t seen it, then the whole ordeal would have gone unnoticed. Fortunately we didn’t have guns in the house but hey, who knows what could have happened. I was enraged and hurt and had no clue how to control those emotions. And I was so sick and god damn tired of being humiliated every single day. My mother and I talked about it just the other day and she outright said she doesn’t know what would have happened had I had access to guns. So I honestly get it to some degree.

Story time... Earlyer this month there was a shooting at my niece's middle school. She is ok but shooken up. Anyway weeks before the shooting, the night of the anniversery of columbine, Dylan was in a dream i had.
So it was a beautiful day, i could see a grassy hill with a paved sidewalk and a parkinglot filled with cars. I could see a guy dressed all in black with backwards hat and a long back coat. He had blond wavy hair and super tall so i could tell that it was Dylan. He wasn't shooting, in fact i don't think i even saw his gun. He was just pacing walking amilessly, i could see his face and i could tell he was crying with tears streaming down his face. He looks at me with sadness in his eyes and he mouths something like im sorry, or somerhing, then i woke up hahah. The dream didn't bother me, or scare me like i am not scared of Dylan. But i think about it like what could it mean haha
Sorry haha wanted to get that out there

I have watched Sue's interview with ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer on "20/20" and I felt genuinely sorry for Sue Klebold as well as having a strong desire to wish I could reach through my TV screen and hug her. Plus, it was extremely upsetting to see her on the verge of tears while talking about various memories she has of Dylan and of how she insisted that she "has to let some of this rest and say 'I didn't kill these people; Dylan did, it wasn't me!'" I also noticed that Diane Sawyer had a nasty, hateful almost disgusted look on her face which suggested that she either had an awful smell under her nose or that she drank an entire bottle of lemon juice. One particularly insulting question Diane asked Sue was if "she [Sue] could have prevented what happened at Columbine High School on April 20th, 1999." A better and far more appropriate wording of the question is if Sue believes that what happened was preventable.

It's especially true for Dylan's house as his dad Tom Klebold still lives in the house after he and Dylan's mom Sue Klebold divorced in 2014. What I find to be rather baffling is why after the divorce Tom hadn't considered the idea of selling the house and moving away. If I was in Tom's position I would have sold the house and moved away to set myself free from the memories that wouldn't have allowed me to move forward with my life.

The scenery and land around Dylan's house is truly beautiful. To think he maybe could have inherited that land and home makes the chosen act even more foolish. Eric was a complete mentally unstable, degenerate. Dylan could have done so much with his life. It is truly sad he made this choice. Brook's Brown dad has been doing interviews lately with CVA and Bill Ockham, he thinks 100% that Eric shot Dylan in the library. I always thought this was BS but now i believe it. What these kids did was absolutely idiotic, i understand why people can relate to them being bullied yourself. Come on though, people. Any high iq individual should look at the big picture in life and know they can leave high school adversity behind them and win in adulthood, these kids failed to do so. They were too immature and caught up in the moment. I will forever be saddened and intrigued by this case.

that's interesting and yeah, it makes sense, the bully is jealous of a quality in the victim...i have always believed that a bully should be punished severely, i worked in a mental health clinic and a therapist told me that NO...a bully should not be punished, they are in more pain than the victim....i still think that the bully should pay, it's not right to let the victims suffer and make excuses for the bully....why should the bully get a free pass?

@@InfamousCrimeLocations They did speak with one of the victims parents years after the incident happened. Eric’s dad also mentioned his son on a work related webpage but it was taken down. I think they felt shame and wanted to deal with the incident privately and not go the public route that would have come with even more baggage. His dad was in the military, so I’m sure the family keeps to themselves by instinct.
They overlooked signs, but they did seek help for their son and his behaviors were brushed off as Eric “just being a boy”. I recently read that he worked at a fireworks stand, and his interest in explosives seemed normal at the time for his age. He also didn’t display obvious signs of a psychopath or troubled teen- he did well in school, held down steady jobs, had friends, and hobbies.
I live in Denver and am in Littleton about once a week, even drove past Columbine this morning. Dark and somber thoughts run through me whenever I have to go to that town because of this incident. A friend of mine moved into one of the victims homes, I don’t know how she is able to get past the history but I guess some people see it as the past and leave it at that.

I was a freshman in HS when Columbine happened. I can honestly from early reports on the events of that day ( and those leading upto it and the aftermath), that I initially felt what they'd done was horrific but, kinda understood that is stemmed from incessant, persistant bullying. But now, after learning that they in fact were the tormentors that harrassed other students, I feel they really had no justification and no real reasons for why they committed such horrendous acts violence. Turns out that they werent even part of that " Trenchcoat Mafia" of which the members looked more like average students that couldve been in Vocational classes in school. And that Dylan and Eric were even more popular than first reported. One of them even went to a school dance just a few weeks before they went on their spree. Nonetheless it doesnt change anything but, how theyre now seen. Just a senseless act of violence that insane or depressed teens (and adults alike), have been idolizing and attempting to outdo with their own horrific acts of violence ever since. RIP to all victims who've passed and hoping the survivors who still deal with any of these tragic mass shootings are going strong and prosper in every aspect of life.

Now I believe that was the problem ... it is so beautiful and they were so evil it actually hurt them to live there. It's a tragedy across the board even these twos parents experienced the same results as the 13 other parents and my heart breaks for every one of them.
